In Chains Again

Rate this book
Finally having obtained his release, Jake looks for Tain. He realizes she's right about many things, but before he can tell her, he discovers she's gone from Oliven, and he has no clue to where.

He's disturbed by what he feels, but even more disturbing rumors begin to surface. The 'slave drug,' used supposedly only on Oliven, has surfaced - and on much more 'modern' planets. Jake must put his feels from Tain aside to follow this serious development.

But Tain is already on it - and as both agents try to unravel the mystery, they also move closer to finding each other again - and closer to a final... What? Confrontation? Or meeting of minds?

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Attended New York University and graduated with a B.A. in 1963. Married in 1963, had three sons, divorced in 1976. Raised the sons, Andy, Brian and Curtis, alone in New Jersey. Worked for AT&T as a shareowner correspondent, then as an all-around assistant in a construction company, then sold bar steel for an import firm. Left that job as assistant sales manager. I've been writing full time since 1984.

Hobbies: knitting, crocheting, Tae Kwon Do, fencing, archery, shooting, jigsaw puzzles, logic problems, math problems, not cooking.

Don't do my own research, since if I did I'd stay with that and never get any writing done. I usually can finish a novel of about 120,000 words in about three months.

So we are now back on the Union homeworld - Earth or Central or whatever we are calling it this time around.

Jake has a new partner - actually he has a partner now since he didn’t actually have one in the first two books. And they uncover a Dastardly scheme:

These evil people have uncovered a Drug that when given to a defenseless woman forces her to obey her captor in all things. But only the most evil of men would want to do something like that, right, Jake?

And Tain has a new partner and is working in a new Department - pretty much exactly like her old one - except that she has a new boss and is working with different people. And apparently never goes back to her apartment since Jake hasn’t been able to find her.

BTW, No one ends up in Chains again. I guess they couldn’t think of a good title.

All in all, not a bad little trilogy although I think it could have fit neatly into one longer novel. And very different from your typical Blushing Book spankfest.
