Book 1 in the wayward academy, this is NOT a standalone and must be read in order!
Ren! Girl! I am in love! I love when the FMC is mouthy and speaks her mind. An absolute badass, she isn’t afraid to call anyone out but still has common sense and we get to see her vulnerability. Although her mouth sometimes gets her in trouble she never thinks twice or holds back. She is fierce and won’t stand for entitled people treating others badly.
Quick witted and spicy comebacks I cannot get enough of her! Abruptly yanked from her home in Alberta, she is swiftly dropped at Wayward Academy where she must quickly learn the hierarchy and deal with her Queen B roommate. Her story is sad and you want her to be happy and are left wondering what happened and who her family is!
Sometimes multi POV can be frustrating but each of the main MMCs are so much their own that it wasn’t hard to keep them separate.
The kings, our 5 MMCs, all born into crime families, they swim, play lacrosse, me girls all want them and male want to be them. There is great description and slowly got a feel for everyone. I can’t wait to learn more about them!
Nash, the king, he’s over the top and DARK, and his back and forth ah! He is the definition of mixed signals.
Omg Myles! Let’s see if my mind changes but good lawd I love him. And his accent, ah! Love me an Irish accent.
Blake I can already tell is going to be a heartbreaker. He is such a player and knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s so smooth talking and def seems like there’s more to him then he leads on.
Theo, whoa I don’t even know where to start with him. You can tell he’s just one of those people who book and street smarts come easy to him and he doesn’t have to try overly hard to be successful.
Liam, Nash’s right hand man and the numbers man. If there’s a bet to place, Liam has it arranged and knows what the odds are.
The character development is amazing! Brooklyn outlined that the spice will
Build throughout the series and if it is any indication this slow burn is not going to disappoint! This is based in “high school” but aside from mentioning their ages and the school or does not give off high school vibes.
