Thanks to an embarrassing incident involving a wedding and her ex-boyfriend Marcus, Lucy has to leave her home town in a hurry and needs a place to escape for a while.

Best friend Fiona is convinced now would be a good time for Lucy to get herself a new life with some potential for romance thrown in. Fate seems to agree when Lucy is given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to star in a TV show and be a contestant on The Love Programme - two weeks of luxury living on a grand Highland estate coupled with, she hopes, fun and romance in wildest Scotland.

When Lucy meets Paul - the young, handsome owner of the Highland estate - she thinks she may have found the love of her life, but who is the mysterious Hannah and what part does she play in his life? When she discovers that Marcus is planning to follow her to Scotland to win her back Lucy has some serious soul searching to do. Does she have a future with Paul, with Marcus or is she yet to find the man of her dreams?

Zanna Mackenzie lives in the UK with her husband, 3 dogs, a vegetable patch that’s home to far too many weeds and an ever expanding library of books waiting to be read.

Being a freelance writer and editor of business publications is her ‘day job’ but, at every opportunity, she can be found scribbling down notes on scenes for whatever novel she’s working on. She loves it when the characters in her novels take on minds of their own and start deviating from the original plot!

Formerly a travel agent and therapist (she has qualifications in clinical aromatherapy, crystal healing, naturopathic nutrition and herbalism) she loves walking the dogs and gardening – that’s when she’s not writing or reading!

After her best friend tells her about a TV show, The Programme, Lucy Strokes has an opportunity to go to Scotland for some fun and romance. She will get to meet and date someone new, in the hope it will help her to forget her childhood sweetheart, Marcus. Paul is the owner of the Scotland lavish home where the programme is being filmed. When he meets Lucy, he is intrigued and will do everything in his power to make her forget about Marcus. Lucy is certain Marcus would always be the man in her life, but that is not the case. She knows it would be hard, but she decides to push him out of her head and move on with her life, perhaps doing some traveling and finding the true love to share her adventures. After signing up for the show, she connects with Paul. He opens her eyes and heart to many events. As Lucy weighs the situation, she must make the right decision. Will Marcus continue to stay in her way? The Love Programme is quite captivating in the way Lucy shares her emotions with the audience. She is a dynamic young woman who is strong in all her actions. The reader is able to grow right along with Lucy, as she struggles through finding her one true love who is sincere from the heart. Paul has his own depths, as he suffers through obstacles and realizes Lucy is the right person to stay by him through thick and thin. Ms. MacKenzie incorporates life-like characters that definitely have a voice. She tells a story many can relate to their lifestyle. Her handling of the scenery and landscape of Scotland dazzle through the pages, too. Cherokee Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More - See more at: http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/Book...

Ms. Mackenzie's novel The Love Programme starts out with a bit of bang and keeps on going.

Imagine, going to a wedding only to have the bridegroom protest to his own ceremony on the grounds of still being in love with you? Only problem is, he's not anywhere close to your Mr. Perfect.

Yes, that's exactly how this book begins, and the MC, Lucy escapes to Scotland and ends up on a reality show, The Love Programme, where participants go through staged dates set up to please the public audience. The story takes off from there, and is a great romantic read that carries the reader on Lucy's journey of learning what she's looking for. Ms. Mackenzie's descriptions were rich, dialogue fun and realistic, and the story line is fabulous. If you love clean reads, you want to get this one.

I enjoyed the very British feel to this book. It made me smile and miss my very British grandparents.

I didn't really connect to the characters on a deeper level, the emotional attachment wasn't there, but I did enjoy the story. This was a fun book, clean and Happily Ever After-ish.
