Will Work for Love

Rate this book
When Hurricane Destiny sweeps across the island of St. Thomas in September, the East family isn't worried about their vacation home. After all, a property management company handles insurance and repairs. Just to be sure, though, they send maid of honor Whitney Oliver to St. Thomas for a two-week vacation just prior to the Christmas Eve wedding of their daughter Taylor. Instead of a tropical vacation, Whitney finds an estate heavily damaged and untouched by the contractor who cashed the checks. With only two weeks to pull the venue together for a wedding in paradise, she accepts the help of a sexy islander with an amazing skill for construction. Chris Maxwell, owner of Blue Isle Construction, is blown away by Whitney the moment she arrives on the island. Putting the East family estate together board by board is the only thing he can do to help Whitney-and himself. Working side by side and day and night by the sparkling blue water's edge, Whitney and Chris fall hard for each other. Hurricane Destiny brought them together, but will secrets surrounding Chris' construction company tear them apart?

Sometimes it's nice to read a romance story. When it is set on an island I enjoy it even more. It is an easy read.

Tropica! Paradise

This love story was fun, invigorating and full of tropical details. These two were made for each other but had enough angst to keep you going.

When Whitney Oliver arrives at St. Thomas, she expects to enjoy a two-week vacation while tying up loose ends for her best friend, Taylor's wedding to occur at the family estate. She first bumps into Chris Maxwell ( fan yourself with your hand kind of leading man) while trying to get her luggage through a revolving door, and there is a mutual attraction. She discovers her vacation isn't going to be as relaxed as she'd planned, and the heat gets turned up between her and Chris when he volunteers to help her get the place ready for a perfect Christmas Eve destination wedding. But he's left out a few crucial details about his identity, and even though they fall for one another, it's going to be rough sailing. An enjoyable romance; a light, and easy beach read. I enjoyed Whitney and Chris's journey. I would recommend it.

I enjoyed this book and I thought the locale and the characters were likeable. I felt that they had very good chemistry. While I appreciated the reason behind some of the actions, I wasn't big on the subterfuge, no matter how good intentioned.

I am glad it all came out in the end and that it worked out well.

A fun take on Robin Hood. Whitney meets Chris and sparks fly. She's come to St Thomas to organise her best friends wedding. Chris owns the local building company doing repairs for locals after a cyclone. A fun story with likeable characters.
