If You Only Knew by Dixie Lee Brown is the third book in her Trust No One series. A fast-paced, intriguing tale of loss, love, bad guys, and danger. I actually forgot how much I loved tales of SEAL's/mercenaries/tough guys as it's been a couple of months since I've read one. It's the extra mix of hotness saving peoples lives or keeping the country safe that makes them so great! Loved this book!

Rayna Dugan has suffered the loss of her parents and then her older brother and knows she can't handle any more loss. So she's cutting ties with Ty Whitlcok before she falls any further in love with him. His job is dangerous and she can't risk her heart any more.

Ty's world comes crashing down when Rayna tells him she does not love him and is ready to leave and go to college. He had hopes and dreams of eventually having the picket fence and the loving wife and Rayna was who he could picture in that role. When he gets called into his bosses office and witnesses a "proof-of-life" video from Rayna's kidnappers and receives specific instructions to follow to keep her alive he knows his past has finally caught up with him and is about to ruin everything.

So where has this author been hiding out? There are so many authors out there that it kind of gets overwhelming when you have to choose which book you want to read. This is one happy girl because I found a great one! Now I just need to play catch up and read the first two for me to be fully satisfied. :)

Alrighty folks, we have two love birds who can't get enough of each other. Unfortunately, Rayna's brother was killed and that led her to this compound of her brother's closest comrades. She wants revenge on the people who killed him. That's great. Girl's a badass. I'm assuming that revenge was taken already in another book because it doesn't happen here but I'm cool with that because we got to focus on Ty and Rayna and their obvious love for one another. Anyway, so Rayna decides that she needs to move on with her life and go to college like her brother always wanted for her. In order to make a clean break with Ty, she says some kind of mean things to get him to back off but he knows she's lying but there is nothing he won't do for her. *swoon* Guys, take note of that. She's in college for about six weeks when her life decides to become one big, ole crazy city. That poor girl was put through the ringer in this novel but she came out on the other side, slightly beaten, but not defeated. Definitely take a strong woman to go through all that and still think positively. But she has Ty there to help her along the way.

And everything's better with Ty. I mean, who wouldn't want that sexy man meat coming to your rescue? That was her own, personal knight in shining armor. Now I do want to point out that she wasn't a helpless little wallflower either. Rayna beat a couple big guys up, so I say again, girl's a badass. But Ty is one of the key players in shutting down the danger. I'm surprised he didn't have a mental breakdown with everything that happened with Rayna. But he is strong on the inside and the outside which we say to the very end. Can I get my own personal Ty to watch over me?

The story was really great. The pace kept moving appropriately so there weren't dull spots where I'm kind of skimming through paragraphs until something interesting happens. The secondary characters were beyond awesome. I am crossing my fingers that Nate gets his own book. I fell in love with him during this read too. He's just so yummy! What goes along best with yumminess? Action. I am a lover of romantic suspense and this definitely had it's fair share which I loved! And as I said before, I'm going to have to read the first two because those guys seem dreamy. :)

This is the second novel in the Trust No One series that I’ve read, and just like with When I Find You, Brown keeps her readers engaged. The plot is suspenseful and has some eyebrow-raising revelations that add unexpected twists to keep the story from being predictable. In the midst of the danger, the hero and heroine struggle to rekindle their stalled relationship, which has never really progressed beyond friendship althoughtheir feelings for each other run much deeper.

If You Only Knew features Rayna and Ty, two members of Joe Reynold’s team of mercenaries who do contract work for U.S. governmental agencies. The prologue opens with Rayna explaining to Ty that she’s leaving the team and him behind to pursue a different career and lifestyle. She’s afraid of how emotionally attached she’s become to Ty, and, after the death of her brother who was also in this same line of work, she doesn’t think she would be able to handle the pain of losing someone else she loved. Unfortunately, Rayna gets pulled back into Ty’s life after she is abducted by a Russian Mobster, an enemy from Ty’s past, with unfinished business to settle.

Although this novel can be read as a standalone, I wish that I had read All or Nothing, before I began this book because I felt that, perhaps, I had missed important details on how the death of Rayna’s brother truly impacted her life since her grief seems to still hold her back from living a fulfilling life. I especially enjoy romances where the couple is in the early stages of their relationship, experiencing the excitement and anticipation of getting to know each other and when the sexual tension is the most intense, but I didn’t get to witness that with Rayna and Ty since the story opens with their breakup.

Despite missing the newness of Rayna and Ty’s romance, I appreciated the existing level of chemistry and sexual tension between them as their relationship becomes more intimate. Rayna and Ty do have one explicit, sizzling love scene that is also sweet because their union is based upon more than just lust. It’s obvious they are in love since readers get their alternating viewpoints in the narration, but after a while, it became frustrating to watch them go through a lot of unnecessary angst because they aren’t open and honest about their feelings and insecurities.

When Andre Komarov abducts Rayna as a means of blackmail, Ty and the rest of the team come to her rescue, and Ty must deal with his unresolved connection to this ruthless criminal.
Even though Ty worries he may lose Rayna once his secrets are revealed, he is still determined to protect her until Andre is no longer a threat. Much of the action is focused on rescuing Rayna from multiple kidnappings which eventually becomes overkill. However, the climactic final showdown between Ty and Andre is great and kept me riveted the entire time.

Rayna and Ty are surrounded by a great cast of characters. Ty’s former partner, Nate is one of my favorite, and based on the events in this book, I think his character may continue to play a role in the series. Brown also lays the foundation for a potential love story between Nate and another member of Joe’s team, which I hope will be featured in a future installment. The heroes from the previous books, Joe and Walker, continue to play prominent roles in the series, and I like being able to stay connected to these characters.

I do plan to backtrack and read the first book so I can fully experience the entirety of this series, yet, I also think readers can still enjoy If You Only Knew without having read the previous novels.

Rayna is trying to get her life back on track. She has went back to school and trying to get over Ty. She is still a deadly woman but even she has her hands full when a criminal takes her to get to Ty. Now she has to rely on Ty to help her stay safe. Ty knew the day would come when his past would come calling. he never thought they would take Rayna to get his attention. He loves her but knows she wanted to move on but now he doesn't want to let her go. He has to convince her to stay with him.

Rayna is tough and uses all her might to stay out of the hands of the criminals. She never gives up no matter what. She has tragedy in her past and it helped her become stronger. She thinks she knows what she wants in her future but she really doesn't know. She may not be one to run from danger but she does run from love. Ty is smart, sexy and is one tough man. He has some secrets in his past and he will do anything to protect Rayna. I loved both of these characters.

From the start I couldn't put this book down. I fell righ into Rayna and Ty's life and had to see what would happen not only with criminals being after Rayna but them caring for each other and afraid to get close. There is so much danger in this book. The criminals won't stop until they get what they want and honestly it shows how strong Rayna is that she never gives up. She continues to fight back constantly. You also see she has a softer sexy side to her. Ty has to face a lot of difficult decisions in this book but he will do whatever to get Rayna and keep her safe. The good thing about them is they don't get along perfect. Rayna lets Ty know she won't just sit back. There is also some laughs in this book. I love when they shop for Rayna. Of course there is the hotness between Ty and Rayna but you see just how special it is to both of them. You really connect with both characters. I have to say the author does an excellent job with twist and turns. Several things happen I didn't see coming and I even felt bad at one tome for one of the bad guys. If you like an action packed book that you will read in one sitting because it is so good be sure to pick this one up.

Well Ladies...Dixie Lee does it again, with a great cast of characters (some of my favorites from the Trust No One Series...Walker perhaps).

Great storyline with plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing, and the chemistry between Ty and Rayna was sweet, sexy and ready to combust! I love when I read a Romance Suspense and I am kept on my toes and that's what you will get with IF YOU ONLY KNEW, the newest release in the TRUST NO ONE Series.

Kinda hoping that Nate will get his own book...Guess I'll have to wait and find out!

Trying to move on!

Ty and Rayna's story kept me st the edge of my seat. These two have issues to get over, workout or possibly move on from. Rayna knows she had to move on. Unfortunately, Ty's pasts come a knocking loudly. These two are very intense. I loved that Joe and Walker are in this story. I hope there is a story for Nate and Alex and there are updates of babies as well.

3.5 stars!

The Story:

Rayla and Ty have been together, building friendship and possibly love, while being part of a mercenary team. Until the day they weren’t, when Rayla decided to pack up her bags, leave that life behind, and fulfill her dreams, and that of her deceased brother’s for her to go back to school. But months later, a kidnapping, hers to be exact, threatens to bring her back into that dangerous life and into the same orbit as Ty’s again.

Ty, on the other hand, has decided to leave their mercenary team as well, not only because his past might put everyone he cares for in danger, but because the very place where they live remind him so much of Rayla and that, he could bear no more. But a video sent to their leader, one showing Rayla in captivity by a Russian mafia boss, one who wants something very badly from Ty, his heart leaves no room for doubts or recriminations, only the desire to save the woman he has loved for a while now.

My Thoughts:

I really like the mix of romance, suspense, and action in this book. The pacing went so well and at times it had me at the edge of my seat in anticipation of what will happen next.

What I like about the romance between Ty and Rayla is that they already know each other. The readers are given enough glimpses of their past together to know that they were good together before and that it was obvious that they still have feelings for each other, well at least mostly for Ty’s part especially in the beginning. But as the story progresses, the readers also get a pretty good look at what was tearing them apart and it was really entertaining watching them do a kind of cha-cha dance with their feelings. Being insecure, then hurt, overcoming the past, and then braving through it all because what could be more important than living a life with the one you love?

The mystery behind the man who is hunting Ty down because he wants something from him was also developed well. In this case, even when it was already revealed, the author was still able to give off the feeling that it might just be a revelation on the surface and that something must still be lurking underneath. It isn’t just black and white, not clean-cut at all and I really love when stories take on the gray tones. The villain might be a villain but the author fleshes him out too so the story does not make it like the main couple are against the ultimate evil.

There was a bit of lag in some of the scenes just because it seems like a particular plot was just being repetitive at times. But the elements did build up nicely towards the climax so it was still good.

If you like some suspense and action in your romance read, I heartily suggest reading this book. The connection between our main couple is sizzling and the high-stakes and high-adrenaline circumstances that they find themselves in this book surely add nicely to the tension and conflict that they have to overcome, which is a pretty good read to me.

The third in this series, I had no issues picking right up with the action or understanding what was happening: Dixie Lee Brown manages to keep a solid storyline with tension peaking like mountaintops, giving readers little time to relax.

Rayna is reserved and frightened: she has lost all of her family and everyone she loved, to trust in the relationship that is developing with Ty is just too dangerous for her mental health and happiness.

Ty is all alpha, and determined to protect Rayna and keep her safe, even in the face of some pretty steep odds. But, while their relationship and chemistry was off the chain, the push-pull from Rayna had me wanting to shake her silly.

Suspense wise, the story had lots of moments that had me on the edge of my seat, but Rayna seems unaware of her responsibility regarding her own safety, thus putting herself and the team in danger, and the apparent lax approach of those ‘protecting’ her were more troublesome than thrilling, and I found them frustrating.

But, despite the moments where I wanted to scream – the writing style and story kept me reading on to see if my guess as to the ‘mastermind’ was the person I thought it was. Yes – I was right, but the ride to the end was tons of fun and kept me turning pages.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via Edelweiss for purpose of honest review for Tasty Book Tour. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Thanks to Dixie Lee Brown and Tasty Book Tours for the opportunity to read this great book and this series. I found this author from a previous Tasty Book Tour for "When I Find You" and I immediately read "All or Nothing". As soon as I saw this was being toured, I jumped at the chance.

Rayna and Ty are a part of the team that works with the characters from the previous two novels. For fear of giving spoilers away, I will say what I like the most about this book.

Rayna: her strength, her determination, her ability to kick ass and take names, her loyalty, her ability to love, her selflessness.

Ty: his loyalty, his ability to love, his ability to let Rayna be who she is, his determination, his Alpha male personality.

When the past comes back and Rayna gets caught in the cross fire, Ty's loyalty brings on the team that we all know and love if we have read the series.

I really hope there are more in this series.

Good story of two more members of Joe Reynold's Trust No One Covert Ops team. Reyna Dugan fought her way into the team afeter her brother, team member Charlie, was killed. She was only interested in revenge. Ty, one of the other team members, falls hard for Rayna. She keeps him at arm's length since she doesn't want anything to interfere with her revenge.

Ty is not willing to let her go, even though she only wants to be "friends". He swallows the hurt she causes and lets her leave to go to school and then to medical school which is what Charlie wanted for her. However, when she leaves, she unwittingly gets caught up in Ty's past, which is not known to a lot of people. Twisting and turning its way through the plot, the affection these two, and the rest of the team, have for each other isn't blatant, but it's there in their actions.

Extra added attraction: Alex is back and the foreshadowing of a new story shows up.

The story starts out with Rayna Dugan having suffered the loss of her parents and older brother and who knows how she can handle any more loss. So she has decided to cut ties with Ty Whitlcok before she falls any further in love with him because he has a very dangerous job and she can't face losing someone else.

Ty's whole world comes crashing down when Rayna lies and tells him she does not love him anymore and is ready to leave and go off to college. He had hopes and dreams of eventually having the white picket fence and the loving wife and Rayna fit that picture perfectly. But when he gets called into his bosses office and witnesses a "proof-of-life" video from Rayna's kidnappers and receives very specific instructions to follow in-order to keep her alive he knows his past has finally caught up with him and its about to ruin everything he has ever dreamed about. This was such a great book I stayed up all night reading it.

I was really disappointed because I really enjoyed the first two in this series. However, Rayna drove me crazy! First of all she kept making stupid decisions, getting kidnapped or hurt and then falling apart. I can understand why she'd be really upset but then Ty would try to take care of her or not tell her information that would upset her and she'd get furious. Or she would want to come along to get the bad guy when she just finished falling apart and couldn't understand why he didn't want her to. Also these two couldn't communicate to save their lives, in fact what they said was rarely what they wanted (or at least I think) because frankly I was confused about it half way through the book.

Fantastic read!!! If You Only Knew is a very well written book that grabbed my attention from the 1st word and held it until the last word. I had to stop reading every now and then but immediately came back to it. I absolutely loved this book. Ms. Brown has managed to write this story in such a way that this reader had no problem whatsoever to be able to picture the characters in my mind as I read. I was able to picture the whole story as I read. This is definitely a book that I will be re-reading and will be recommending it to others to enjoy.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted Ty's story since I read the first book, but by book three, I was really tired of the "misunderstandings" and the main characters misinterpreting things the other said. I really liked Nate, and think that him and Alex would be awesome, but I'm honestly not up to another book of misinterpretations for most of it. Maybe someday I'll come back and find out what happens with them, but for now I'm moving away from these books.

I give this one 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it more than book # 1 in the series; both the hero and heroine were likable. Good mystery arc throughout the book. Some surprising twists which were not predictable. Read it for suspense rather than romance.
