Dizzy Dilemmas

Rate this book
The Duke of Glenmore had not been in London many days before he became the target of every determined matchmaker and their tenacious daughters. His first encounter with the youngest child of the Earl of Elveston leads him to believe she is yet another debutante hoping to be his Duchess but a few pithy words and her subsequent actions soon disabuse him of such a notion.
What better way to avoid the traps laid for him by every man-hungry woman than to pretend to woo the one unattached female in all of the capital who does not want him? She, however, has other ideas. If he wants to be seen courting her, then he will have to catch her first!

Absolutely loved this book. A different style of writing. Humorous with a lovely story line that kept me hooked until the very end. Sexy in places which added to the over style of the story. Was sorry to reach the end and be looking for more from this author in future.

Very difficult to rate this book. 2.5 to 3 stars from me, but it could have earned a 4 or 4.5

Positives - I enjoyed the witty dialogue and the idea of the story. I liked the characters and I thought the story was fresh and quite original and humorous in places. It started out as a clean story but I was surprised when the romantic scenes became slightly steamier, which were okay with me - a romance is not really believable without some steam.

Negatives - Many grammar errors, spelling mistakes and the book could have used a good editor. Midriff was written as mid-rift, just one example. Head hopping in minor characters which is annoying. We were given several pages on the Butler's back story, for no particular reason. Very long sentences especially in the dialogue - did they take a breath ?? Also a very abrupt ending that made me saying "Is that it ?? Did I miss something ??" Uninspiring cover - flowers usually make me pass on a book.

This book has the potential for 4 and 5 star ratings, but not in the current format (I read it on Kindle)

I did go looking for the author's other book to read it as well, but neither of them are on Amazon Australia any more or on Kobo.

I enjoyed this romance. It was refreshing an lighthearted. The interaction between family & friends was believable. I recommend it for anyone interested in a pleasant chuckle.
