The second Winter Massey thriller, and I'm a liking this US Marshall. Well, maybe ex-US marshall...we shall see in the next one. The 12 year old Faith Ann, Winters is trying to save from the bad guys, was a wonderful character. A taut story with vivid characters, made for a thrilling read.

An exciting novel with multiple motives, suspects, and crimes. John Miller created a fast-paced, thrilling plot and some interesting characters.

A bit too meandering, Book two in series. Haven't found book one to date. Not sure I I'm going after book three. I really disliked twists at conclusion. A rounded 3 stars. (2.75 star read)

When I first began reading the book. I was intrigued. Yet midway through it started to dragggg. Also his writing style isn't the best. What I found disgusting is his racism towards black people! Myself being a black women did not like the way he used racial slurs to describe us. The characters that were black he stereotyped and down played. He made the whites in comparison look privileged. The closing out of the book was boring and dry. Like why write this expansive story to just have an unfulfilling end.

2.5 stars. Ok story, but characters were caricatures and distracting from the plot. Also how is Big Spring a suburb of Houston (450 miles away)? Do books not have copy editors anymore? Again, distracting.

Totally unbelievable and I suspend belief for books I read. I'm interested in characters. This book didn't have any I cared about. And I picked up on the "surprise" at the end close to the beginning.

Suspenseful. Little confusing with all the characters. Good twist with Nicky Green at the end. Still confused with Yuri/Styrus/Winter situation. Glad the girl didn't die.

My first Miller novel and I have just ordered 3 more for the kindle. A lawyer in New Orleans is working to free a death row inmate and is offered some evidence that would help her mission. While talking in her office with the woman with this evidence a man comes in and at gunpoint demands the pictures and ends up shooting both the woman and the lawyer. Unknown to the shooter the lawyers 11 year old daughter was in the office and has the photos and a tape recording of the confrontation. She escapes and is hunted for most of the book by the shooter and his partner, both killers for hire and also by the New Orleans police dept.., initially as the suspect killer. Add in another hired killer, a good Detective, a US marshal, a Private detective and a FBI agent in a tense hide and seek with a smart and wily 11 year old. A most enjoyable read.

I knew before I even started this book, that it would be a wonderful experience reading it. This time the main character is Faith Ann Porter, who has just seen her mother killed. She can't go to the police because they are involved in the case, in a bad way. Her uncle and aunt Hank Trammel, a retired lawman are victims of a hit and run, in which Hank almost dies. Luckily for Faith Ann, she is friends with Winter Massey, a former US marshal who comes to her aid. Before that, she is very ingenious in figuring out how to elude two killers, and the New Orleans police force, who describe her as armed and dangerous.

Upside Down is a novel filled with suspense. This book captivated me from the first chapter until the very last. John Ramsey Miller creates such vivid characters that stand out even amongst the fast paced plot. The story itself is is quite amazing as it takes many twists and turns. Definitely a must read for those interested in suspense.

I have come to learn that I pick out horrible books. This one was very convaluded with way too many people being introduced and too many people doing "secret missions" I do not recommend it to anyone else to read.

This was my first Miller book and boy was it intriging. I couldn't put this down and would stay up late to finish - had to see if good would conquer evil. The end has many twists and turns you just can't see coming.

This was very intriging. Kept me up past my bedtime to see if good would triumph over evil! Just who are the bad guys? You don't know until the ending. I liked.

I dived right in and got my nose stuck in this story. The plot twists were fantastic and I couldn't have asked for any thing more from a read, except more books!

This was a very good thriller. I liked how Faith Ann figured out how to survive and how she and Winter worked together later. I look forward to reading the first book in the series, Inside Out.
