“I think you might want to sit down, dear,” Corrine said to her. “This is about to become very frightening for you. Oh, and don’t run. If you do, it will cause you problems, and I don’t believe you need any more of those right now, do you?”
She shook her head and looked back at Dylan. The man had a chest that just screamed to be licked. When he winked at her, she flushed. Then thought of shooting his dick off.
“Not nice. What will I do with you if you do that?” She flushed more when she caught images of them together in the big bed, and looked at the bed. She knew that he was doing that and tried not to think how enjoyable it would be. His low growl had her looking at him again.
The room tightened, and she had a feeling that all the air had been sucked out of the room. When she lifted her gun up, she only raised it a few inches when she realized what had happened. The room was full of panthers.
As soon as Jack Crosby found the tracking device implanted in her head and had it removed, she knew she was in trouble. She had managed to avoid her employers for the past couple of weeks but knew that this next job was a setup and would more than likely get her killed.
When Dylan Bowen walked out his front door, he was startled to find a beautiful woman on his porch aiming a gun at his chest. She sat on his swing with a puddle of blood pooling beneath her. She had several gunshot wounds and no memory of who she was. Dylan knew by her scent who she was to him or would be if she didn’t die first.
When Jack’s memory returns she knows they’re all dead if she’s found and leaving is the only answer, but not if Dylan has anything to say about it. Dylan will say or do anything to stop her from going…anything…including tricking her into bonding as his mate.
Kirby Mann, Jack’s employer, wants her dead. All he has to do is find her. She’s a liability to them all.
Lucius wants Jerry Small released from prison and put in the White House. A man like Small in the White House was just the type of man to start wars. War was the perfect environment for a vampire like Lucius where people could disappear, and no one would be the wiser. In his mind, Jack was the person to make that happen.
The Bowens must band together if they are all to survive because danger lurks in dark corners and Jack and Dylan’s destiny is yet uncharted. But when one of their own is captured by Lucius will they be strong enough to defeat him? Find out in the third installment of The Bowen Boys.

I picked up Dylan and within a couple of hours, I was done and needed more.

Kathi S. Barton has created a world of interesting characters, a story that keeps you entertained from beginning to end and moves along at a fantastic pace.

I cannot wait to read more and I am really looking forward to the next book.

In case you weren't aware, 'Dylan' is the third book in Kathi S. Barton's "Bowen Boys" series, and Ms. Barton has filled this book with so much action, drama, and high-stakes that the pages seem to turn quicker than I realized. Of course, if you've been following the series, then you know Dylan is a school teacher and the one who has been given the title of the most level-head, laid back of all the boys. Haha, yeah, Jack put that to the test the minute she winds up on his front porch. Imagine his reaction when he goes out the front door, on his way to the school, only to find a woman sitting in one of his chairs, holding a gun, and bleeding to death from multiple gunshots and stab wounds. Immediately contacting Khan and Walker through their link, he tries to find out information. Jack has no idea who she is or how she got there. The only thing she seems to know is the police cannot be involved for any reason and asks Dylan to bury her in the backyard should she die. The plot against the president continues to build and we're introduced to a vampire and a wizard who have evidently laid the groundwork in this high-stakes scene long before modern times. This one kept me up until I could see the sunrise but was so well worth it. I just couldn't put it down.

Here it is the third brother in the Bowen Brothers Series - Dylan lived up to expectations from reading about his brothers Walker and Khan -- Dylan finds his mate in a rough and tough girl named Jack and she don't take no crap from anyone - a definite must read - this series is well worth it - would definitely recommend to others - can't wait to read about the next brother -- thank you Kathi S. Barton for an amazing read

Really well done plotline that just keeps you hooked into reading.
Another extremely strong, capable and smart heroine joins the Bowen family.
Jack, yes her name is Jack and isn’t that a story in itself, could I believe give Caitlin a run for the money.
So many lives are lost, the young panther was the saddest as he was a true innocent, the others, not so much.
Lucius was truly off his rocker and love what happened to him.
Read many years ago but reviews are missing.
Quite a few proofing errors should have been picked up.
I read and reviewed this book years ago but reviews posted from back of book are missing.

My review:

I love the strong women who does not take any nonsense from the men. Sometimes it seems as if the men are portrayed a little bit less intelligent than they should be...

Synopsis:

One thing I really do love about reading this series is that even though it's ingrained in the males to want to lock their mates up and protect them from all the bad in the world, these brothers not only protect their mates, but stand back just enough to let them spread their wings.

The problems Jack and Dylan have to go through before, during, and after they mate aren't just problems that affect them and their family; but could hurt the rest of mankind and weres alike.

Jack is a hired hitman with one rule, no killing children. When a job goes bad, she knows she's been set up. Now it's up to her to figure out what went wrong and how to take care of those determined to shut Jack up forever.

**"she knew that things were different; that there would never be anyone else, and that this man was going to love her forever."**

Although Dylan is a school teacher, this doesn't make him any less of a bada$$ than his brothers. Although his first thoughts about Jack aren't positive he more than makes up for it and embraces who and what she is.

**"Christ, how am I supposed to figure out how to be the best mate in the world when the one man I'm supposed to be able to look up to is a moron?"**

**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**

I just love this family. Dylan is brother number 3 to find his mate and I was so glad that she is just as tough as the first ones. Jack is really something else, similar to Caitlynne in temperament and actions she is going to give Dylan a merry chase. A similar plot to Walkers book, Jack thought she worked for the president, finding out that is not the case makes her a target that needs to be eliminated. I liked how this one tied into the first book with the bad guys still trying to move to the white house. Ms. Barton did throw in some interesting twists and turns tweaking the storyline to keep it original from the first one. Well written, fast paced, easy to follow and filled with action and excitement. There is never a dull moment when the Bowen boys and their mates are around. I fun read that kept me wanting more. I look forward to seeing what and/or who she has in store for the Bowen boys next.

Dylan Bowen, Bowen Boys Series book 3 is a hot bed of romance, a bit of mystery and instead of just shifters, we have a nasty Vampire and a Wizard. I for one love wizards. Then we have Jack, who names their daughter Jack. Guess you'll have to read it and find out. In perfect Kathi Barton story-telling style, we have an Alpha male meeting up with an Alpha female and he doesn't know what to do. I think it is funny how these brothers are handed their attitudes right back at em by these strong, no nonsense women. I also like the underlying story of the special abilities that some shifters have passed down through their family lines. Not everyone has them, which is a story all by itself. Dylan will not disappoint the Kathi Barton fan in the least.

I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Teacher's Pet

These Bowen Boys are something fierce and the women of this awesome series are the best kick ass heroines I have ever read about in a while. Jack who thought she was doing something good for her country came to find out that all is not as it seems. While injured she lands directly on Dylan front porch. Lo and behold she is his mate. Dylan is the brother that everyone thought had it all together but faced with the prospect of a mate he didn't know which way was up. The story line was incredibly well-written and when they are together you can feel the chemistry flowing off the pages. I absolutely devoured this book in one night and can't wait to see what's in store for the next brother.

Excellent & Great Plot!

Dylan & Jack's story starts in bloodshed; Jack's to be precise as Jack had been set up & was supposed to
die but being the strong woman that she is she escapes but not before she gets shot many times. She eventually ends up at Dylan's house & when he finds her he knows immediately that she's his mate. This is a HEA book with shifters, wolves, a mage (or magician) & a very bad vampire.

This book was artfully crafted and uniquely designed to pull you into the pages where secrets and fairytales live and dreams come true for those who believe!

This book was enchanting, enthralling and endlessly entertaining where stubbornness and determination to rise above conflict with a core of steel to get to where love and happiness lives! The only thing that you need then is God's grace to cover you up!
