This is Volume I of a six-volume serial novel.

A marriage of convenience has never been like this.

Just before her eighteenth birthday, the doctors tell Emily she has three months to live. Not much time to complete the bucket list she's had since she was twelve. The first item is the hardest--"Get married"--so she turns to the only man she knows who can help.

Paul, a barely reformed bad boy, has inherited a fortune from his mother, but his life is defined by his conflicted relationship with his father--a white-collar, organized-crime boss who, thanks to Paul, is being brought up on federal charges. Without Emily's testimony, his father might walk, so Paul agrees to her unconventional proposal. He'll be her husband for her last three months.

They agree that she'll testify against his father and he'll help her complete her bucket list. It's not supposed to be a true marriage. No consummation. No future. No love.

No love.

She's supposed to die, after all, and love might not be enough.

Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn't stopped writing since. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she teaches English, reads any book she can get her hands on, and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel.

She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she has decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances.

This is a remarkable read. I loved every bit of it and thought it moved along at a good pace. I was not tempted to skim through any parts of the book.

The story is a gripping, emotional trip with wonderful, well-developed characters and I couldn't put it down. This is one that I will reread in a few months.

I fell in love with Paul and Emily. Wouldn't every woman want a Paul in her life? I know I sure would.

I only had a couple of small problems and the first was their ages. I felt they were more like 22 and 27 or something in that range. I am not sure any 17 year old could have that much depth and wisdom. The same goes for Paul as well. Secondly, I thought the "shower issue for Paul" was way too often and very immature. Had he no self control at all?

But as a whole, I adored this book series. I was glad to purchase it all in one. I would have gotten too frustrated waiting for each episode to come out.

An interesting story. A young woman finds she has a mysterious, incurable virus and approaches the son of the mob boss she must testify against to marry her and help her complete her bucket list before she dies. This is a series of six novellas that has some really heartbreaking and emotional moments. Some parts are a little over the top, but all in all a good read.

**Review update**

I finished the series and here is my overall review...

What a fantastic read! I have to say, I am fairly impressed with Noelle Adam and I am so happy I took on a risk and decided to read Listed

When I first read the summary I was a little impressed, but kind of nervous because of the lack of reviews, but I figured since there’s 6 novellas it wouldn’t hurt to start with one.

[Summary]

Emily has 3 months to live. She has compiled a list of 14 things she wants to do before she dies and one of them is to get married. Paul wants Emily to testify in his father’s trial because she overheard incriminating evidence that would help put Paul’s father in jail. Emily tells Paul she will testify if Paul helps Emily complete her list, including marrying her. Paul agrees.

[Review]

Okay, so you are probably thinking is this going to be a sad book? Yes and no. Yes because Emily is dying and no because the story is so unrealistic. I basically read it as a fantasy. I am a huge fan of the whole damsel-in-distress story line and Listed is so there.

One of the most important things I look for in any romance novel is character development between the Hero and Heroine and you get that in Listed . I love there is no insta-love. I didn’t want Paul to look at Emily and magically fall in love with her, but I also didn’t want Paul to dislike her either. Paul treated Emily on a business-like level in the beginning and it was just really nice seeing the friendship form.

My favorite part is when Emily started to get symptoms and the story kind of shifted. You felt bad for Emily, yet it was really nice seeing Paul take care of Emily and going crazy with the fact that the girl is dying. Tragic I know, but it makes for a great read. There are a few steamy parts, but overall the story is pretty mild.

I really liked the writing style and flow of the book. Everything worked for me and I’m going to keep Noelle Adams on my radar.

Does reading novellas suck? Yeah, it does usually, but each book is pretty lengthy on its own (compared to other books that are broken into multiple parts), each is about 80 pages (except for the last part). You could buy the whole series and save a dollar (I would recommend that).

I think the ending is pretty obvious so don’t expect tears. If you want something light and you like the “save-me” theme kind of book, then Listed is for you.

What would you do if you only had 3 months to live? Emily knows. She has a list.

This is the first novella in a 6 part series....a very unique and clever way to follow Emily while she completes her bucket list.

Emily has been diagnosed with an incurable virus. All we know is it causes fevers and is eventually terminal. Very vague.

Paul is a man on a mission. Nope...not to save Emily! But to put his father in prison. Paul needs Emily's testimony so to compensate and keep her safe, he agrees to help her complete her "list".

First up: marriage. What girl doesn't want to get married?

Second up: see the Mona Lisa

Third item: go skinny dipping in a lake under the stars

Although I liked both of the central characters of this book, I wasn't feeling any type of potential connection between Paul and Emily. Hopefully that will turn around in the second novella......

This was a short read...a little longer than a novella. I liked the story but there wasn't a lot of sympathy for the heroin and the hero sort of fell short of what he could possibly bring to the table. He's 23, born into money and she's 17 with a terminal virus gotten from no one knows where and has 3 months to live. She has a bucket list and at the top is Get Married. So this fool thinks it's a good idea to marry a 17 y/o child to help fulfill her bucket list in exchange for her testimony against his father in court. Hey, at least she'll be dead in three months, so it's a right in line with how he stays with women anyway. I'm assuming the rest of the novella's, which should have been just 3 standard books, is about the rest of their story, but I don't know because I probably won't read them.

It's a series of novella's released as follows:

Volume I: February 8, 2013
Volume II: February 15, 2013
Volume III: February 22, 2013
Volume IV: March 1, 2013
Volume V: March 8, 2013
Volume VI: March 15, 2013

Yea...not so impressed.

This was a lovely beginning to what I hope to be a great little series. I really admire Emily's resilience and take-no-crap-from-anyone attitude, but I'm glad that she had her epiphany at the end of chapter 3. Marriage really is more than a ring and a ceremony. Speaking of which, the wedding ceremony was beautiful! Paul is so caring towards Emily and did such a great job organizing everything in such short notice. I can't wait to read more of this lovely couple.

Liked the idea that she knows that she's dying, and he does too. But then, I do not know but the girl's character is annoying me. LOL But I liked the guy, his character seems mysterious yet something.

And another issue with the author, I am not really into her writing style. :( I'm gonna read the next one though.

Adams Affairs #4
Fourth book from this biddy and first in a six part serial and well it is pretty lame and when you resort to using the word jiggling several times it gets even more tiresome.
Will it improve over the journey?
One is suspecting not but you never now it might ahem jiggle it's way to success!

Intriguing but not amazing

It is interesting plot idea that I'm looking forward to finishing. However, there are definitely typos. And I would prefer a single book instead of a bunch of novellas.

I loved this first part. A very original idea and a wonderful treatment. It's no sad at all. Even if we know Emily is very ill, she 's not sad and she has so much to do. Paul is wonderful and I think there's going to be a very interesting plot later. My only problem is to have to wait for the next part...

Very good beginning. Emily is 17 and has a terminal illness, a virus that there is no known cure for. The doctors have estimated that she only has about three months left to live. She's currently living under the protection of 23 year old rich boy Paul; she is lined up to give evidence in an upcoming trial against Paul's father, who has been involved in organised crime. Emily doesn't want to waste away the final few months of her life in hospital futilely trying one drug after another to cure her illness, she wants to LIVE the last months fully. Digging out a "bucket list" she wrote at age 12 she sets out to cross off everything she has "listed", and number one on the list is getting married...

I felt this was a really engaging beginning to the story. The protagonists were likeable although Emily was a bit immature at some points she is only 17 and she realises that she is being unreasonable in resisting the precautions Paul tries to take for both her health and her safety. Her attitude to her illness is amazing, you can't help but be impressed by how she never lets herself mourn the future she won't have, she pushes her feelings aside and concentrates on living.

This is the first is a six part serial. Emily has a virus that is incurable and in three months going to kill her. She is a key witness in a mobster trial. Paul is the mobster's son and he is also testifying against him and trying to protect Emily until then.

I thought this book started off okay. Wished there was a little more back story first but otherwise okay. It seems like there relationship is a different one. Paul seems to be trying to be Emily's white knight and Emily is the damsel but she doesn't see herself as that. Emily's disease is mentioned but that's about it in this part. This is about Emily and Paul's marriage. Emily has a bucket list and marriage is the first thing on it and since she is living with Paul till the trail is over and/or she passes - she figured that she would marry him and then after she dies Paul can go on with his life. Emily is seventeen and Paul is twenty-two - a little unorthodox but hey she doesn't have the luxury of waiting till she is older or in love. All she has is her bucket list and the trail.
Paul is a good guy to help Emily with her bucket list. He feels really bad for the hand she has been dealt in life.

It's easy to finish each book of Listed since its just a few pages. Well, i enjoyed the first book of this series so maybe i could go on with it.
This is the book where the meeting and the situation of the 2 protagonists are explained/discussed. Emily is dying from some unknown disease cause by some rare virus and wanted to finished her bucket list before passing on while Paul is the bad boy in town that want his father to be imprisoned to pay for maybe leaving him and his mother and well being bad. Where is he romance? They need each other to fulfill each other's wish. Emily needs Paul's power and money to check her list while Paul needs Emily to be a witness against the wrongdoings of his father so win-win in both parties if they work together.
There is not a lot of romance in this part of the series just maybe some awww from the readers in how sweet and caring Paul is to Emily which is i don't know if out of pity or just he started to develop the feelings. Well, we will know that as we read the other books.

Edited on 28th Feb '16- Below is the review after reading the first vol. but after the reading the entire series I felt the need to say that the book turned out to be amazing!
3.5-4Stars. Noelle Adams's books have always had a way of luring me to them. I love the themes, the book covers and her writing in really good too. But it seemed to lack a sort of wow factor. Listed vol.1 was a decent read and I'm very eager to see how things turn out but as of now, this book was just good. I'm really hoping that the story gets better. (Maybe I'm just being impatient since it is after all 1 out of 6 parts) I like the book but I really want more.
P.S--> I didn't really like Emily in the beginning. She seemed far too snobbish, bratty and short tempered. By the end of the novella, I didn't Hate her, but that's about all. Paul, on the other hand, I found really sweet.
Vol.6 <--My review for the whole series

Book Review- Listed, Vol. 1 by Noelle Adams

Emily Brennan has been diagnosed with the same virus as her aunt. The doctors said it was terminal. She had to decide what to do with the final three months of her life. She decides to cross off as many things from her bucket list as she can.
The first one is to get married. She makes a deal with Paul Marino so he will marry her. She is only seventeen but she has known Paul forever. He is determined to take care of her since she is testifying against his father.
This first volume of Listed contains the first three characters of the story. It is a quick read that pulls you in pretty quickly and leaves you wanting more. The proposition that Emily approaches Paul with is interesting. The situation is sad and troubled. Emily is so young to be thinking about a bucket list and death. It definitely wets your appetite for the rest of the volumes. I give it a 4 out of 5

Great first installment in the serial.

Emily is a feisty character who unfortunately has a terminal virus that the doctors can't explain and has already taken the life of the last relative she had left. I love her tenacity and her bravery; even if she doesn't always feel brave.

Paul...I like him and think he's a good fit for someone like Emily. He treats her with kid gloves when he first meets her, but as they get to know each better, the kid gloves come off and he willingly does whatever it takes to keep Emily safe.

Can't wait to dive into the next installment!

This was an interesting read, but an odd arrangement indeed! Emily has a deadly virus that is non curable with only 3 months to live. She has created a bucket list of things to do before she dies. Paul is the son of a department store mogul mother and mobster father. He is in need of Emily to testify against his father. This mutual connection draws them together for an unemotional journey....will it turn to love....to be continued!

This is a very original story told in six parts. Emily has a virus that's killing her and she only has three months to live. Her aunt died from the same virus and there seems to be no cure. They were both witnesses against a crime boss who's awaiting trail. The crime boss son Paul is protecting her. She has a "buck list" she wants to complete before she dies and marriage is one of them. I can't wait to read the other installments to see what happens next.

Great story about a girl name Emily who has a virus that is killing her. She only has so much time so shes is trying to get the 14 things done on her bucket list. She starts with the first one and she ask bad boy Paul if he will marry her. He says yes but when he gets the first dose of what this virus does to her will he be able to handle taking care of her as a husband should?

It's a great story and a must read!

I got the first three volumes of Listed free on Kindle; books IV and V were less than a dollar each. Waiting for book VI which is supposed to be out today! I'm enjoying this story--it's intriguing and more than just a typical romance. The characters' ages are a little unrealistic, I think, and it is a bit repetitive in its descriptions, but otherwise, a good story!

It was a very quick read, but it left more questions than answers for me...I didn't dislike the story, but I haven't really got any sort of connection to the characters. I'll continue to read the series, but only because I'm semi-interested in what else is on the list and I'm not one that can walk away from a series unfinished.

Rating - 3.5 stars.

There are books that you enjoy reading but don't exactly like them. This book is of that kind. I had fun reading it and managed to complete it in an hour (YES I DID :D) but that's because this was a short novella. Also, I did skip a lot of parts since the book was dragged unnecessarily in trivial areas. Nonetheless, I'm hoping to read all of the series' parts sooooon!

A dying girl with a proposition to a wealthy ex-jerk, the story starts from there. I can’t say much about Listed except I’ve read all the six parts more than once and it still makes me cry. This part tells how the arrangement done, how Paul and Emily met and how they start their battle against Emily’s sickness and Paul’s dark trial.
