Hell’s Gate by Candy O’Donnell

I recently read the collection of short stories by Candy O’Donnell, entitled “Hell’s Gate.” I wanted to take the opportunity to write a short review and share my thoughts with you. Candy has a smooth writing style that flows from scene to scene and paints a vivid picture. She creates a wonderful canvas for your imagination. You can almost smell the scenes she describes.
I really enjoyed her characterizations. Well developed characters bring her scenery to life. I was drawn in by how she captures all of your senses with her prose. It was definitely a fun read.
Candy has a unique style that is very enjoyable to read. I’d definitely recommend it. Five out of five stars.

This book was a lucky find for me! I've been trying to read more indie genre authors and this afternoon, I chanced across this collection of ten short horror stories by the eclectic writer, Candy O'Donnell. For the price of a small cup of coffee, O'Donnell introduces readers to demon-slayers, zombies, ghosts, and not-so-loving families. Her writing is smooth and fast-paced, often with an undercurrent of dark humor that I really like. Regardless of your favorite brand of horror, there's something here for everyone!
