4 I'm Not Just A Mom Stars

We moms do it all don't we? We cook, clean, PTA, concession stand, car pool, laundry. You name it. We have it covered. But what about when thats all you are seen as...a mom? I love being a mom, but I am a lot of other things too. The other things I am are not as exciting or sexy as the other things Taylor is in this book. I am also a teacher, a blogger, a...well thats about it. But Taylor...now she is also a sexy woman who puts on mini skirts and goes to bars. Yeah. I haven't done that in....well too long to count. I go to bars. Not actual bars. More like On The Border. But you get the picture.

Taylor's husband died three years ago in a freak chain saw/tree trimming accident. Since that time she has taken care of her sons, been a bookkeeper at her in-laws business. The one that involves chain saws and ladders. She has not really nurtured the womanly side of herself. And she is pretty damn tired of it. So out come the heels, the mini skirt and off to the bar she goes. Only to run into her brother-in-law. Buzz Kill. Except this brother-in-law is sex on a stick and HER BROTHER IN LAW!

Jace has been in love with Taylor since his older brother brought her home from college. He loves his nephews and feels guilty for his brother's death. He has tried to atone by taking the kids to pizza, etc. When he sees the sexy Taylor at a bar in that skirt, he loses it. As he lets his feelings for Taylor take over, he is tempted beyond his ability to control his feelings. Fortunately Taylor is ready to break out of the Mom Mold she has been living in.

The Problem you ask? How about the in-laws. Taylor loves her in-laws and would never do anything to hurt them or disrespect her husband's memory. Will they get caught? Can they each deny what is building between them? Will their observant family find out?

This is the first in a series. I connected to the characters and felt their indecision and torn emotions. You don't have to be a mom to like it. But it does take your mind off of PTA...booster club....homework....

If you are after a very hot emotional romantic read with a hero to fall in love with and a lovely female lead, this is it.

Following the death of her husband Lou, Taylor has been left with 2 young boys. His family are her constant and his younger brother Jace has taken on the fatherly role to his nephews and been there to help her when the need arises. 3 years have passed and Taylor realises that she's more than just a mum and perhaps it's time to start doing something for herself. She has needs and Jace is prepared to step up to the mark. Only he has secretly held a torch for her since they were kids.

With plenty of sexual tension and secrecy the erotic content was sizzling, but it's also touching and emotional as alongside the romance runs a captivating story involving all of the Jackson family. They were loveable endearing characters and my heart went out to them as their pain over the loss of Lou is heart-wrenching.

Thoroughly recommend and I shall certainly be seeing whether Jace's brothers David and Mitch can live up to the high standard he has set.

An emotional and satisfying read, I fell in love with the characters. This is an emotional erotic romance.

Taylor was married to the eldest of 4 brothers in a very close-knit family. Lou's accidental death 3 years ago has devastated everyone in the family. They've maintained their closeness but nobody talks about the emotional upheaval caused by Lou's death.

Everyone including Taylor works at the family business. Jace, the youngest of the brothers has taken it upon himself to spend time with Taylor & Lou's sons and help out around the house. He's dealing with a lot of guilt over Lou's death.

Taylor loved Lou, but she's missing having a man in her bed. She decides to go to a bar in a nearby town one night thinking to hook-up. Once a bar patron starts to make a move on her she realizes she's made a mistake and that she is not cut out for the bar scene. Jace is at the bar with friends and steps in before it can get out of hand. Once outside in Jace's truck Taylor is grateful for Jace's help and admits it was a poor idea. Jace, realizing that Taylor is too sexy and amazing to be without a man for so long, but he can't stand the idea of her with someone else. After venting her frustration and need for intimacy, Taylor impulsively kisses Jace and it unleashes a torrent of lust and long suppressed sexual attraction between them. Taylor leaves before anything else can happen but floodgates have opened for both of them.

They become caught up in their passion for each other though neither one want wants to upset the delicate family balance. They decide to consummate their affair one time, but they can't stop thinking about and wanting each other.

I loved both Taylor and Jace. They already cared about each other but their desire was unstoppable, though they both worried about the fallout if the family find out.

I was very much caught up in the emotions as well. When Jace and his parents and one of his brothers finally talk about their shared loss and guilt, I found myself in tears. It was so heartfelt (I do not cry often when reading).

This was a novella length story but I don't know, it just got to me. The characters were so believable, all of them not just Jace and Taylor. The story ends a little quickly but knowing there are two more stories out there about the other two brothers makes up for it.

4.0 RATING-I've had this novella floating around on my Kindle for years (2013 to be exact!) and I finally got around to reading it and am happy that I did! I've read another book by this author (a menage romance/Take Your Pick) and remember it being HOT as hell and the writing solid. Somebody's Lover was no different. I will admit that there was room for a lot more development here and this could have easily been a full length story. Having said that, this worked for me as written and made for a quick, sexy read - perfect for a Sunday afternoon. I'm actually a little sad that this wrapped up so quickly because I would have liked to have read more about these two characters. An epilogue would have been nice.

For readers that hesitate reading stories that feature a widower for a main character, I thought the author did a good job of both respecting the past and selling the future. I was able to pick this book up for free but plan to read the next book and have no issue paying for it. I'm adding this author to a list of writers that I need to read more of.

Whoa, this is a seriously hot little number!!! I am talking a pantie scorcher here! Lord have mercy!!

The story is a mixed narrative going between Taylor and Jace for the POV. It is a terrific device for really exploring everything they are feeling. There is a fair amount of drama in this read. But that is to be expected with the plotline.

There is so much chemistry here, it burns the ears! The bedroom door is wide open, and the kitchen, and the bathroom, and well...you get the point! Deliciously smexy with a fair amount of dirty talk!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Shana Savage, who steams things up with her voice!! She does a fabulous job with the hot scenes, really great energy! Swift pace in the read adds to the movement of the story.

Overall, this was a terrific read. I can not wait to see what happens with the other two brothers. We get hints of their coming stories in this one. I anticipate much more drama before everything settles and healing occurs for everybody.

Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

This was a short but decent intro to this series. Although its short, it's packed with a decent amount of set up past & present so that you get a fair & clear understanding of the premise & the characters.

I did like the dilemmas that the 2 main characters were having to face concerning their feelings for one another. It was very realistic & easy to understand & be compassionate about their plight, & the how's & why's of it.

I liked most of the characters but I think I loved the Jackson Brothers' family dynamic as a whole more than I loved or cared about the coupling between Jace & Taylor. These two just didn't grab me. Their story was interesting enough, but other than that I didn't really feel anything for them.

That being said I would recommend this read though. I am also interested in reading about another brother David, he's book 2 in this series.

"SOMEONE'S DESIRED LOVE!"
**DEFINITELY A 10 STAR RATING!**

Once tragedy has struck a well-dynamically formed family, there's nothing left but blame, loneliness, desuetude, and despair for all that are involved, especially for a widow, and her children. However, to be able to obtain a slice of salvation, a ray of sunshine, to break free from the darkness, to be able to deal with the challenges of everyday life is one to be desired.

That's what Taylor is in dire need of, a man to make her feel as though she is the most desirable woman he has ever seen, even if it's just for a few hours. Nevertheless, she NEVER expecting that man to be her brother-in-law, Jace.

Once sparks fly between these two, they NEVER end. Craving each other's touch, as though no other, is the SWEETEST drug imaginable, and to be able to possess that is EXTREMELY inspiring. It's as though having lighting strike the same place twice, rare, and unobtainable at times, yet to possess it twice in one person's lifetime, is absolutely ASTONISHING!

I immensely ENJOYED this novel, at times it reminded me of Lorelei James, "Cowgirls Don't Cry," and "Cowgirl Up & Ride." Obviously very different scenarios, yet similar qualities, Ms. Haynes possessed the same finesse that Ms. James does with her storylines. Also having a multitude of SIZZLING, SCORCH THE PAGES, love scenes--too boot!

I've become an instant fan of Ms. Haynes, already purchasing the remainder books within this series! This novel was PHENOMENAL, it kept me GLUED to the pages, wondering if and when Taylor and Jace might or might NOT be discovered. What would the rest of the family think of their union? Could Taylor and Jace forge a future together as Lou's death casts a shadow above them?

You're going to have to discover that on your own! I DON'T kiss & tell! >;o)~~~
---------------------------------------
The reason this novel hit so close to home for me, is that my Nonna (Grandmother), married her brother-in-law after her sister passed away. She helped raise my Nonno's (Grandfather's) sons, her nephews, and eventually had more children with him (my mother being one of them). My Nonna fell madly, deeply, and irrevocably in LOVE with my Nonno, and he treated her like GOLD, everyday--for the rest of his life! :**)

No sex allowed for widowed moms? That was my biggest problem with the premise of this book, even though there were other taboo-ish goings-on. Taylor was the wife of one of the Jackson brothers until he died in a work-related accident. She has adopted the family as her own; she even works in the office of their landscaping business. Even after three years, Taylor refuses to have a relationship in fear of alienating the Jacksons, and feels that because she's a mom, she shouldn't be having sexual relationships. Oh, puh-lease. Finally, one night she leaves the kids with her mother-in-law and goes out searching for a little somethin-somethin to tide her over.
Jace, the youngest brother, feels responsible for his oldest brother's accident and does everything he can to help Taylor and her two young sons. When he sees her catting it up in a low-life bar, he takes matters into his own hands and offers her a deal she doesn't refuse.
The writing is OK, the sex is OK, the plot is OK. Taylor is irritating and the situation borders on taboo (see above).

An ok freebie. I don't think I'll end up reading it again though. This had a good story line but it didn't really pull me in. The first half or three quarters if the book was mostly just steamy scenes with some guilt and self-recriminations thrown in, but the last part actually had some meat and emotions. About halfway thru I kinda had make myself finish the book cuz it was feeling repetitive but once I got to last part I was a little pulled in the see what would happen next. This had a lot of negative emotions right from the start and kinda left me feeling bogged down and a little depressed feeling (I like to enjoy reading) and Taylor wasn't feeling like a very strong character. Overall it was ok and I wouldn't spend money on this one. I'm hoping other books in this series would be better but I'm not gonna go looking for them. Sorry and Good Luck

First, let me say that this book was steamy! And, it was FREEEEE! That's right, free. I received it free on Amazon.com and I'm quite shocked at the level of steaminess and the simple fact it was free. I mean, usually you have to pay for something this hot.

The book was well. The storyline was easy to read but the book started nearly right off the bat with the sex scenes and they didn't ease up or disappoint as the book carried on. In the end, everything works out for all parties involved and the sex is dreamy good!

It's a quick and easy read and it's got some good sex scenes without being too in depth. All I know is that I could definitely go for some Jace right about now. ;) Yummy!

So....not what I expected. I didn't like much Taylor. She seemed a little selfish and didn't understand Jace's feelings until the end. I can't say I was in love with Jace, but he was kind of cute and sexy. I kind of liked him a little. The other characters were...I don't know, actually. I didn't like Evelyn at first, but changed my mind a little in the end. Connie, David and the others were just irrelevant.
The story wasn't all bad, but not very interesting either. There were a couple of hot scenes, but the problem with this book is that I didn't feel connected to the characters, especially Taylor. And I didn't feel hooked to the story.

Somebody's Lover is for people who...

...get a kick out of secret trysts.
...enjoy men who make sure their lady is taken care of.
...enjoy women who just want to be touched.
...don't mind a meddling matriarch. Kind of.
...aren't bothered by a brother shacking up with his dead brother's widow.

Enjoyable and sexy. The big emotional scene for the family pretty much rocked it. *thumbs up*

Jace has loved his older brother's wife Taylor since he meet her or actually his older brother's widow. Jace has lived under the crushing guilt that he was responsible for his brother's death thus he has done everything he can to step into his shoes with his boys and by doing all the "honey-do" list Taylor can create. Taylor misses her late husband, but mostly she misses the touch of a man and feeling like a woman and not just the boy's mother. So Taylor devises the scheme to sneak out to a local dive bar for a one-night hookup to scratch her itch. What Taylor didn't count on was running into her sexy brother-in-law then ending up in his lap kissing him senseless. What started out as a simple on-nighter just keeps growing and growing as Jace and Taylor work to keep their growing feelings a secret from the rest of the family. Will this tear the family apart or can something wonderful and healing happen?

Somebody's Lover" is a steam-up-the-windows romance that will get your heart rate elevated and keep it there for the duration. A well told love story with remarkably good character development, an engaging plot and some wickedly hot love scenes. I'm a merciless reader, intolerant of sloppy writing or editing, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a minimum of errors. (I don't go looking for them, they just kinda' jump off the pages.) This is the first book I've read by Jasmine Haynes, but I'll be on the lookout for more of her work.

I loved this book and couldn’t stop reading it. I felt the connection between Taylor and Jace. It’s so hot when they get together. Love how he insists on being the one to scratch her itch, no one else will be touching her. But what will his family think of them? Love how she realizes she doesn’t want “to be someone’s lover, but to be Jace’s lover”. It’s a really great read and I’m looking forward to reading about Jace’s brothers. We get a very happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

This was a great book. It does have a lot emotional and erotic parts that will make your panties wet. But to the end I'm happy for The Jackson family they finally opened up and let it out their feelings. Taylor was good mom and widow that was wanting a her needs took care of after 3 years it got lonely I'm glad she chose Jace instead of Bubba. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of the Jackson family and more of Jasmine Haynes books.

This contemporary romance fiction is the first book in the Jackson Brothers series. This is the story of a widow Taylor and her brother-in-law Jace who fall in love after the passing of Taylor’s husband Lou the oldest of the Jackson brothers. Taylor has needs and goes to a biker bar and Jace is there to rescue her from making a stupid mistake. I truly enjoyed reading this fantastic novel. I rate it a 5 out of 5. I received this free read and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Originally read in 2013. This is the first of a trilogy of erotic romance novellas focussing on brothers.

The premise was a bit silly - not that a widow would want to have sex (never mind another relationship)! The ‘taboo’ element being that the guy is her brother-in-law.

The sex scenes were okay, included: blowjob, phone sex, fingering, eating her out.

Not the author’s best work - but a novella (erotic one at that) is never gonna have a stellar plot. Not really worth reading.

The Jackson family has lost a member. Lou's death has hit the family hard and no one feels it worse than Taylor. Mom of two and now widowed, she struggles with what she wants in life now with him gone. She is a young woman and wants to feel the touch of a man again. But feels like she may be cheating on Lou's memory, even after 3 yrs. So maybe she can pick up someone and have some meaningless sex and just get it out of her system.

Jase the youngest of the brothers, stops to have a drink at some whole in the wall bar. When he sees an attractive but scantily dressed woman walk in. It looks like Taylor but, no it couldn't be. Taylor, mom, wife to his dead brother, could not be in a bar, hitting on some guy. Why would she? He had been doing as much as he could to fill Lou's shoes, fixing stuff around the house, helping with the boys, taking them to baseball, coaching the team, what else could she need? How much more could he do to help ease the guilt of getting his brother killed?

Somebody's Wife
Jackson Brothers 3
Product Details
Connie wants a baby. She is a mom of 2, and her baby is about to start 1st grade. Now is the time. A close call a few months ago has only made the need greater. Mitch and her have always wanted to big family, but now he barley touches her. She doesn't understand and fears he may be cheating on her. She will just have to seduce her husband and get things moving in the baby direction.

After his brothers death, a crippling fear has entered Mitch that he can not shake. How will his family survive if anything happens to him? Penny pitching and worrying about money has put a huge strain of his marriage to Connie. She now wants a baby too. How will they afford it? How will they get by? How will their marriage survive if he can't be honest with his feeling and fears? He would never cheat on his wife, but after he tells her he doesn't want any more children, will his marriage survive?

These 3 stories are about a family who has lost a cherished family member, who is a brother, son, husband, father and how the family has coped or hasn't. The 3 stories should be read in order because the stories build upon each other. They are especially about a family grieving, getting past it and coming out with even more love on the other side. I will say book 1 was my favorite. Book 1 one was HOT!! Like scotching HOT. I am glad my husband was near by HOT. Book 2 and 3 both had their moments and were both very good but WOW! One of the things I liked most about these books was that the family dynamics. It was like a glimpse into the family next door and the problems that they face. The Jackson family doesn't realise how strong it truly is until they face the trials of life. Death happens and families can implode with the weight of it or band together to help one another. Wonderful stories, lovely romance that will melt your heart and steamy enough to get your toes curling. Thanks for the great read!

This book had an excellent and sexy beginning - however, after an amazing first quarter, it started going downhill for me ... The sex scenes were plentiful but they felt rushed and not sexy ... The heroine had issues - had the hots for her dead husband's brother but was beyond freaked out about what her in-laws would say if they ever found out - which was a valid issue as this is kinda considered taboo in most families ... But what i didn't understand was why the dead husband's family didn't realize that she needed another man (at the age of 32!!) to replace her dead husband?! They weren't just against her dating their other son, apparently they were assuming she would never date anyone EVER again ! Why would they all expect a young woman to remain a widow forever?!?!?! That's just wrong... The hero also had issues - guilt over the role he had in his brother's death AND the guilt of loving his sister in-law... Both issues were valid. However, the book focused on their issues and their guilt and their sneaking around the WHOLE time! It was stressful for me to read and it really bothered me!!

I could NOT relax and enjoy their relationship / their story(or their so-called chemistry) AT ALL , because i was annoyed and stressed out by all the guilty-sneaking around and the possibility they would get caught and that it would look much worse than if they just manned up and told the parents to mind their own business and that they are in love! The two of them also did not have any pleasant moments together - except for the sex - before or after sex they would be awkward around each other and panicked and stressed out and guilt-filled!

I guess it was a deeper and more dramatic read than a simple romance that i signed up for....

I had mixed feelings about this book. Although I liked it and I was entertained, I just thought Taylor and Jace's relationship, while intense and sexy, brought all kinds of awkwardness to the family. What do you tell the kids? I'm going to marry your uncle, so now he'll be your dad? And what happens if they had kids? Would Taylor's kids be the baby's uncles or siblings? Besides that, I liked the book, their HEA was well deserved. For years, they both repressed feelings they had for each other. Jace felt guilty for wanting his brother's wife. Taylor loved her husband, but he never made her feel the way Jace did. It was sad to see how their family was almost torn apart by guilt and buried feelings that they never voiced after Julie's husband died. I liked the way Jace stepped up and expressed his feelings for Taylor. He was a very likable character who did everything in his power to take care of Taylor and her boys. Taylor was pretty down to earth as well. As a mother, I could relate to her clash of emotions when it came to reconnecting with her inner femininity and being a mother at the same time. When those two dynamics clashed, she was torn and felt her children always came first before her needs. Overall, this was short, but sweet with a little hotness thrown in for good measure. I hope Jace and Taylor make an appearance in future books just so I can see how their family dynamic pans out and Jace's other siblings all have issues, which will lead to some interesting stories to come.

Contemporary widow finds forbidden love with her dead husband's youngest brother who may or may not been the reason he died in the first place. So much drama in that synopsis, but this is really a second chances romance with two people that grab their chance to be happy even though they know it will be big trouble to pay when everyone finds out about their naughty time together.
Lots of crazy sexy time with Taylor and Jace Jackson, the sexy scenes were really hot because they had both been celibate for a long (three years!) before they hop on each other and don't let go for the first week and when David walks in on them (so awkward!) and $hit hits the fan.
Taylor was a complicated character that searched for comfort and family in stead of trying for love and passion until she makes love with Jace Jackson, but that is a huge no-no in my book because family members are untouchable! So I was kind of grossed out at first but this author is HOT with the writing and you could tell that it was love and not lust from the beginning.
Well written and edited for a good story about balancing the woman in the mother/sister/wife/friend which is so difficult to do in real life so I really felt for Taylor's predicament.

This is the first time I have read anything by Jasmine Haynes and "Somebody's Lover" was free on Barnes & Noble. I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading the next two books of this series about the Jackson brothers.

This book was about Taylor Jackson who was married to Lou Jackson the oldest of the siblings. Widowed three years ago when Lou died on the job working for their family business leaving her and their two sons, Jamie and Brian. Taylor has always been seen as the loving wife, daughter-in-law, mother, or sister-in-law, now she want someone to make her feel like a woman for one night. She goes to a bar to pick someone up but finds herself face-to-face with her brother-in-law, Jace.

Jace is the youngest of the Jackson's and he has blamed himself for Lou's death. When he sees his brother's widow in the bar, he drags her out and things heat up for the two of them. Jace has always loved Taylor and now he cannot stop from showing her his passion for her.

Can Taylor let go of her fears trying to please everyone and can Jace let go of his guilt for his brother's death so they can have a new beginning....
