I didn't really care for the first two stories in this anthology, though Lisa Simpson's Book Club made up for the rest of the book. I loved the Simpsons' takes on classics like Rime of the Middle-Aged Mariner, The Little Engine That Couldn't Care Less, Lisa Longsocks and Something Pretty Bad This Way is Coming!

If you're planning to read this one, I'd recommend starting at page 58.

I am sure I read some of the stories in here as a kid and it was still entertaining reading them as an adult! I feel like the Simpsons comics exist in their own pocket dimension that vaguely reference moments in the show, but also has a million other bizarre storylines going on. I definitely understand the referential humour more than when I was nine!

Another fantastic collection of Simpsons Comics!

The first story is a parody of that classic 80s cartoon (and most recent reboot) DuckTales! Smithers is unable to go on Mr. Burns' annual treasure hunt. Thus, Homer and the kids are hired to help Burns navigate a slew of obstacles such as a giant squid and underwater bandits.

Next up, Lisa seeks to find a name for herself while Marge is hired to be the next weather girl on the local news.

Fans then experience a number of parodies as we sit in on the latest meeting of the Springfield Book Club.

Lastly, Bart, Milhouse and Martin tour the town dump on the hunt for a fabled horde of collectible garbage.

As I continue to say, Simpsons Comics manages to be what The Simpsons TV show hasn't been in quite a while- funny. Well, this most recent season has been humorous. Maybe it's because all of the talent who used to work at the new defunct Bongo Comics are writing for the show now.

This collection of Simpsons Comics reiterates a pressing need in the comic book industry- namely more Simpsons Comics. Bongo went out of business because of the high cost of shipping and printing. Since Disney now owns The Simpsons, either IDW or Dark Horse needs to take on the role as the main supplier of Springfield hi-jinx.

Not all of this book was pure comedy gold. For one thing, the table of contents lists a story called 'The Duffman Cometh.' However, that story is nowhere to be found. I'm not sure if Bongo made a publishing error here or not. Could it be that "Duffman' the true name of 'Lisa's Book Club' which I assume was instead published in the previous story's lieu? Or is this proof that another publisher was needed to better navigate the exploits of America's favorite dysfunctional family?

Come on, House of Mouse! You do this! Bring back Simpsons Comics! Do it well and I'll forgive you for the last 2 Star Wars episodes!

Simpson Comics Supernova by Matt Groening is another look into the Simpsons' crazy and ridiculous life that is a part of many people's lives. This book starts off with Bart, Lisa, Homer, and Maggie's adventure on Mr.Burns' scandal that he pulls on this family. Mr.Burns takes them over water to find a hidden treasure and they succed but not before Mr.Burns turns Murderous and decides to murder the family and take the treasure for himself. Then goes Homer Houdini with his magical power to slip out of any restraint due to his high body fat and diet. He quickly becomes famous through Krusty the Clown but crashes and burns making his popularity disappear in the blink of an eye. This happens all the while Lisa trys to create a new vegetable. She finally finds it as a mushroom on her father's back. These stories plus little bits around the book, Milhouse's father as an anchorman, and a bag a chips completely fills out this story of laughter. I reccomend this story to Simpson and comic book lovers.

This one had longer stories than usual, but worked well in that format. The first story was a throwback to Disney's Uncle Scrooge comics as the Simpsons and Mr. Burns went on a treasure hunt. Carl Barks and Don Rosa were both namedropped, even. There were also some parodies of famous books such as Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Chronicles of Narnia. Overall a strong volume.

I liked how it showed mini stories through comic book form with the Simpsons, I just wished some of the stories were longer instead of a bunch of 2 page long entries. Other than that this book was really good!

Not my favorite Bongo Simpsons Comic. As usual it's not as funny or clever as the older ones.

Simpsons Comics Supernova by Matt Groening. this book was a series of short stories about the Simpsons an american Family that is known for their cartoon television show that has been on for nearly 30 years. In this 120+ page book there were 10 or so stories, these stories are also Tv episodes. I really like an easy read because I am not the person that gets into a book. I only read this book during the Mandatory 15 minutes of Reading at the beginning of class.

Simpsons Supernova
Matt Groening
Graphic novel

I recommend Simpsons Supernova because this is about the Simpsons family the husband Homer is always lazy and doesn’t want money or a job. Homer’s wife Marge has a job and that job is the news reporter. The kids Bart,Lisa, and the baby Maggie their letting Homer get a job but Bart is too cool to be helping also he always hangs out with his best friend Milhouse and Mark. Lisa is the leader of the kids but Maggie is the smart one but also a baby.

I give this book 6 out of 5 stars.

I've gotten a bit away from The Simpsons in recent years, and while I know the comic adventures stray away quite a bit from the show in some key regards, this, like any sort of episodic, not-too-canon-and-not-too-linear comic, is hit and miss. Too often, it's the most all-over-the-place stories that end up having the most laughs, which isn't really great, but this is not like The Walking Dead or Saga in that you're looking for much more than escapism, either.

This was a fun collection of Simpsons comics. It all seems rather random on which issues were picked. Not in anyway do they relate to a theme or to the title of the book; Supernova. Also in the contents it lists The Duffman Cometh on page 85 yet this story is actually Lisa Simpson’s Book Club. I find this mistake puzzling considering how many people were involved in publishing this book. Still the comics are fun and easy to read.

Solid comics with clever writing. Great for readers of all ages, although adults will enjoy tales such as "UNCLE BURN$" (which is a fun spoof of the work of Carl Barks) on an entirely different level. Bonus points for Evan Dorkin's tale of toy collector madness "Down in the Dumps," which finds Bart, Milhouse and Comic Book Guy attempting to find a lost treasure horde of thrown away pop culture collectibles hidden in a secret lair of the Springfield Town Dump.

I needed something mindless...and this delivered. I like that the Simpsons comics stay true to the show, in that I can hear the voices of the familiar characters in their words and actions. Lots of cultural references in this one - not sure how much kids would (or should) get out of this, but it was a fun read for me.

A better-than-average Simpsons comics compilation. I like the homage to classic Duck Tales, and the book parodies are particularly fun.
