"Courage isn't always a big, flashy spectacle. It can be quiet and personal and strong. A promise to leave the world a better place than you found it. Never forget that." (p. 100)

What a wonderful piece of storytelling. Gorman is able to encapsulate childhood wonder, taking our shared experiences, and memorializing these moments to share with others. Just an absolute triumph in paying homage to nostalgia. A true love letter to video games. Magical Game Time is truly special.

A lot of really good but disconnected comics here. Love the illustration style.

In this collection of art and comics, Gorman beautifully captures the nostalgia of videogames. Anyone that grew up escaping to the worlds of Earthbound, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Mario, et. al. will instantly relate. He expands on classic moments with the wonder of that first play-through, yet leaves them concise enough that one's imagination, appetite whetted, can't help but to continue the story, even as the next page starts anew. To say it another way, he puts into his work all the glory that so many minds give to the pixels. I was impressed and moved by how much emotion he could create with just the few panels on one page - feelings for both the characters and for the memories. This volume will be happily treasured for years to come.

A collection of some of Zac Gorman's illustrations and comics homaging classic videogames. Some are half a page long and very few are more than 3 pages long. There is art about Zelda, Final Fantasy, the Mother series and many other games (some of them I can't even tell where from!).

Magical Game Time is very very heartwarming and makes you very nostalgic, not just because it's about the games you played years ago but also because it's able to express the sensations you had when you were a child, how you saw the world and how you felt about yourself.

It's noteworthy Zac Gorman's ability to change between art styles and aesthetics, it's really inspiring if you are an artist. I also am in love with the colors and palettes he uses. You'll love it if you like videogames.

can't say enough about how great this was . . just pure childhood/nostalgia, all wrapped in nintendo-era gaming, esp legend of zelda . . bottom line: this guy gets it . . he gets what it meant to grow up a gamer and he gets how it translates to adulthood . . the art is also cool . . i'll follow everything this guy does now for sure

Nothing new, just the comics from the website. And since Zac's speciality are the subtle animations in his comic-gifs and those do not work in a PDF, it's slightly disappointing. Nevertheless, it's Zac Gorman + Videogames which is still pretty awesome.
