This was a great book and a quick and easy read. The instructions are very clear and understandable and there are pictures to give you an idea of what he is talking about if you get confused. Also, the chapters are well-organized so it's easy to find any information you are looking for quickly. This is a great how-to guide.
Great book! I will probably need to buy this one. Lots of great info about caring for dogs and grooming. Loved the photos! Grooming techniques were well laid out and described. This one will help me groom my three dogs!
Not sure why there are so many low ratings for this book on goodreads, but it definitely deserves 5 stars! This book is extremely informative and has lots of tips on things that can help make the grooming process more efficient and stress-free. Of course you can always Google advice on grooming, but it is really convenient when everything is compiled nicely in one book. I really recommend this to everyone who has a dog! It is good to know at least the basics of keeping your dog in good shape and what to do when you encounter a mishap, or prevent one from happening. (grooming mistakes, things that can happen on a walk...etc)
Wish that I read this book before getting a dog, (2 years ago) it would have helped out so much more.
I have wanted to learn how to groom my Shih Tzu’s for years and finally have the tool to do so! The book is easy to follow and understand and explains exactly how to do things. Not only has this saved a tremendous amount of money, it gives me individualized time with each of my babies!
Not very practical. Limited cuts for larger or working breeds are explained, book does not go over flea and tick prevention (only removal) and advocates using essential oils on dogs without mentioning toxicity. Coat types, anal gland care, and ear cleaning are well clarified though.
I enjoyed reading this book. I wanted to understand about clipping and It supplied good clear instructions on how to approach this and to care for your dog in many other ways. It also supplied you with many photographs too.
I liked it It was a really good guide on haircuts which was what I was looking for Compared to other grooming books I’ve read the only con to this is There’s no proper guide on brushing,He just straight up goes into mats.Other than that this book is perfect.
I definitely learned some things about grooming! I appreciated the step by step tutorials and pictures. Am unsure how much to trust though, as it says essential oils are ok, they are toxic to dogs.
Tired to be a dog groomer, used this book as a guide lots, don't like dog grooming as a professional but will groom my own dogs once I adopt and this book is a great reference.
Not the most every day practical guide. Nor is it very detailed. But a good starter read for learning the tid bits like coat types and appropriate tools to use.
