The Kicks’ championship hopes are being sabotaged in the second book in a series that celebrates confidence and teamwork, from star soccer player and Olympic gold medalist Alex Morgan.
Things are going wrong left and right for the Kentville girls’ soccer team, and Devin’s sure the girls from their rival team, the Pinewood Panthers, are behind the many mishaps. Can Devin get to the bottom of the mystery and stop the sabotage before her team’s championship hopes disappear for good?

An American Soccer Player (Forward/Striker) and an Olympic Medalist. Drafted first in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. And now plays with the Portland Thorns FC.
I really liked this book because it was very exciting. There was always something going on. Devin was the main character and always was with her friends. Even though I love soccer I felt that Devin was a little too soccer crazy. I think there needs to be something else going on between school and soccer. I also think that the coach should be involved more. It also seems like every friend of Devins has the same personality. I loved the book because it was so interesting I would recommend this to people who love soccer. There is some boy drama but not a lot. If you are someone who focuses on soccer I think you should read this book. The last reason you should read this book is because Devin is very involved in her friends and makes it very friendly!
I read this book to my cousin over the Thanksgiving break. She is really into soccer and found this book enjoyable. She really liked the fact that it was a book that related to what she is interested into at the moment. The book depicts the lives of three girls that are going up against their rivals in a season of many mishaps and follies. It is a cute book for any girl that is interested in soccer and I find it very important for books like this to be available to students. They want to read about what they are interested in, and by being able to read them, they gain more knowledge of the topic they like.
I would recommend this book for grades 4th through 7th.
I love soccer and school, but is it better to focus on one thing more? I liked this book because it helped me understand that I shouldn't be too focused on just one thing. I now know that it is better to balance out the multiple things that you might have to do and not focus on just one thing. I recommend this book to young soccer players like me and I think it can help you understand like it helped me!
Devan reminds me a lot of our cat Midnight, they both only care about one thing. For Midnight it is going outside and terrorizing animals and for Devan it is playing soccer. It was supposed to be resolved at the end but she still seemed soccer crazy to me. And every apology in the book was rushed and easily excepted before the person could even finish what they were saying. The show is way better
The Sabotage Season was really amazing because it was like a mystery. It was a gripping tale of a team coming into their own and growing up along the way. The book provides a lot of imagery of time on the soccer field and around the town!
I was very happy when I found the series of books. I love Alex Morgan so I decided to giver her books a try. This gook is about a girl who moved from far away and is really good at soccer. When she moves, she decides to try out for the soccer team and makes it. But when she gets elected team captain the season takes a wrong turn when there is someone trying to sabotage them. The team has to figure out who has been doing it.
I'm really enjoying this series about the Kangaroos (I.e. the Kicks). In this one someone is messing with them and trying to sabotage things. They think they know who it is but then they get a curveball and its not who they think. The girls are trying to get into the playoffs and I couldn't' wait to see what happened.
Pretty good. This series is an ideal book series for kids. These books can improve courage, friendship and attraction to physical exercises for kids. I would strongly recommend you to give your kid this book. You could also ask him to watch The Amazon original series The Kicks.
This was a cute read! It shouldn't have taken me very long to read it, but I kept putting it off once I started it. POPSUGAR 2020: A book with at least a four-star rating on Goodreads.
Devin Burke is trying to get her team to the playoffs this upcoming year so they can beat their archrival, Pinewood. But things for the "kicks" were not going so good they had really bad luck. That made Devin's friend Jessi is very worried and she wondered if someone was sabotaging them, so she did some investigating and went to Pinewood. Things became more apparent that they were being sabotaged but by who, they go on trying to figure it out. In the end they end up going to playoffs even though it was very hard to get there.
It was awesome! Alex Morgan is a great writer and I am glad that she is able to write these books and play soccer too. I like that this was a complex story and it wasn't only about the team all the time.(I hope this makes sense.)
I feel this book shows what the struggles of "pre-game" really are. It is a great fiction adventure, with a bit of mystery. Alex has done a great job of connecting real life to this book. They characters in this book were well shaped,
