Frankly I did not understand what the novel is about. The story, the characters all seems dispersed, strange and unnatural. Khanolkar's poems, though not always very straightforward to understand, are nonetheless very lyrical and have a great emotive quality (taral, bhavook,geya). But in his novels he seems lost, neither expressing the characters or the plot very clearly. Also sexual desires seem to be an underlying theme on which he writes quite explicitly, nothing subtle about it. Overall in my opinion Khanolkar was an exceptional poet but a debatable author.
