Well, this is edition number 68 if that tells you anything. For a hundred years this is the textbook of seamanship. This many editions is an indication of the fact it is always updated to the newest and latest advancement in all kind of boating. It doesn't get any better than this.

From its first edition in 1917, “Chapman” remains the standard bearer in seamanship and navigation knowledge – what mariners call ‘sea sense.’ From stand-up paddle-boards to sail-powered hydrofoils and jet-powered, joystick-controlled powerboats, boating is more varied than ever. More than 100 years later, “Chapman” remains available to a new generation of sailors and power-boaters. Few books in today’s world are used with equal enthusiasm by parents, children, and grandchildren, growing with the changing technology of an age-old art and science. At the same time, few books are so authoritative that they are relied upon to set standards in a court of law. “Chapman” covers it all, from boating essentials, seamanship and safety to piloting, onboard systems, and boating customs. Don’t slip out of that berth without it.
