The Path To Self-Fulfilment

Rate this book
The Path to Self-Fulfilment seeks to uplift your inner soul and give you the necessary means to live a fulfilling life based upon both the love of Allah and the love and acceptance of the self. Happiness is crucial to being able to love Allah. How could we really display and realise our love of Allah if we spent our lives in a depressed state? This book presents essential facets of self-fulfilment and happiness: self-acceptance, self-confidence, determination, self-observation, self-improvement, and stress relief. In addition, it addresses issues that are fundamental to healthy relationships, such as effective communication and forgiveness. As the end result of implementing this knowledge, the concept of happiness is examined, with detailed suggestions for learning to trust Allah, accepting Allah’s will in our lives, and sharing our blessings.

Decent read.. again, somewhat a pertinent book. Didn't like every concept, and the idea of "self-love" makes me cringe (but maybe that's exactly why I need to implement some of these things), but there were some things that I'm really bad at which this book addresses. Especially the idea of letting go, being more accepting of my faults/shortcomings, and not being harsh with myself, tbh it does make sense that these things make it harder to have good relationships with people..

I'd recommend the book, just wouldn't praise all aspects as it is basically a self-help book with ideas from many places, some which I found agreeable and others not. I particularly liked the references to the Qur'an and Sunnah because they provide insight and guidance that human experience does not easily give. Especially relating to patience, giving, and releasing the worries of the world knowing a better place awaits those who work for it! May Allah relieve our stresses and worries and make our final abode in nearness to Him, and allow us to attain His pleasure.

Reading this book was an a dream come true because I'd always hoped and wanted to read a book like it ever since I could remember Subhna'Allah. It was given to me as a gift, and every single second I spent reading it felt precious and special Subhna'Allah. Each time I put the put down, to let the beautiful reminders and words sink in, I felt myself craving more and more. I loved how it made me reflect and think of things in different ways that I never thought of before. How it reminded and gave simple yet powerfully effective ways to change your life. To accept and appreciate and become content with things. This book is one I pray and hope if I ever write a book, I'm able to inspire like this book has inspired me In'Sha'Allah, one day <3 ~

I received this book as a gift from a beloved friend and sister while experiencing an immense trauma, and I ask Allah ﷻ to bless her immensely for doing so. The Path to Self-fulfillment will be difficult to part with—but knowing that it will provide, inshaʾAllah, the same comfort and coaxing that it gave me makes the eventual separation easier.

This book is the sister to Don’t Be Sad, the cousin of Self-Compassion, and your favorite aunt in the large family of self-help books. It is holistic and covers the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional realms when it comes to healing and moving forward. You will begin to understand not just more about yourself, but more about others and your relationship with Allah ﷻ.

If you are reading this review debating on whether you should read this book, then I can only say this: it will be your band-aid for a difficult time, your crutches to help you walk, your cast on a broken limb. But like all of these things, its strength is in allowing you to regain your strength, and giving you the ability to move forward on your own.

Great book and though I didn’t agree with everything there are some good gems in here. This book helped me a lot with the topic of forgiveness.
