Rate this book
21st-century Aztec gumshoe Maxtla Colhua, the hero of the alternate history police procedural Aztlan: The Last Sun, is back. This time he’s looking for the missing star of a brutal Aztec ball game–preferably before the guy’s fans make the streets of his city run red with blood. In the process, Maxtla realizes he’s pitting himself against a lot more than just a kidnapper. Will his Investigator's bracelet, his hand stick, and his wits be enough? Or is he in over his head?

Not like Columbo.
Not like Salvo Montalbano.
Not like Adam Dalgliesh.

Not a genius, not a fan of classical music or smooth jazz.

Maxtla Colhua is a ball player, a rough neck.
The kind of detective that sometimes goes down the wrong alley. And takes a beating for it..

He is like the others in the most important way.
He will get his man.
Follow his investigation no matter where it takes him.

Mike has done it again.
Made a fun detective story in a future the doesn't exist..yet.

Read this soon. [Okay, read it now]
