A collection of various cowboy stories from various media, including books and songs.

I think this is one of those reads that gets you interested in reading the original work.

Nice easy way to start the new year, and some good writing, too, considering we have the likes of Proulx, McMurtry, Stephen Crane, Leonard, and a few potboiler classics guys like Max Brand and Luke Short. Peter Glassman did a good editing job to gather this group so it wasn’t just a lot of L’Amour-level (though Louis is in there) pulp fiction. Annie Proulx’s is grizzly and funny at the same time. A couple of other female authors I hadn’t heard of, but nice that women like to write this stuff sometimes.

Including some non-fiction pieces, like the one on the life of the rodeo cowboy helped round things out.

It's all about the artwork in this one, Moser is a moody genius with a powerful set of engravings here, typically highlighting the faces and the minute features of the foreground. Am not a cowboy fan but the darkness drew me in!

Love westerns, and loved these short stories and excerpts from famous writers of westerns. Good stuff.
