Hot and Steamy!

What I love about these two books is even though the time period in which the stories take place, is one in which women were given no choice as to whether they could have an education or even who they could marry, the female protagonists each have backbone and are truly unconventional. Love the fact that she gives them both a healthy sex life since we all realize in these modern times that people in the 16th century were just as sexual active as we are now; they just didn’t talk about it openly. The men are gallant, flawed, handsome, sexy and accept the women as they are. The witchcraft aspect adds just the right amount of conflict and danger to the story and as with other books that I’ve read by the author, the romance and passion is the kind we all wish we could experience.

These are "hot reads" -- and, if you are so inclined, you could probably skip straight over the 'plotty bits' to get straight to the sex scenes. I prefer less sex and more story so read my review with that bias in mind.

I found the first book pretty much unreadable (too much of him panting for her and vice versa - ugh.) The first female protagonist is whiny and unbearable: "Poor me, I'm having sex with him - and it is hot, hot, hot - but I can't tell him my secret!" This went on until I simply DNFd and skipped ahead to the second book.

Book Two I enjoyed - hence the stars.

The second book revolves around a terrified, yet plucky young woman who disguises herself as a (male) page in order to survive. The disguise cuts down on the sex scenes and increases the romance. Much better balance for me. Loved the story.

Loved both stories! Both were entertaining and heartwarming. These heros sure know how to protect and show the women they love that they won't be giving up of them. If you're on the fence about purchasing then get off and go buy this set! Go back in time when court life ruled your life and decisions. The rich history plays a part in these tales as well. Very well executed!

A Fun Story

I enjoyed these stories. Fun. Light. Adventure. A little mystery. The issue I have with CJ Archer’s Books, is that I feel like I lose friends when the series end! Just want more!

mystery, magic, and wishy-washiness

Loved the mystery, magic, and romance. I wasn’t sold on how often the heroines changed their minds and why. Both stories could have been longer and I would have kept reading.

I bought the Witchblade series, boxed set on the 29th of March and finished it last night. I absolutely adored the whole thing. It was just as enthralling as the Medium series, although as a non youth book, it did have much more titillating excerpts.
I am seriously hooked on C.J. Archer as one of my fav authors.

I have to say this was a pretty good read, but for a book about witchcraft there was very little witchcraft in it. Still, it was enjoyable and Isabel is a fantastic character. Would have liked more about her witchiness, but otherwise enjoyable. I won't be reading the second installment though.

Honor Bound was 5 stars hands down. Kiss of Ash was more like 4 - 4.5 stars - very good but I felt like there was too much going on. Overall I loved both books.
