Mitzy Moon is stretching her private investigator wings. Her old life, as a broke barista in Sedona, seems a distant memory. So, she’s shocked when her former supervisor reaches out and begs for help finding his missing, hopefully not dead, girlfriend. Enticing her new husband to join her journey to the New-Age mecca of the Southwest will be the easiest part of this case. But she’ll need video assistance from Ghost-ma and her entitled feline because as soon as she sets foot on the red rocks, dark energies threaten to throttle more than her chakras. Can Mitzy and Erick unravel the mystical clues, or will this sweat lodge kill their kundalini? Stiffs and Petroglyphs is the third book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series, Harper and Moon Investigations, a spinoff from the popular Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like snarky heroines, supernatural intrigue, and a dash of romance, then you’ll love Trixie Silvertale’s holistic whodunit.
USA Today Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her Mitzy Moon Mysteries, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.
Stiffs and Petroglyphs is the third book in the Harper and Moon Investigations series. This is a spin-off of the author's Mitzi Moon series. This new series pairs the psychic Mitzy and her former sheriff husband Erick as private investigators. Their latest case brings them back to Mitzi's former hometown of Sedona, Arizona to investigate the disappearance of her old boss's girlfriend.
Mitzy is able to have an occasional video call with her wise caracal Pyewacket and the spirit of her deceased grandmother, but for the most part she and Erick are on their own. The dangerous circumstances of the case are offset by the amusing situations Mitzy finds herself in. I enjoyed this "road trip" for the detective duo. The tongue-in-cheek comments about the town of Sedona and the more serious information about the Native community are enjoyable. I also like that there are a few chapters from Erick's point-of-view so we can see first hand what he's thinking. I especially liked the ending of this fun book and am looking forward to Mitzy and Erick's next adventure.
I received an advance copy of this ebook at no cost from the author, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.
Mitzy gets a call from her old supervisor at the coffee shop she worked at in Arizona before her life changed forever with the appearance of one Silas Willoughby! He wants her to come to Arizona and track down his missing girlfriend who has vanished while on a spiritual retreat.
Mitzy and Erick arrive and sign up for the retreat themselves and find some things aren’t above board. The investigations turn serious when Mitzy finds the missing woman but is held captive by a man who knew the missing woman from before. Erick goes on a search for her and enlists the aid of a local lawman as well to aid in the search.
There is murder afoot and with phone calls between her and Ghost Grams and Pyewacket back in Pin Cherry Harbor Pye provides some critical clues to solving the murders which relate to previous deaths as well.
Trixie has written another great story which her fans will love and will peak the interest of those who may never have heard of her before; but with the raving success of the previous series about how Mitzy ended up in almost Canada from Arizona escaping the life she had thanks to Silas and her long dead grandmother this new series just builds on that foundation! The only difference now is that Mitzy and Erick are married and they are able to go investigate cases where ever they may care to go!
It’s a great series that you’ll really want to read -not only the previous two books in this series but the entire Mitzy Moon Investigations series that preceded it! Mitzy gets herself in some tight spots but with her extra senses and help from her friends she always manages to come out on top.
I throughly enjoy this series and enthusiastically recommend all the books in both series to you as ones you’ll love! Mitzy is a girl you’ll fall in love with and can’t get enough of reading about her exploits!
If you’re already a fan nothing more needs to be said but if you’re looking for a fun read with humor from both human and ghosts as well as one amazing caracal don’t pass this book up or the rest of the books either. The previous series is now available in box sets which is more convenient than getting all the books separately so take advantage of that!
Join Trixie’s legion of fans who can’t get enough of her stories!
I think I might love the Harper and Moon Investigations books even more than the original Mitzy Moon series! Erick's increased role, including the occasional chapter from his point of view, really adds to the series. In Stiffs and Petroglyphs, Mitzy and Erick go to Mitzy's old stomping grounds - Sedona, Arizona - to help her former boss locate his missing girlfriend. The search leads them to sketchy shamans, suspicious sweat lodges, and people who are hiding huge secrets. While they don't have prominent roles in this story, Ghost-ma and Pyewacket make the occasional appearance - making sure that our intrepid heroes stay on task and do the most important thing: come home to Pin Cherry Harbor safely. Stiffs and Petroglyphs was a fantastic story and I am anxiously waiting for book four!
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. Fantastic characters in an entertaining storyline. These are the continuing adventures of Mitsy moon and Eric Harper the former sheriff a picture he harbor. After they were married Eric and Missy started their own private investigator firm and solve mysteries together And occasionally save the town and the people. Along with the help of her wildcat her ghostly grandmother and other friends and family they seek out the truth and find the perpetrators. Follow long this time as they travel out of town and state for another mysteries adventure. Always entertaining And always fun. Check it out
Loved reading it!! If you love reading murder mysteries this is for you. It's funny and all about fun to read I just couldn't put it down. It has all sorts of surprises that will keep you hook. I highly recommend reading this.
When Mitzy's old supervisor in the coffee shop in Arizona calls her for help finding a missing woman, she sees it as a chance to show Erick where she grew up. They trace the missing woman to a new-age commune and go undercover there fully immersing themselves in the experience. They even sleep in a yurt. But, at least they are together.
This series is a spin-off of Ms. Silvertale's "Mitzy Moon Mysteries" series. I hope you've read it. If you haven't, I can only ask " Why not?". But, seriously, you can read this new spin-off and enjoy these books just as well. It has the same main characters in it and equal amounts of fun. You may be a little lost without some of the back stories and not catch some of the jokes shared between the characters, but you will love this series.
I really love this series. This book had it all. It was funny, action packed, adventures, scary, romantic, dangerous and heartfelt. I loved how everyone showed up at the airport to welcome Erich and Mitzy back home safe and sound. I loved how even Pyewacket endures losing his dignity by wearing a leash and collar because he missed Mitzy so much. That was really heart warming. I love the characters. I love everything about this book. It is another one i couldn’t put down. I highly recommend this book and series!
Mitzi & Erick travel back to AZ to help her former boss, “Super” Dean. You’ll find out the reason for Mitzi’s nickname as you read. They travel to “the land” where the Shaman Kyle & his followers live. She & Erick may be forced into aura cleansing & sweat lodges, but that doesn’t stop the typical Mitzi snooping. This new series of Harper-Moon Investigations is great. You’ll get to follow all the old characters & meet a few new ones. I’m looking forward to more books
I absolutely love this series and the characters. Mitzy & Eric head to Arizona to help out her old boss. They find themselves in the middle of a big mess that takes them and the reader on a wild ride. I can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend.
I love this series! I come away feeling as though the characters in Pin Cherry Harbor are my friends. I have an emotional investment in each installment.
This book opens with Mitzy receiving a call from her old supervisor at the coffee shop she worked at in Arizona before coming to Pin Cherry Harbor. He begs Mitzy to come to Arizona to find his missing girlfriend who went to a retreat and has not been heard from since. Of course, Mitzy can’t say no. When Mitzy and Erick arrive in Arizona, they go undercover at the retreat. They immediately sense that something isn’t right. When Mitzy finds a body, she also finds herself in peril.
With Erick and Mitzy in Arizona, the Pin Cherry Harbor residents are not as prominent in this book. But Mitzy checks in with her ghostly grandmother AKA Ghost-ma and her brilliant feline Pyewacket via video calls. She also receives guidance from her alchemist mentor, Silas.
I love Trixie’s style of writing. Mitzy and Pyewacket both are quite snarky, giving the reader some chuckles. Loaded with humor, romance, and mystery, I look forward to each visit to Pin Cherry Harbor.
This series is a spinoff from Silvertale’s Mitzy Moon Mysteries series. If you love Harper & Moon Investigations (and how could you not?), then I highly recommend you read the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series. You will learn what brought Mitzy to Pin Cherry Harbor, experience the budding romance between Mitzy and Erick, meet Mitzy’s flamboyant grandmother who just happens to be a ghost, and be overwhelmed by Pyewacket, the caracal sometimes referred to as the demon spawn. These books are perfect for a weekend read.
I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
When Mitzi's old boss from the coffeeshop in Arizona calls hoping to hire the Harper-Moon Investigations duo to try and find out what happened to his missing girlfriend, Mitzi and Erick decide to take the job, traveling to Arizona and going undercover as newlyweds looking to cleanse themselves of previous negativity at a retreat center on Native American lands.
With Mitzy and Erick attending the retreat and looking for the missing woman, what else are they likely to discover about what is really happening behind the scenes at the retreat? Because obviously there will be more going on than meets the eye. And this time, they are on their own. No “ murder board” to lay out the clues they find, and no Pyewacket or Silas around to help them out when they inevitably get into trouble along the way. Can they solve this one on their own? Will they be able to find out what secrets this retreat is hiding?
I received a review copy of this book, and as always, I enjoyed this latest adventure quite a bit. Nothing is ever quite as it first seems when this duo is involved. Yes, Mitzi once again stumbles upon a corpse and finds herself seemingly in over her head, but other than that and, of course, them solving the case, very little goes quite the way you might expect. All in all, making this a very enjoyable cozy mystery.
If you enjoy reading cozy mysteries, stories involving the famous characters from the Harper-Moon series, or have enjoyed any of Ms. Silvertale's other books, then you'll want to read this one.
Mitzy moon has become such a favourite character of mine, I never tire of reading her books full of her crazy antics, she really is one of a kind. From a poor barista in Sedona she ended up an heiress with her own bookshop, flatlet, cars, a caracal and her ghost ma and now she's landed herself a hunk of a husband too. Her luck had changed overnight, so one can imagine her surprise when her ex-boss calls her to investigate the disappearance of his girlfriend. Mitzy convinces Erick to take on the case as they are now working as private investigators, and they make their way to Sedona, a place which brings back so many memories. They head to the sweat lodge and meet the sleazy shaman heading the place where the missing girlfriend was last seen. Mitzy is not cut out for the camping life or the healthy eating regime, however she was hellbent on solving the mystery case. Turns out one murder becomes two and as usual Mitzy nearly loses her life as she is such a big risk taker and things get really dangerous at one point. However Erick remembers his days as a sheriff of Pin Cherry Harbour and the culprits are caught. This is yet another fun and romantic mystery solving novel where we see Mitzy really coming into her paranormal powers, however this time round being away from home, she is missing the rest of her team, Pyewacket and her ghost ma and is dying to return home.
Mitzy Moon is loving everything about her life in Pin Cherry Harbor especially her new husband, Erick Harper. She's come a long way from her previous life, so she's shocked when her previous boss in Sedona calls asking for her help. It seems his girlfriend disappeared after going to a retreat on tribal lands. Mitzy and Erick head to Arizona after making sure they could video chat with Ghost-ma and one bbn know-it-all caracal. Can Mitzy and Erick find answers before the dark energies become too much?
This is the third book in Trixie Silvertale's new Harper and Moon Investigations series which is a spinoff of her Mitzy Moon series. The book's well-written and the characters are fantastic. I love Mitzy and Erick, but Ghost-ma and Pyewacket really add to the stories. The characters that Mitzy and Erick met in this book are great. I like that Erick has come to accept Mitzy's abilities. I was drawn into this magical tale and kept hooked from beginning to end. The mystery was intriguing with lots of twists and turns that'll keep you on your toes. I'm really enjoying this series and am looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I believe is best read in order although, technically, each book could be read on its own.
This book in the series opens up when Mitzy gets a phone call from her old boss in Sedona, Arizona asking for her investigative help to find his missing girlfriend. Reluctant to take the case and return to a place with bad memories, she finally agrees and so Mitzy and PI partner and husband, Erick take off to Arizona. Usually when they take a case, Mitsy's Caracal, Pyewacket and her Ghost-ma have a hand in their investigations in some way or other but this time Mitzy and Erick are on their own. This case takes them to having to stay on Native Lands in a Yurt and having to cleanse their souls to be the best they could be. This is because it was the last place her old boss' girlfriend stayed when she disappeared. As usual, Mitzy takes chances that could get her killed but she has Erick there with her too. But can she find the missing girl? Is she even alive? This is an incredible third book in the series where Mitzy also finds her paranormal gifts getting better. This is a fantastic series that I highly recommend! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Don't get me wrong. I liked this one a lot, but it didn't seem as if Mitzy were at the top of her game. She finally frees herself from the duct tape, gets out of the cave, climbs higher up, retrieves the cell phone, calls the last number instead of 911, then comes back down and just waits for her kidnapper to return with another victim? She could have held the high ground and thrown rocks down on top of him. She finds one small thing left behind by the woman who disappears and she doesn't even bother to find out what it is until after more bad things happen and the bad guys have been arrested? She's gone back to being too stupid to live in this one! I hope Silas puts her through some rigorous retraining!
As always, when the characters leave their usually setting, I miss Ghostma and Cuddlekins. They made occasional brief appearances, but not nearly often enough. Despite all those complaints, I thought the mystery was well written. I enjoyed the woo-woo vibes. I can't help but love Mitzy, flaws and all! Maybe it's the flaws that make her lovable.

I love these characters! Mitzy and Erick are a great couple, and I was thrilled to see them married. Erick is the perfect husband, and Mitzy has grown up quite a bit over the past few years. Their PI business seems to be doing pretty well, but since Mitzy is an heiress, even if it doesn't do well, she and Erick will continue investigating cases.
It was nice to travel with Mitzy and Erick to Arizona, even though I missed the other characters. Her ghostly grandma, her caracal and her mentor/lawyer were in the story a little, so that helped. They are all quirky and crack me up.
Although the mystery was solved pretty quickly, there were still some twists and surprises along the way. Stiffs & Petroglyphs also has plenty of humor and a touch of romance. I like that Trixie leaves the bedroom scenes to the imagination. I can't wait for the next book!
Some very fast moments, maybe it was a bit of a rush to squeeze it all in... I kind of felt a little confused about who and how Ethan was involved, and Kyle's character seemed a bit muddied and oddly jumpy...
Dan, the "SUPERvisor" Mitzy left behind in the coffee shop in Sedona, asks Mitzy to help when his girlfriend Luminous Being goes missing from a sweat lodge on tribal lands. Mitzy and Erick head off to the tribal lands and straight into a hot and steamy yurt, quite literally... can they uncover the truth and stay safe because Mitzy is apt to find herself directly in the firing line at some point...
Things are definitely not right at the base camp, shabby yurts and floor mattresses aside, and "Shaman Kyle" is obviously neither native American nor genuine Shaman but can they follow the leads to find Luminous Being in time...
After following this series since the beginning, it took me a little while to grasp Mitzy Moon and it will take a little adjusting to get used to the altered series as our pair of married sleuths grow together in their new roles. It's the little things like the old set-up when Erick was sheriff with the narky deputy Paulsen that I miss! So it's good when the old gang intermix somehow. I don't go for New Age stuff in any form but the story was great, clever, and exciting. With all the paranormal clues it makes for easier solving and get-outs when the going is tough but it is well-executed and thought out. I'm sure Mitzy gets sharper in every series and the humour and one-liners are great! As always, another winner!
Another excellent Mitzy and Erick adventure. Mitzy receives a call from her old boss in Arizona. It seems his girlfriend disappeared while at a sweat lodge retreat. Mitzy and Erick decide to go check it out. Erick wants to see the Grand Canyon anyway. When they arrive at the retreat, Mitzy finds that they not only have to do the sweat lodge, but they have to eat only vegetables. No french fries or hamburgers! How will she survive? After trying to get answers from the other retreat members, Mitzy decides to go exploring. While out she stumbles upon some pretty strong clues and is taken hostage. Can Erick find her in time? Can Mitzy talk her way out of this one? She doesn't have Pye and Ghost-Ma to help her this time.
Mitzy gets a most unexpected phone call from her old boss in Arizona. His girlfriend has gone missing. She was last seen at a retreat on a native American reservation. These retreats were conducted by someone calling himself Shaman Kyle, who uses sweat lodges to supposedly help people. The local tribe has no idea exactly what he is doing.
Mitzy and her husband Eric, go undercover at the retreat to see what they can find. With help from her own psychic powers, her alchemist friend and her ghost-ma, and her half-wild caracal, Mitzy finds herself up to her neck in mystery.
Book 3 in the Harper and Moon Investigation series and Mitzy and Erick have a case to solve in Arizona. There is plenty of laugh out loud moments and I absolutely adore Pye and Grams, the ‘phoom’ system is genius!
I really enjoyed the couple of chapters from Erick’s pov, and I think Mitzy is definitely a good ‘bad influence’ on him.
Definitely have an afternoon free as once you pick this up you won’t want to leave until it’s finished, it is a fun and engaging cozy mystery suitable for most people in my opinion. No bad language or explicit scenes and characters that you fall in love with. Definitely recommend.
It's always a great read with Miss Trixie Silvertale, and with each book you expect the next one just can't be any better, but she always outdoes herself. This newest Harper and Moon Investigation Mystery is no exception. When Mitzy gets a call from her former SUPERvisor Dean requesting her assistance in locating a missing person, she's wheels up the next day with Erick heading for her old stomping ground in Sedona AZ. But once again, Mitzy finds herself in over her head with secrets that someone wants to keep buried, and they're secrets worth killing for.

Mitzy Moon and her hunky husband find themselves back in Arizona searching for a woman who disappeared while on a "retreat."
Find out if Pyewacket, Sirius, and Ghost-ma be able to help Mitzy and Erick solve the mystery from so far away? Will Mitzy survive without burgers and fries? It's going to be a wild ride! So tighten your seat belts for a fun, page turning adventure and be prepared to stay up long enough to read to the end!
This story could only be crafted by Trixie Silvertale! Who else could possibly make solving a crime so unique and so much fun?
I don't normally write reviews for all the books I read but I feel differently about this one. It's just became a pleasure to catch up every few books and binge read them. The writer is very creative in not only the world creation but the p!it and stories are not just a new twist on an old tale but refreshing short adventures that always leave me wanting the next book as soon as possible! I highly recommend this series especially if you are a binge reader that loves to squeeze in a full tale without a lot of time.
Loved this Mitzy Moon and Harper mystery. The suspense makes this a page turner, but, do not turn those pages too quickly or you will miss the views and the sensations of Sedona. As always yep, there is a missing person, a murder but, Harper has a new Mitzy experience. I cannot wait for their next journey, The description of the now a day Grand canyon is spot on, but, having been there 60 years ago, it was kind of sad to read.
loved this book! Mitzi gets a call from her old boss, Dean. His girlfriend is missing and he wants to hire Mitzi and Erick to find out what happened to her. This one is set in Arizona at a retreat and there's some funny business going on. Definitely a 'must read' if you're following this series. If you're not, you should definitely check it out. There's lots of fun and laughs along the way.
Harper and Moon are off to Mitzy's old stomping grounds of Sedona, Arizona because one of her former boss's girlfriend has disappeared. As Mitzy and Erick delve into a retreat for spiritual awakening, they seem to find more than one secret and Mitzy finds herself in trouble up to her snowy white hair. Fabulous read!!!!
Another amazing addition to the series! I love Mitzy and Erik. It’s so cool how they go outside of Pn Cherry to do their investigations. I mean, how many murders do you want in a small town?! There were so many suspects to choose from. Things were not as I thought they were. Twisted is the best word for these spiritual gurus! Loved the book!
Mitzy receives a request from her old barista boss and the next thing you know Harper and Moon are off to Arizona to search for a missing girlfriend. They spend a nice night in the hotel Mitzy always dreamed of staying, then off the sweat lodge. Mitzy gets a chance to use her special abilities, but wait will Erick pick up on them? Another great Mitzy and Harper mystery.
