This is one of the most amazing books I've read in my life. I don't have time to really dig into it in depth, only say that I found it uplifting and inspiring.

Very uplifting sci-fi, reads like a parable. Light world building, small number of locations, maybe a dozen characters. But nice enjoyable read with some good morals behind it

Just look at the average rating, it's probably one of the highest rated (on this site) books you've never heard of. I don't normally reread books, but I've read this one 4 times in the last 3 years. It's one of those books that are good to read when you're kind of depressed because it starts out cynical and disenfranchised(like I tend to get when I'm having a hard time)and then softly leads you to a better headspace. This book utilizes the eloquence of plain English, but has such wonderful character development and rich plot that it can be enjoyed by individuals with any reading level.
