Hidden in an otherwise modern world, where packs operate just under the surface of everyday life, werewolves mate in threesomes dictated by a mating lust that tells them without doubt who their fated mates are.
After struggling through years of separation made worse by the mating urge riding them all, three werewolves come together once again.
Maeve, Nate and Damian must face their past in a fight for their love and their lives. Can they overcome their demons to find a love that lasts?
This book has good vibes to it, I read another one of the authors before this set in the same environment with the wolf packs and loved it. Unfortunately this one was highly upsetting!! Spoiler alert.. one of the main female characters gets abused as a child. She leaves terrified abs wanting to protect the ppl she loves after suffering for 2 hrs at the hand of a pedophile. When she finally has the courage to reunite with her family and mates they are SO shitty to her! There’s some serious victim blaming! Her sister even has the nerve to make her feel guilty demanding she should have told them etc. hello?! Wtf. The victim is then mace to apologize to everyone! There is NO empathy or sympathy for her at ANY point in the story. Her mates accuse her of trying to leave again etc and try and make her feel like shit. What is wrong w these people? THEN if that weren’t bad enough the pedophile comes back randomly and manages to get away twice?! How does a big strong alpha pack let him escape? Again? I suspect the author doesn’t go into details on this because even she knows it’s ridiculous. Towards the end of the book the author tries to patronize the main female character.. and the reader by having her mates joke about how she kinda beat up the pedo before he left and wouldn’t wanna get in a fight w her etc... don’t patronize me. This woman is strong because she grew from her past and puts up with all these assholes (friends, family etc.). If your going to include such a traumatic event in your story... atleast leave out the victim blaming. Not at ANY point do her “loved ones” say to her... I’m sorry that this happened to you .. some kind of shred of empathy. Seriously disgusting.
As with the first installment in this series, the strength of the book is a bit of threeway steam. The relationship and background plot not particuarly compelling but interesting and creative enough to frame some basic MMF (somewhat bi-friendly) heat.
Maeve, Nate and Damien may have the toughest time of the Stonewall Pack couples. Maeve runs away right after finding her mates, because the pack alpha would surely kill anyone that had a claim on her, as that he has been abusing her for quite a while, and has no intention of stopping. So she disappears, and doesn't turn up again until she believes Ted, the alpha in question, is dead. Unfortunately she was misinformed, he's only been banished, not killed. So of course he comes after her again, since he's been obsessed with her for more than a decade. This causes all kinds of problems for the triad, and Maeve's family, as that her new brother in law is the new pack alpha. The family bands together to get rid of Ted once and for all, but he escapes. Luckily he runs far away, knowing now that he can't win back the Stonewall Pack.
i recieved an arc of this book by the author for an honest review.
Maeve met her mates but had to run away. 10 years later she is back not only to find them mated but to find them really really really pissed at her. can they over come their anger and built a future together?
The continuation of th stonewall pack series get better and better. Maeve,Damian and Nate struggling and having hot steamy sex and the anguish was just so palpable. The sex scenes were amazing and the way we saw the struggle each characer faced with their demons shows how well miss Conall can manipulate word and emotions! an amazing story!!!!!
A fast pace, smooth flowing plot, well written scenes and details capture the imagination and strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention as Maeve, Damian and Nate struggle to overcome past hurts in order to have their happily ever after. A quick, entertaining and passionate read. See my review of The Alpha’s Downfall The complete Stonewall Pack series at:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Maeve, Deirdre and Bridget's sister, comes back to town after being gone for 10 years. She had abandoned her mates Ned and Damian when she was 13, because Ted abused her and threatened to kill them. Can she rekindle their bond and complete the marking, will they forgive her for leaving them, only time will tell.
