'Love Your Neighbor' by Melody Carlson was well written and appropriate for young children. The story tells of a child who has a very annoying neighbor. Her grandmother tells her to "love your neighbor as you love yourself." At the end of the story the two become friends and follow the moral of loving your neighbor and giving people who are different from you a chance. Although this book is well written and gives a great message, it is based on christianity. The bible and Jesus are mentioned as well as a bible verse which would lead me to not use this book in a classroom or anywhere. I do not like the idea of promoting a value such as how to treat people based on religious views.

This is an excellent book that talks about why we should love our neighbors. Tim Wood is the boy next door and he just isn't the most loved kid in the neighborhood. However, one little boy decides that he needs to love Tim. Great book!
