Jess awoke to a world she doesn’t really understand, hounded by impulses that are quite literally more than any human could be expected to control.

It’s painfully evident that her friends and family are doing everything they can to help her regain her footing, but she can’t help resenting the fact that none of them lost as deeply as she lost in their last confrontation with the Coun’hij.

More than anything she wants to turn to Alec for help. The alpha of the pack should be a constant source of strength and reassurance, but in his own way he’s nearly as damaged as she is. What’s worse, a new threat has just arrived in Sanctuary and Jess is starting to wonder if Alec will sacrifice her as the weakest link in a crippled pack.

Intrusion is a 8,600 word short story.

I read the first book of the Reflections series Broken/Torn as a separate ebooks and I enjoyed the book so when I found the box set on sale right after I finished Torn I decided to buy it. I read the third book in the series as part of the box set and it seem to be a full book and the story I enjoyed.

It has been a while since I read the third book and decided I needed to read the fourth book, Intrusion before I forget the story. So I read the fourth book as part of the box set however Intrusion didn't seem like a full book. I read the story very quickly and it really didn't seem to tell a story just give basic information about how Jessica was adjusting to her new life.

I don't know if it was an error in the ebook or actually the way the story was supposed to go. I don't really know if maybe it was just me, I read the book incredibly fast (ebooks do go quicker) and the length could be just my perspective. However the story itself was not, I enjoyed the story but it was short and I think more could have been done with it. Hopefully the next book in the series will be better and I will get to find out what happen to Adri.

Good but not enough of a story to be a stand alone book and called “#4” in the series. More like a 3.5. Calling it volume 4 makes it sound like it’s going to be on the same length as volumes 1-3 and not just a short side story.

I received this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book take a snapshot look at Jess after the ending of Splintered. We already know that her memories have been taken away from her and this book gives you an insight into how it will affect a person and their friends and family as they try to figure out just who they are. Add into that the whole wolf hierarchy as well as it's going to get complicated. Things are made even more difficult as Alec has lost a lot of the goodwill from the pack following the finale of Splintered.

This is a short story so please don't expect the depth and intrigue of the others but it still shows just how difficult things are. One of the things that I liked about this is that it's from Jess' point of view. As the most submissive, she is one of the least heard from out of the pack so I loved that this was about her.

If you are following the Reflections series (and if you're not, then why not?!) then this is definitely not one to miss out.

Okay, This may be my first official review of any book. Refreshing to say the least; However just as I was beginning to understand things from Jessica's point of view the book ended. What is that? How did i pay 4.99 for 18 pages. What makes it okay to leave the reader in suspense. I was hesitant at first when i realized that this was yet another PoV and not from a main protagonist but slowly I started to get into it Then BAM!!! It's over. How is that okay. It makes it seem like the author tried to write from a fresh pov and then couldn't commit so he quit while he was ahead. Would have gotten 4 stars maybe even 5 if He had stuck to the current plot.

Even though this one is a short story it is still really good. As far as the point of view goes Jess is the narator in Intrusion. I love that another favorite among ts supernatural world shows up, the vampires. Throughout all the books i love that each one is in a differnet persons point of view. I cant wait to continue with the series and to read more books by Dean Murray.

Seeing things through the eyes of Jess and how much she has loss, shows how strong she is.
