It's a new year and the first week of January, which means turning over a new leaf and making resolutions that, for me, usually end up forgotten by February. To try to bolster my resolve to change, I read this little e-book (which at 23 pages is essentially a pamphlet) "Banned Mind Control," a catchy title to make the reader think that hidden secrets *THEY* don't want you to know will be revealed. But there are no secrets here, just basic common-sensical advice on how to get your ass in gear. The bullet points are:
-To actually make positive changes, positive thoughts have to be embedded in your subconscious; however, the conscious mind must accept those thoughts first.
-This all begins through constant and repeated AFFIRMATIONS. The affirmations must be VERBALIZED, whether orally, on paper, or digitally. All affirmations must be POSITIVE. Not: "I don't want to be a size 16 anymore and look fat." Not: "I want to lose 20 lbs because I want to fit into a size 12 dress and look good." But: "I will look fantastic fitting into that size 12 dress."
-The words used in your affirmations are to create positive FEELINGS. It is the feeling that is ingrained in our subconscious, and this is what is important, not the words.
-You must follow a ritual of: AFFIRMATION: Create the thought and give it life through vocalized, repeated words. VISUALIZATION: Believe in the thought as if it were really happening. MEDITATION: Encourage a peaceful mindset by eliminating negativity through positive sensory perceptions (breathing, touch, music, etc.,).
-Be careful of what goes into the subconscious mind unconsciously. That means, if current events aggravate you and send you into a fit, block the cable news channels. If the tv is blasting in a waiting room with an anchor telling you how horrible the world is, focus on your crossword puzzle. If at a family function Uncle Ed and Cousin Joe won't stop talking politics, go check out what the kids are doing. In other words, LET IT GO. By learning meditation skills you learn how to block out negative triggers.
-Inundate every part of your life with affirmations. Use your PC/laptop/ tablet to display subliminal positive affirmations. Like pinning up those cute kitten posters with upbeat statements, creating a hopeful environment is essential to keeping you motivated. Make a screensaver with a supportive message or change the name of your computer, user id, password, or wifi name/code into an encouraging phrase. Write your messages over and over in a journal. If you're in the car alone, put those declarations to music and sing aloud.
Sooner or later, those words transform your mindset. You have changed your outlook and are capable of achieving your goals because, on the most fundamental level, you truly know you can.
Decent stuff, but as I said, since there are only 23 pages, it's not very deep. The real work is up to you.
No nonsense how to book that cuts thru endless pages of possible rhetoric that would eventually get you to where this book brings you in just a few chapters. Several methods given in easy to understand procedures. Just takes a little perseverance on the readers part and some dedicated practice to make changes in our own realities. I for one will give it my best and report back on how I made out
Explains in clear and simple language the basic concepts of law of attraction. The writing is to the point and no unnecessary material to confuse the reader. Must read for people interested in this subject.
Because I have a background in engineering, I often have a difficult time understanding or applying the teachings from self-help books that use metaphysical or semi-spiritual methods to apply their lessons. Luckily, this book explains things from a more scientific point of view and I found it very easy to follow. The authors explanation not only made it easy to understand his point, but now I feel I have a much better understanding of other self help books I have read.
All the book from this author is excellent. I don't care about the typos; for me, the most important thing is the messages. Nobody is perfect, and I think his great intention is to show us one of the essential techniques to manifest effortlessly. I'm grateful for all the texts from this author and Amazon for giving people opportunities like this to have great information at hand. Also, thanks to Kindle Unlimited because it is a fantastic tool.
It's book is short and right to the point with great advices on how to work in your subconscious mind using well drafted affirmations, visualization and meditation.
I loved the simplicity of how he put his ideas on the book. I have read quiet a number of his books and I am always amazed at how he delivers with so much easy, love and simplicity. Thank you
One of the most ridiculous things I think I've read on the premise of self-improvement. Not worth the time I invested which thankfully was very little.
