**** 3 1/2 Nymphomaniac Stars ****

Book provided by author in exchange for an honest review

I was a bit leery going into this book because of the content and honestly, I had a hard time with parts of it because I felt so bad for Reid.

I got through it though hoping that it would end in a HEA moment and I wasn't disappointed.

Samantha is in a relationship with Reid (who is much older) but she is also a nymphomaniac and Reid has a hard time satisfying her.  So what does he do?  He finds her other men to have sex with while he either sits in the room with them or trusts Samantha to do right.

The first "other man" we are introduced to is Max and in the beginning he is easy to like but between him and Samantha an obsession grows and their relationship turns poisonous. Theirs is a relationship built on sex - not on feelings or love.

So we have two men that are extreme opposites - Reid being the caring loving man who will do ANYTHING for Samantha and then Max who is arrogant and only cares about the sex.

Welcome Jim,  Jim is everything Max isn't.  The sex is just as hot as it is with Max and he cares about Samantha like Reid.

Throw in a murder investigation and drama with other women when it comes to Max and this book keeps your attention drawn to it.

ARRANGED From Arlene Valle

Maybe she had what every woman wanted. Maybe she had the libido most women wished they’d had sometime during their life. Rich men can be good for you. Is it wrong to love more than one man at the same time? Three men, three different age groups. Each love affair for different reasons. ~Arlene Valle

(Nice Tag line Huh?)
It occurred to me reading this that I haven't really done much Erotica, strange as I tend to write it myself. Anyhoo! I picked up ARRANGED and low and behold finished it in 2 days!...

(Yeah yeah, broke m' rule... Again... It's my blog and I'll read what I want to...)
Arranged is an excellent example of what Erotic Fiction should be. It is by far not your average Saturday night pump & dump under the bleachers. No... It's a story with beautiful settings, that transport you from California and Texas to Isla Margarita in the Caribbean. The tale tells of the exploits of one Samantha (Sam) Beck as she fights to rid herself of her Nymphomania.

(Yeah Boys... I said Nymphomania)
She is in a relationship with Reid Harris, a handsome, debonair man, who adores her and understands that with his age (early 50's) comes limitations as to Sam's condition. So he helps in screening to find her someone who can fuck her like he can't. Did I mention he's filthy rich?

(I know #firstworldproblems at their finest... Right?)
Sam loves Reid, but she can't wrap her head around monogamy. Especially after she wraps her long legs around a NYC Lawyer, Reid introduces her to for such occasions. So now we meet Max, Reid's choice for Sam. He's hesitant only for so long as it takes our girl's dress to hit the carpet.

(Men... Soo Easy)
Sam is tall, blonde and has a rockin' body, who could say no? He proceeds to plow her in front of Reid in their suite, and everyone seems to enjoy themselves. Especially Sam. Reid, not the idiot you might think decides Max may prove useful, so he encourages their ravishing attractions. The bigger problem however seems to be max and Sam's growing obsession for each other. Max is obvious in Palm Springs and then practically panting on the Isla Margarita, where the nights aren't the only reason people wind up needing a shower...

This Book is WAAAAY out of the box. It is about Samantha who is in a (relationship) with Reid.
Samantha Loves Reid, However... she is what you would call a Nymph. Yes, she is a sex addict.
through this book you watch Samantha fight the urges she has inside. You also see how her relationship is with Reid and latter on with Max and Jim. Samantha has a different relationship with each one.
With Reid she was in what I guess you would say is the (Real) relationship. they live together and he would do just about anything for her. (even find her men to sate her hunger so to speak). Reid would give her the moon if he could. I really Loved Reid but at the same time felt bad for him due to even though he had Sam, he also didn't in a way.
Max was the Hot sex that was more physical the emotional. in the begining I liked Max however, after a while I really hated him!! Yes he was hot and the sex was great but he was such an ass!!
Then there is Jim. I really liked Jim as well. He to was very sweet and kind like Reid but at the same time had the Hot passion like Max. He was like a combo of the both without the asshole in him. Even though you can see a connection with Reid and Sam you also so a strong connection with Jim and Sam.
There is a HEA at the end of this story and it was not what I thought it would be. I have to say I was shocked! This is a story you have to stand outside the box to read because there is not the hero and love story we are use to reading here. It really is a story of a girl finding herself, love, and passion in places you may think crazy. but over all it was a good read for the person looking for something outside the box.
Go into this book with a OPEN mind and you just may find yourself with a smile by the end

I'm really happy I gave this book a chance!
To be honest, I was scared at first... but now? I'm actually glad I read it and here's why.

First of all, this is not your typical romance book... it's so much more. Lately, in all the books I've read, the hero is very much against anyone else "being" with the heroine. That's so not the case here. You see, Samantha is what you could call a sex addict, a nymph...and Reid, bless his heart, accepts and understands this. He even makes sure her needs are always satisfied, even if he isn't the one doing it... so to speak. Enter Max and later on, Jim.

Samantha had a different type of relationship with each one. She was officially Reid's girlfriend, in fact, they even lived together. I felt like she loved Reid genuinely and deeply. And I must say, so-did-I!!!!
"All I see is you, princess. All I see is you." - Reid

With Max, there was more of a raw and HOT passion between them. I honestly don't think it really went beyond just that physical need. They couldn't get enough of each other yet they both knew they could never be anything more...for many, many reasons. Reasons you'll find out throughout the book. Let's just say I had a love/hate relationship with Max.
"Let it go, baby. Let me feel you while I'm still deep inside you."- Max

As for Jim, I have to admit I really liked him. He was so kind, sweet, and attentive with Samantha. You could say their connection was more on the emotional side. This caused them to sort of developed a more significant relationship when compared to what she had with Max. Jim needed that bond with Samantha as much as she needed him which is why he treasured her so much.

Overall, the story line had a bit of everything. It didn't only have romance and passion, but also mystery and even suspense. I found myself unable to stop reading during some parts, feeling curious and wanting to see how things turned out. There were quite a few plot twists along the story line that kept things interesting. Also, if I could rate this book on hotness alone, I'd give it TEN STARS!!! This is quite the HOT BOOK! HOT HOT HOT!

As for the ending, yes, there's a HEA!!!! Samantha ends up with ONE of them :)
Now, even though I feel like it was a bit rushed, I finished reading with a huge smile across my face. To say I was happy with how it all wrapped up is an understatement. It was what I hoped all along would end up happening...well, sort of. I mean, Arlene included a little twist right at the end that made it even better, at least for me.

My advice to future readers would be to go into this book with an open mind. You never know, you might actually end up loving it... I did. :) So thank you Arlene for giving me a chance to read your debut novel!!! Like I said at the beginning, I'm so happy I read it.
"...whatever happens in her life she will always come back to me, and I will always be there, waiting for her, welcoming her back."

****UPDATE:****
I literally JUST found out from the author that there will be a sequel!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SQUEEE!!!!! I'm sooooo very much looking forward to it!!! More info coming soon...

I have been meaning to pick up this beautiful looking book for what seems like forever. The air of mystery and suspense contained in that solitary pearl in a shell really got to me.

When I started reading I wan't disappointed. I was thrown straight into the action. Sam is in her late twenties, blonde and gorgeous, she's also a nyphomaniac. No, I mean a real all out medically diagnosed sex addict. Her boyfriend, Reid, is a fifty something, stinking rich, handsome devil. He knows fine well that he'll never be enough for her.

The book starts when Reid recruits lawyer, Max, to become Sam's lover. It's glaringly obvious their attraction for each other is through the roof, and Reid doesn't seem to mind. In fact he hires him to work on a huge building/development project on Isla Margarita.

I'm assuming the author has some ties with Isla Margarita, a large portion of the book is set there. She describes the place so vividly that you can almost feel the hot breeze blowing on your face and the sand streaming between your toes. However, it's described in present tense although the book is written in past tense. I can understand where that has come from, the island exists, so it was written like that because 'it is'. Unfortunately, the tense shift only served to pull me out of the story somewhat.

With a brand new job, Max emigrates to Isla Margarita. He unceremoniously dumps Sam, thinking that sleeping with his new bosses wife would no longer bode well. However, the relationship between them is far from over. Max turns into an epic asshole, I wound up with a strong dislike for him.

Sam in true sex addict style doesn't just stick with one extra lover. She seduces Jim too. He's an ex-cop who moved to the Island and started a successful fishing charter business. Oh boy! You can only imagine the fun they had on his boat! There is an element of murder mystery factored in. I'm guessing it was placed to introduce Jim to the story, because if you're looking for a murder mystery you've come to the wrong book.

Valle is completely out of the box with Arranged. It's like nothing I've ever read before. Her sex scenes are absolutely mind-blowing, unique, fresh, and inspirational. They don't carry the story though, they compliment it. Her writing and plot are as smooth as glass. As captivating as a diamond glinting in the sun. Until...

Excuse my mini rant here. It is a whole other blog post. In as much to say that the books ending is at least another book. I loved this book so much that I did something I never do. I went to the author and asked her why on earth did she end the book that way? Although I understand why she ended the book the way she did, I don't agree with it. It was an ending that showed that the author doesn't trust her outstanding ability.

Arlene Valle is an accomplished and fantastic author. She's got it all. A thrilling story, beyond superb sex scenes, and three dimensional characters that I crave to see more of. Luckily, I know she's planning more. For that I immensely grateful.

Bearing everything I've said in mind. I award Arranged four rare and beautiful pearls.

This novel has a huge market in 2013. It falls firmly into the erotica category and the next time someone asks me what they should read after Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One of the Fifty Shades Trilogy, I’m going to suggest Arranged by Arlene Valle. The sexual acts in the narrative are usually one man and one woman and in only a few exceptions ventures into ground that would cause new erotica readers to cringe. Samantha’s life does turn bad and turns to sexual violence that she doesn’t ever really address within the course of the story kind of rationalizing and assimilating the experience.

There’s a minor mystery story-line but for the most part is one woman’s sexual adventure. The characters are extremely well outlined. Samantha connects emotion to sex and uses both sex and emotion in “earning” her lifestyle. Reid loves her and indulges her. She’s his pet that he calls Princess and smiles indulgently as she has fun with other men. He says that he’d like to be her only man and the only one satisfying her but when he’s not outright contracting for her needs or satisfying them himself, he’s sending her into situations where she’s going to stray.

If you like erotica, Arranged is a well-written example of the genre.

This book is out of my normal reading, I am really hard on erotica books, I really do not care for them. What I find to be lacking in most are plot, story, well just about everything but sex. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind the sex I just like to have some story with it. With this in mind my review is as followed: I found this to be filled with twist and turns. A lot of emotions, caring, and drama long with people torn doing wrong when they want to do right. The plot thickens around 3 men and a women who is Nymph who loves one man who is too old and can’t fill her sexual needs.

Reid I found to be a totally loving and giving man. I didn’t feel sorry for him, he knew what he was getting into. He loved Samantha so much that he would do anything to keep her even if that means other men. I don’t find that strange at all that he watched over her to make sure she was safe.

Max he is something else, you can feel the passion between him and Samantha. It isn’t always easy to walk away from someone sometimes you just click even when you know it isn’t the best for you or even the correct reasons. We always want what we can’t have or what is bad for us. I could totally understand this, have been there before myself.

Jim is a sweetheart who is just getting by. Just your normal guy who wants a normal life. He also wants Samantha. Their relationship is more of an emotional one.

Samantha wants Reid but Reid being older just isn’t able to be the stud she needs. She tries her best and feels bad when she turns to others to give her the sex she craves. He has it all money, he is strong and gives her everything what more could a women want. She doesn’t understand why that isn’t enough for you. She seeks medical help but it’s hard and life has its way of changing your life.

This book has it all mystery, murder, sex (OH MY GOD does it have sex) lots of passion that you can feel right through the books. It has romance and for me that is what makes this outstanding read because with all sex you must have romance, love and caring. This book delivers this and so much more. It’s ending is wow so surprising I really did not see that coming.

If you are looking for a hot erotica read with twist and turns to keep you interested this is the book for you.

This is not your typical monogamous relationship story. Samantha has the libido a man, and what’s wrong with that???? Absolutely nothing. Samantha was at a B list Hollywood party when she met Reid; the one who saves her from possibly going down the wrong track. They hit it off and had chemistry from the beginning. They just clicked. Reid is much older than Samantha and he wants to do nothing else than to please her in any way he can. He knows he can’t always satisfy her sexually since her appetite is non quenchable. That is where they introduce another into the mix to keep her happy.
Samantha struggles with being a nymph and does’nt always know how to handle it. She wants Reid to be enough for her and doesn’t want to lose him. In this story you get to watch Samantha go through therapy to work on her urges she virtually struggles with every day. She really tries to be with Reid and Reid alone, she just doesn’t have it in her.
In this book you get to really understand the characters and how they each play a role in her life. From, Reid taking care of her and loving her truly unconditionally with her “flaws” and all to when Max is needed to fill in on occasional nights. It really makes you feel pain for Reid that he can’t be the only one for Samantha like he wishes he could. However Reid knows her and knows that can’t happen and he really is ok with that. So if Reid is the one who loves her and condones what she has to go through to stay happy, then why not just be happy for Reid. He is the one she goes home with at the end of the day as long as he isn’t on business trip.
This really was a great story without it trying to make it out like a “fairytale” romance. Nobody’s perfect and indeed Samantha is anything but. In the end Samantha does what she sees fit at the time. Was it the right choice??? Who knows that’s personal opinion, but Reid understands her and they why’s that’s all that matters!!! The author did a good job at getting your emotions involved in what the characters are feeling and perhaps the reasons for why they acted on how they did. You love them when you should and want to slap them when you should!!!!

A MUST READ~

The pearl on the cover gives way to the emotional rollercoaster you will be on in this wonderfully written book. This book has it all, drama, mystery, and lots of hot sexy love scenes.

What makes this book amazing is the captivating words and emotions that shine through these strong characters. You have Reid, a wealthy man who has it all, except his leading love has needs he just can't meet. Samantha is a woman who has needs, to my surprise her wonder man helps her find suitable men who can fill all of her wants and desires. Enter Max~ yes, dear Max, boy he can make the pages sizzle as he finds raw lust and desire with Samantha.

The story takes many twists and turns, the drama that unfolds you never see coming. In many chapters I found myself wide eyed and somewhat surprised with what I was reading. Loved every second of it. The ending was the biggest surprise of all, did not see it coming.

Flipping the last page made the whole book just come together in a way I could not of predicted. I must say it was a present surprise.

A book I will recommend to all of my friends~Can't wait to see what Arlene comes up with next.

I really wanted to like this story more but I never really connected with Samantha. She is a nymphomaniac but at times it doesn't seem like she is - I never understood where/what the driving force was for her which made it hard to accept all of her choices. She is in love with Reid and he understands he can't fulfill her sexual needs so he finds other men to have sex with her (sometimes he watches). Enter Max, Sam connects to him differently and likes his more "dominating" sexual interactions. Max starts dating someone else and gets her pregnant yet he and Sam still hook-up. Sam then meets Jim and they start having sex but Reid doesn't know though he does figure it out. The sexual encounters with all the men are amazing and there are some wonderful parts to the story. Ultimately I didn't know who to root for or what outcome should happen. What did happen at the end surprised me. I am glad I read this story because not every book will connect with you as a reader and it had been awhile since this happened to me. At the end of the story I just felt a little empty/lost.

I read this book because I was asked to, even though it is not a genre I enjoy. Arranged is sure to thrill the erotica crowd. There is some mystery but the plot basically spins around one woman and her sexual adventures as she discovers who she is.

I was NOT expecting as much sex as this short book held! The triangle was weird but I understood it completely. I understood each of the characters and their role in the story. I did not end up liking Max at all. I was shocked with the ending and am dying to know what happened in between.
