This book was one of three devotionals that I read in 2015. I have been trying to incorporate a more conscious practice of gratitude into my life, and I thought that this book would help and inspire me. This is a collection of short daily musings of gratitude from various writers. I read this book, for the most part, as it was intended by reading one a day on the assigned day. Every once in a while, I got behind, and would just double or triple up when necessary.
A few of these were inspiring and quite awesome. My favorite was from February 23rd. The time that I really remembered to implement the practice mentioned on that day made such a difference in my days and in the days of others, I believe. June 3rd gives a good description of why a life of gratitude is so important. While these were some of the stand out readings, far too many of these were a little too new age like and spacey for me. Like many books of this nature, it was a mixed bag. Still, I think that it was worth it for the hidden gems.
This book was a free download from the Amazon kindle store.
I just couldn't get into it. I was hoping by the title and description that it would be various ideas/prompts for ways of showing gratitude whether it be in daily actions or journaling exercises. Alas, no it is just random peoples stories/gratitude's one for each day of the year. Glad I checked it out from the library vs buying it or I would be sad to have wasted my money.
