I was a bit confused as Julia wrote this book in the first person... so initially I was astounded as every entry was an endorsement of all the wonderful things about her... then I realized it was written that way so the reader would be reading about themselves. In that perspective it was quite uplifting and SO many blessings... one would never think of all them without these beautiful prompts. Thank you Julia for another wonderful book.
While this is not the Julia Cameron book, I enjoyed it thoroughly and will continue to use it as a journaling source.
When I flipped open the book while shopping, it fell to the devotional I needed that day. I had been pondering the lack of physical touch in my life and page 38 was the first page I opened.
Thank you, Julia Cameron for always inspiring me to grow.
Usually I have quite enjoyed other reads from Julia Cameron ; however, this time it seemed a bit pedantic in tone. I picked it up on and off as it was a good reminder of all we have of which to be grateful. Her chapter missives were short snippets of her own insights.
These prayers are comforting and inspiring. I enjoy opening up to a page and seeing what wisdom will speak to me that day, and so often I open up to a page that guided me to just the right topic of focus in my spiritual reflections for that time. Such a beautiful book.
This book is a sweet, small companion for daily life. I love to read a page before my meditation. It reminds me about what really matters and makes my day more sensually alive and meaningful. Leela Francis http://www.VividlyWoman.com
This is a good inspiration book, my only problem with this is it reads more like a sermon. That is not working for me, I feel I need to write a different version of blessing, not so heavy on the abstract. Not as good as some other titles by the author.
I've used this little book as a daily devotional for the past 4 years. I add the date and make notes in the margins each time I reread a page. It's been a valuable tool in developing a consistent habit of gratitude and prayer.
I am rereading BLESSINGS at this time. I've reread this book many times since buying it in 1998. We have so many blessings that at this season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we can forget how wonderful life is.
