This was the best Sunday afternoon read...I loved it! I could relate to some of the emotions since my husband was deployed several times.

The book opens with the return of a missionary pilot who had spent the last 6 years in the South American jungles after he was captured by rebels. Cassie, his wife, is crushed when the reunion fails to be all she had dreamed it could be. He seems to have lost two very important things during captivity: his faith in God and his love for her.

Full of tender emotion, this book will encourage and challenge your depth of commitment to Christ and your spouse.

This is a story of a missionary pilot and his wife as he is taken hostage by rebels for over six years. Cassie, his wife, prayed for his return and it came but not without complications. During his captivity he lost his love for God and his wife. The story leads you through their time of his return twist by emotional twist as the two try to find their way back to each other. Keep the kleenex near as you may want to cry with Cassie as feel her emotional pain through the process!!

Fantastic read

I found the book riveting from start to finish. I have always wondered how others cope when it feels like God left them alone

Faith, Hope, & Love
By Kimberly Rae Jordon.
On the day that Cassie had planned to tell, her Missionary Pilot husband, Quinn they were expecting their first child; Quinn was taken hostage. Six years would pass without solid word about his condition. Then miracolusly he is released and returned to his family. However the man whom cassie get’s back is not the man she lost. He is without faith and it seems without love for anyone but the child he missed seeing born. The book is about the journey towards healing and restoration of this family. Will Quinn be able to open up and rediscover his faith in God and his love for his wife?

Mrs. Jordan has written a book that draws the reader into the world of Cassie and Quinn. We experience the struggle of a wife, who thinks her prayers are finally answered only to have that hope canceled by a man broken and scarred spiritually and emotionally by his years in captivity. We experience the struggle of the husband who wants to love but has buried that emotion so deep to protect himself that he doesn’t even know how to begin uncovering it. On top of that we have the same man convinced that God forsoke him in the jungle and is not willing to return to faith in a God like that. I personally was drawn into these characters lives and forgot several times that I was reading a fiction book. The anguish and situations Mrs. Jordan put her characters through seemed so life like and realistic that I, as a pastor, found myself wanting to pick up the phone and call and encourage them.

This book using the power of fiction sheds light on several key spiritual truths: knowing that God is in control, restoration of faith, learning to let go of your own expectations for when and how God is going to work. Even realizing that sometimes what we think is a bad situation God is using to bring the light of salvation to others. This book was a real joy to read and one that I couldn’t put down from page one to the final word of the epilog. Even then, I was wanting to know what happens next. If you have the time this is a worth while read.

Wonderful Book! As I finish this book here the week of Easter. I can not express what a peaceful feeling I hold. I Know I was chosen, to choose this book by a greater spirit to which I firmly believe. The loving, and held-fast faith has been renewed but it never left. A wonderful Christian Romance and undying faith. GREAT FOR THE HEART AND SOLE.

Faith Hope and Love

Jane Grey's No-Spoiler Christian Romance Reviews: Faith, Hope & Love, by Kimberly Rae Jordan

So, what’s it about?

Cassie and Quinn are young, happy newlyweds living in Columbia as missionaries. Very soon in the tale, however, the story-book romance is disrupted by devastation – Quinn is captured by a rebel group and held hostage… for years! The story doesn’t dwell on this. It picks back up when Quinn is rescued and reunited with Cassie (Not a spoiler, this literally happens right around the end of chapter 1). So, the main story is not the adventure in Columbia, but the struggle that happens years later at home when Cassie must find a new normal with a man who is practically a stranger to her now, and Quinn must rediscover his faith and love for a Lord who has seen fit to reward his years of faith and service with years of suffering as a hostage.

The story is mostly told from Cassie’s perspective (3rd person) but sometimes we get a chapter from Quinn’s point of view as well.

Is it actually Christian?
1. The “Could I recommend this to my little sister?” test:
Yes. There are no curse words, no sex scenes, no inappropriate themes. However, there are more “mature” themes of Cassie working to save her marriage and be a good mother, so a younger woman or teen may not relate to it as well as someone in their late twenties and older.
2. Are the characters Christian?
Yes. The supporting characters and the heroine have a strong relationship with God, pray often, and go to church. The hero struggles with his faith after a traumatic experience, and the author writes this struggle well. It’s very relatable to people who have gone through difficult times that shake their faith and test their relationship with God.

Is the writing good?
Yes. The writing is surprisingly solid. First of all, you won’t have to deal with bad editing and glaring spelling/grammar issues. That’s a major plus right off the bat. And the writing itself is decent. It’s not literary-genius level, and it’s not particularly clever. But it has a great flow, it’s almost comforting in its simplicity. The bottom line is Kimberly Rae Jordan is better than the average romance novelist.

What’s the message?
The author does a great job navigating the complexity of feelings between Cassie and Quinn as they re-adjust. The story really emphasizes the fact that when you draw closer to God and love him, you will invariably draw closer to your wife and love her more as well.

A strong relationship with God will help you to have a strong relationship with your spouse.
It’s such a simple message, but it’s a really important one, and it’s the heart of this book.

Most importantly, was the romance good?
Well … It’s a tricky feat to write a passionate romance about two long-separated and long-suffering lovers who are just trying to keep their marriage together. Kimberly Rae Jordan solves this by showing us how the relationship used to be in flashbacks – and yes, the romance was good!
The present relationship, however, is not so great, in fact it’s even a bit irritating. But we do get to see the couple fall in love again. So, even though you will be just as frustrated with Quinn as Cassie is throughout the story, you will come to love the hero, too. This isn’t exactly a lighthearted love story, but it’s still a love story, and God is at the very center of it.

Would I recommend it?
Yes. But not everyone will love it. I would say it’s a relaxing read. Some readers might find the story focuses on the mundane – I don’t think it’s mundane so much as homey. It helps that the book has a quick pace so the story moves and is never boring, even if there’s a lot of domesticity and not a lot of action.

Excerpt from Faith, Hope & Love

Slowly she got up from the bed. Cassie rubbed a hand over her eyes knowing there was no way to hide the fact that she’d been crying. It would take some cold cloths and makeup in order to do that and there was no time with Quinn standing on the other side of the door.

Reluctantly she opened her the door.

“Are you okay? Quinn asked, concern evident in his eyes.

“I’m fine. Just needed to have a cry.”

“The door was locked.”

Cassie turned and walked back into the room. Quinn followed her and Cassie realized this was the first time he’d been in their room. Or rather, the room that was supposed to have been theirs.

“You don’t have to lock the door to keep me out, Cassie. I would never barge in on you, disrupt your privacy.”

Tears once again hovered near the surface. She wondered what he’d think if she told him that she wanted him to disrupt her privacy. She wanted him to feel comfortable walking into their room but right then it seemed that would never happen. Any optimism she’d held over the past couple of weeks was vanishing under the weight of the emotion of the day.

“I know. I just didn’t want you to find me bawling my eyes out. Embarrassed, I guess.” Cassie turned and saw Quinn looking around the room, taking it all in. She wondered what he thought of what he saw. She’d decorated it with him in mind but he’d never know that. The wall she was building around her heart to protect her vulnerabilities was getting thicker and thicker. If only she could read his mind. If only she had a clue of what he was thinking about their future.

Really good book

I really loved this book, everything that happened seemed really normal, orient make me think naw no-one would really do that. Sometimes I wanted to slap both cassie and Quinn but that's what make books even better, when they do things that frustrates you , because that's real life. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. I was kinda expecting a little more, but it was it was a kinda dull and boring ending. But otherwise a really good book.

I can't imagine being separated from my husband for six years without any word whether he was alive or dead. And then, to be reunited...but not to be able to connect with him. What torture. This author has done a splendid job of bringing such a scenario to life. The ending is very sweet, although I wonder if, in real life, things could change so drastically so fast. If you want a sweet romance, this is a good one.

Wow—Having walked through, via Facebook updates, Rev. Phyllis Sortor’s kidnapping and release in 2015, and read about the miracles that happened since, this book struck home to me. If you liked this fictional story, please read Phyllis’ story, Kidnapped, which is also on Amazon. You will be amazed at what God can do. I highly recommend both these books!!

FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE

Quinn comes home after spending six years as a hostage in the jungles of Columbia. It's a good story about their family reunification, but it was very drawn out.

This book had a lot in it. It was adventurous and had one anger at the Lord. It tells how they deal with
the problems they are facing in their marriage. I enjoyed this one as much as I have the others ones
written by her. Hope you enjoy this one also.

This is a gut-wrenching story. After the first half, I wasn't sure I wanted to finish it. Thankfully, a turning point came soon after that, and Jordan has done an excellent job of bringing out the issues involved and how God can work things out.

I really liked this book. Good plot. Definite page turner. It was good to read from Quinn's perspective and why he acted how he did. I also felt Casey's pain during certain times in the book when she longed for her husband but could not get close. I liked the flashbacks that the couple had during happier times.
At the end of the day, I liked what Quinn realized about his faith and mission.

This was recommended to me a long time ago and I finally got around to reading it. It was a good book, I liked it. Its a serious book and had me crying in parts. Quinn and Cassie are serving a mission in Columbia when Quinn is kidnapped. Six years later Cassie is still hopefully for his return and is raising their daughter alone. She receives word that he has been found and is on his way home. Their homecoming is bittersweet. Quinn is not the same man and has changed a lot during his captivity. He has hardened his heart, especially where Cassie is concerned.

While I enjoyed the story, I thought the religious elements were too much of a focus and at times irritating. A lot of the story is told through inner-thought and while sometimes that is nice, I prefer more conversation. I thought some things were resolved too quickly. I wanted to see Cassie and Quinn rediscover each other and fall in love again. The end was a little too quick and since we don't get to see their time together (time talking, joking, etc) it felt rushed. Maybe I'm just used to more romance in books, I would have loved to see more affection between them. Maybe not at first, but definitely later on when they were starting to grow closer.

Overall, a thought-provoking read. I liked the story and characters.

I have now read all of Kimberly Rae Jordan's currently published books but it seems that I saved the best till last! Faith, Hope and Love had me gripped from the first page as I followed the story of Quinn and Cassie.

Both Cassie and Quinn have suffered in different ways during their six years of forced separation resulting from Quinn being held hostage in the Colombian jungle. Cassie is delighted when her prayers are finally answered and her beloved husband is freed. However the man who returns to her is a very different person from the loving, faith-filled husband she married. During his brutal captivity Quinn has become very angry with God and has suppressed his emotions in order to cope with his situation.

Kimberly has written what comes across as an authentic and honest story of Cassie and Quinn's struggles as they try to deal with the past and look to the future. There are some very beautiful and poignant moments on their separate but parallel journeys towards healing and reconciliation. The characters, their emotional battles and their faith come across as very real. As always Kimberly presents us with very relatable human beings.

I highly recommend Faith, Hope and Love. It's one of those books that gets right inside your heart and your spirit and will stay with you long after you've turned the last page.

This story was heartbreaking, joyful, & all different emotions!!! I bawled my head off during this book as the author takes you through their journey!!! This story reminds us that we are a voice for the Gospel, no matter what our circumstances - & regardless of our circumstances, God will NEVER leave us nor will he ever forsake us! One of the best books I've ever had the privilege of reading!!! I love this author (she is somewhat of a new find for me!) & I look forward to more of what she writes!!!

Good book

It was a good book with a good story line, but it has a lot of grammatical errors. Either the wrong word our the wrong version of the word. It should have been proofread better.

But it was good too read about a couple who took their views seriously and didn't consider their marriage disposable as the world's in general does.

It's nice to find authors who write these good wholesome books who can help strengthen testimonies. Who help you to realize that you are not alone when deaLing with spiritual trying test.

Thank you.

I love reading about missionaries; past, present & fiction. Many believe that they have an easy life. This book shows some of the realities that they may not know of or choose to turn a blind eye. This will open them for sure. No matter where you are, if you are a Christian, people are watching you. This book does a great job of showing what happens when we keep our faith & when we loose it. God is with us through it all.

Faith, Hope and Love

This was a great book. I could barely put it down to sleep. It's a different type of book than the normal Christian love story. It's about missionaries where the husband is captured and held captive for six years with Cassie, his wife, doesn't know whether he's dead or alive. I'm not going to spoil the story, but it's definitely worth reading. So many twists and turns in the plot. Enjoy!

It has been awhile since I read this story on my Kindle and when I found it, I could not remember it after reading a couple of reviews, I began to recall bits and pieces.
The low rating is because I know it was not all that long ago that I read it but it apparently did not make all that big an impression.
