I've read a lot of books about sketching lately. This might be my pick of the lot. Baskinger moves quite deftly between discussing gear, technique and different philosophical approaches to drawing. He talks about the roles and purposes drawing can play in the design process and how designers (and others) can harness its power.

The examples in the book are consistently brilliant and the interviews with practitioners provide insight and a little...if not inspiration, definitely aspiration.

All in all, a fantastic read.

Some great ideas and inspiration for using drawing in your everyday work. The illustration style is a bit more elaborate than I'm likely to use on whiteboards or in notebooks but the general concepts are useful.
