Mystro Mason longs for a family, complete with a beautiful wife, but she has a problem with falling in love with the wrong women. It is not until a Washington DC judge threatens her with a jail sentence, after an order of protection was issued, that she slows down her stalker tendencies. But, she discovers it is easier said than done. Native Houston, Mystros roommate and comrade, is all about clothes, shoes and her lust for a multitude of women. But after losing her job for trying to bed the boss, she soon realizes that her careless actions are coming back to haunt her. Church is a vixen who enjoys the company of women, but the only thing she loves more is money. When Mystro meets Church, it is love at first sight in her eyes. But, everything that looks good is not always good for you. Although Mystro is busy falling in love, again, Native can see Church for who she really is, and tries to warn her friend before its too late. The problem is that once Mystro has her mind made up, there is no stopping her, even if she goes too far. Hersband Material booms with craziness, drama and betrayal, as Mystro and Native attempt to discover who they really are.
Because I love character-driven books, the best part of this book for me was the friendship between Mystro and Native (and Baby Dom). So when is the sequel coming out?
Before anything I have to pick at C. Wash for the misspelled words and tense changes since I read she's the VP of a publishing company. Stand over that editor's shoulder. Anywho...didn't make me like the book any less.
For a minute I had sworn off LBGT novels, because the writing has been a joke with the exception of a few Authors I can name off the top of my head. This book had my heart beating out of chest. It took me a second to catch her wrting style but once I did I was in love. She made these charaters so real. I swear I know someone like each and every one of them, well except for Chruch, who may I say was TRASH! On top of it being filled with questioning moments it was hilarious. I loved Baby Dom lol. Native was just laid back and blunt, loved that too. Mystro was STUPID, but I still kind of felt sorry for her. She was dealt a bad hand. I loved their names...so different. I even enjoyed the East Coast language. I didn't feel thrown off. I hope this book has a second part. It better with that cliff hanger ending. All-in-all I enjoyed it and I'd recommend it.
Native was an ass. Felt bad for Mystro always falling hard, to quick for the wrong females. I feel Baby Dom was just trying to help the homie see what's up. I do hope there is part 2, would love to read more from C. Wash. Love the book for a first.
"Hersband Material" was a good debut by C. Wash. It was my first full on female-to-female read and I enjoyed it. Mystro, although understandable and relate-able, irked me to no return. She was one of those broads that you would have to hit with a glove full of pennies to get her to understand. Native was a cool chick...or Dom rather. She's the type of girl we would all need as a friend. Church....BLAH and Baby Dom changed my initial thought of her. The book was good and I loved the author's writing, but something about it...idk...I can't quite put my finger on it. Whatever it was, I subtracted half a star for it and also for the grammar issues. I can't wait for part 2 to be released.
Loved this book, i can't wait for part 2. This isn't your mother's fatal attraction books this takes it to a whole new level. Church was a ganster in this book and its to bad she couldn't see what was coming for her in the end. I almost felt sorry for Mystro because she was too caught up and loved too hard and she had a horrible price to pay for her love. Native was trying so hard to be hard that when she found something good she was caught up too and BAby dom she was just trying to find her way. These ladies had such a hard time finding the one thing we all want in life ... LOVE!
I really enjoyed this book. This book showed what happens when you look for love in all the wrong places. Mystro and Native were road dogs down for each other. In my opinion Baby Dom might have been shiesty but she held her friends down. I knew something was fishy about Church ole' funky ass. I really hope it's a part two because you can't leave us like that. It was a great book a 5+ star read, Come on part 2.
Yes! Loved this book. Church was manipulative and was only out for self. Mystro loved, and when she did she loved hard. Which was a downfall for her. Native was very blunt with her words and what she wanted from other people. Baby Dom was a little off, but she was a good friend. I'm sure there's gonna be a second part with the cliff hanger we were left with.
I truly enjoyed this book. C. Wash did a great job in her debut novel. I was waiting to see characters get what's coming to them. normally lesbian books can be too much for me when it comes to the sex scenes; however, this author gave enough details without being overly detailed
For this to be C.Wash's debut novel, I was blown away! The characters read like people I know. Native was by far my favorite character! This was a different read for me but I am anxiously awaiting the next book. Once again The Cartel Publications have yet to disappoint.
this, was a great book held my attention from the first page to the last waiting on part 2 great character development the storyline was good and kept me guess on what was going to happen next
I don’t read synopsis so I walked into this blind. From the beginning scene I had it set up in my head how this story was gonna go… Typical if I can’t have you nobody can “romance”. I was pleasantly wrong!
While Mystro does exhibit insane ex behavior this book was about so much more. It was about Friendship, Family… the ones we create and the ones we are born into, betrayal, sex and love. The cast of characters, even the villains were awesome and the unlikely hero was the perfect bow on top!
Im counting down for the release of part two as I’m sure it will be well worth the wait!
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well developed and they kept me interested. The twist was really interesting and I look forward to reading the sequel. I’d love to see this on the big screen.
This was a good book that pulled me in. I understood Mystro want for love and her own family. Unfortunately it kept her open to get hooked up with the wrong people. I loved Native. She was a tough female that will have you laughing at some of her antics. Church was a conniving broad that only cared about dollar signs. C. Wash you did a great job bringing this story to life. I will be on the lookout for the next book.
This was a different story then what I'm use to but it was very interesting and kept you intrigued I found my self laughing at the characters dialogue. Mystro did work my nerves a little cause she was so blinded by lust and didn't see church for the sneaky untrustworthy person she was . I loved mystro and natives name they were unique . I would like to see more of the characters
Mystro and Native are best friends who are in need of some serious money, and start dancing in order to get it. Them, they meet Church and everything goes down from there. Hersband Material is created for private entertainment, but ends up being a public affair. I could not put this book down, and can't wait fir the sequel. Way to go, C. Wash!!!
I REALLY LOVED READING THIS BOOK. I FEEL SORRY FOR MYSTRO, SHE REALLY WANTS A FAMILY SHE JUST CANT MEET THE RIGHT GIRL. CHURCH WAS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS.. CANT WAIT TO READ THE NEXT PART. GOOD JOB
