“We all protect our hearts.”
As we learned in previous installments of the Arrangement series, Avery lacks stability in all areas of her life. Her family is gone and her graduation from college is questionable as well. All Avery Stanz has now is her friendships with Mel and Marty, two people who she holds dear. They continue to offer Avery emotional support, and some mad decorating skills as she navigates this dark time in her life.
In volume 4 of The Arrangement series, we continue to follow Avery Stanz as she navigates her way through a hellish life. She’s still broke, still without a decent form of transportation and has a close encounter with the unemployment line (if there is such a thing as unemployment for call-girls). Avery, now indebted to Miss Black, must continue her employment knowing that she’s not cut out for this business, but there is no other way for her to survive.
Avery has loved and lost not only her family, but Sean Ferro as well. She admittedly gave him her heart only for him to return it, and after a few run-ins, albeit unsuccessful, with the elusive Sean Ferro, Avery must continue her daily struggle to persevere, and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.
Sean’s life is still shrouded in mystery, but will he give up all he has left for Avery, or was it Allison? The ending to volume 4 will leave Avery hanging by a thread to sanity as she may have lost the ability to protect her heart, but her mind as well.
