I've wanted to read Brylee Parrish's story since she was left at the altar by Hutch Carmody in the second book of this series (Big Sky Mountain). She's now a businesswoman to be reckoned with as she's the head of a highly successful gift distribution company. But, she's still very much alone and in a small town, it's hard to redefine yourself when everyone remembers your wedding day that didn't happen.
Zane Sutton seemed on the surface to be an unlikely match for Brylee. He's a famous Hollywood western actor though his roots were in the rodeo circuit. What no one seems to understand is the Hollywood lifestyle doesn't fit him well and his heart is in Montana at the property he purchased years ago. When he first lays eyes on Brylee, he sees her at a vulnerable moment and gets that she's not the packaged perfection she projects to the rest of the world.
What's most interesting about this story is the romance is more in the background and the issues in Brylee and Zane's worlds are at the forefront. Surprisingly it works because we get a completely finished canvas for both of them by the time they come together. The secondary characters support them rather than distract, making this a much more interesting story.
If there was one shortcoming it would be Brylee's curious behavior near the end of the book. Her actions seemed out of character and I'm still puzzling over what it all meant. Fortunately, it was a small interlude and I quickly moved on.
I enjoyed the story and the romance as Zane is a really great guy, perfect for the wounded but proud Brylee. She makes him work for it and he rises to the occasion admirably. This is probably my most favorite of the series to date.

As a huge fan of Linda Lael Miller’s, this almost breaks my heart to write this review. I’m sad to say that Big Sky Wedding has to be my least favorite book by Ms. Miller. While I enjoyed the story, I kind of felt bored with these two characters. I felt like there was so much more to them that we didn’t get to see. I wanted to feel more of their passion, and I really didn’t get that. I will read the next book in this series, because I wouldn’t want to leave this great series unfinished in my mind.
Brylee has lived with the heartache caused by Hutch leaving her at the altar long enough. She is ready to get on with her life, but has no idea where to even begin picking up the pieces. Then she runs into the handsome Zane Sutton, but he totally rubs her the wrong way. She thinks he is just another Hollywood actor coming to pretend he is a rancher.
Zane is instantly attracted to Brylee, but he has to get her to see that he isn’t what she thinks he is. He is truly a country boy at heart. But she has walls he will have to destroy first. He is also surprised to end up the guardian of his younger half-brother, because his loser dad can’t be bothered with him any longer. He takes on the challenges of this youngster and Brylee head on though. Can his heard headedness lead them to the HEA they all deserve??

While I enjoyed the story, I kind of felt bored with these two characters. I felt like there was so much more to them that we didn’t get to see. This book is awful, don't waste your time!
LLM formula:
Rich hot cowboy with a heart of gold...check
Woman who has a great life that needs a man to complete it...check
Child who desperately needs a family...check
Stray dog who needs a permanent home...check
Sassy black house keeper who knows it all...check
This is the 5th book in the Big Sky series. Brylee has shown up in the other books as a peripheral character, and she is almost that in her own book. We get a whole lot of what is going on with Walker and Casey and their kids, because they all run to Brylee all the time, for everything. Clair, the daughter is a hopelessly self centered brat! Walker and Casey just had Preston, their third baby and we find out Casey is pregnant again. Every word Casey utters, LLM has to remind us how Casey is a singer, comes out so musically...she just can't help how perfect she is. Why am a writing so much about Casey and Walker and their family, because they take up a lot of room in the book!
Of course there is also all of the time spent feeding and caring for horses, feeding and carrying for dogs, feeding and carrying for people...oh and the plug for Wrangler jeans!
LLM tries so desperately to write her books as folksy and charming, using cute words like critters when talking endlessly about everyone's dog, or varmints when the animal has an attitude. And for some reason it is really important to include multiple passages about washing your hands before every meal. Oh and make sure her readers, who are obviously idiots, know when she is going to use a turn of phrase by preceding it with "cliched", "figuratively", or "proverbial".
By page 220 our two main characters, Zane and Brylee have barely spoken to each other. Then they kiss, and she runs away in a hissy, so he cancels their plans for the next day, but 48 hours after the kiss they are getting horizontal. But then Brylee regrets it, so Zane declares his love and demands six months for a regular dating, getting to know each other, no sex relationship. Do we get that six months? Nope!! We get a six months later epilogue and they are walking down the isle. I give nothing away here, "wedding" is in the freaking title! Fifteen chapters of nothing followed by two hurried chapters of happy ending.
Since two completely pointless characters were introduced and all sorts of half formed ideas were floated about them, I'm guessing they are the focus of Big Sky Secrets.
Awful book, waste of time, don't be fooled, LLM is not worth your time or money.

I was so excited for this book--it's the fifth in Linda Lael Miller's Parable, Montana series--because it's finally Brylee Parrish's story. We met Brylee in earlier books--she was left at the altar by Hutch Carmody, the main character in Big Sky Mountain ; however, I was underwhelmed by this story and would give it 3.5 stars.
Brylee has built up a successful, nationwide business, but she keeps finding herself unwilling to open herself up to love again after being left and humiliated at the altar by Hutch Carmody. One day she is wandering the land, trying to better herself by communing with nature--and hugging a tree--when she is found by heartthrob movie star Zane Sutton who has moved into the ranch next door. They keep running into each other around town, and things progress from there.
My issue with this book was one that happens with quite a few contemporary romances--the two main characters meet each other, have two or three (short) conversations, have sex, and then are magically in love. There is no buildup to the relationship, no emotional connection, it just happens. Not my cup o' tea--the relationship is just not believable.
I really liked the side plot with Zane and his younger half-brother Nash, and especially loved Cleo, his very efficient, meddling (and fearsome) housekeeper from LA.

We all have comfort authors. You know what I mean, those authors you run to when you're really having a bad day or you've read book after book you didn't like and find yourself not able to read anything.
You get it now, right? Well Linda Lael Miller is one of my comfort authors. I read her when I get burnt out and can't get into anything, even authors I normally love.
Of course because of that fact I get way behind on her. I don't mean too, it just happens. I'm always afraid that she won't be there when I need her. Ha! Okay, I'm blowing smoke here a little. I really could read her more and should. But fear of needing her holds me back.
I think anyone who read this series was waiting for this book. We all wanted to see Brylee get her happy ending. Don't get me wrong, I get why her and Hutch didn't work but that doesn't mean that it didn't break my heart when he ended in the way he did.
He was a totally jerk to her. I also got why it took her so long to get over it and trust again. Her heart was waiting for the right guy. She finally found him in Zane Sutton.
Oh Zane! You've got to love him. Set aside the acting part that draws most people, there is just something about him, a sweetness inside. I'm sure he'd hate hearing me refer to him as sweet, but he was. He really cared about those around him. When his much younger brother needed him he was there for him without question. Even without knowing him.
Stepping up and taking care of Nash makes him even more likable. For me there is just something about a man that's willing to take care of young children. Now don't get me wrong Nash isn't a little kid, just a brother who needs structure.
I think that's one of the things that both attracted Brylee and caused her to start trusting Zane. I think she saw the man underneath and realized he meant what he said. You can only be gun shy for so long if you are going to live your life.
Brylee finally got that when she fell for Zane.
I really enjoyed Big Sky Wedding and loved the story. It's was perfect for Brylee and for me! It ties up everything that started in the beginning between her and Hutch and the fact she wasn't really living her life.
The Parable, Montana series has been wonderful so far and I've really enjoyed it. I would read them in order only because of the fact that you want things to happen when they should so you can get the full picture.

I am a huge fan of Linda Lael Miller and the Parable, Montana series. Unfortunately, Big Sky Wedding was just okay for me. I didn't love it, but wouldn't say it's a bad read. It was just not one of those books that wouldn't have made me can't wait for the next one to come out. That being said since the series already has me hooked and this book was not terrible it also won't stop me from continuing on in this series.
I really liked Zane. He was a good man who just happened to be a famous actor. Unfortunately, that was all it took for Brylee to take an instant dislike to him. I can't say that I didn't like Brylee exactly. I get why she was gun shy. After all, being left literally at the altar would be enough to make any girl a little weary. She was just not a character that stuck with you. Their romance came across as words on a page rather than a true "can't live without you" connection.
This book did provide us with a few sub-characters that I found terribly amusing and interesting. The housekeeper made me laugh out loud. I loved how she didn't care that Zane was rich and famous (he did not act like he was rich and famous at all, by the way), but told it like it was.
I feel like there was a lot of missed opportunities where Zane's brothers were concerned. I mean there was the barely a teenager brother who was raised (and I use that term loosely in this case) by their good-for-nothing father and his other (equally as wealthy, but very angry and distant) brother Landry. Both of these characters screamed for more background and character development. I know Landry gets his own story in Big Sky Secrets, so maybe the plan is to keep him a mystery until then. But, I feel like there was too much left out there for this book to be a success.
I'll crossing my fingers that it'll be worth it in the next book.

I usually love LLMiller's books, but this one was pretty ho-hum to me. Just didn't feel the love and didn't really like the characters all that much. The only one I really cared about was Nash!

I have not read any of the previous books in this series and from reading this one I don't want to. I'd give this negative stars if I could it drove me nuts. This is the biggest book of cliches ever, it reads almost like a cheap hallmark movie, which are fairy tales presented in poor disguise of what they think real life is/should be. (Mostly that a woman can't be happy without a man and/or children). Full of redundancy and contradictions all of the characters need therapy and there is no way this would ever even remotely happen in real life. All of them are presented as perfect, gorgeous and rich.
The main MMC Zane is a caveman who thinks he knows more of the world then he does covered in a vainer of a rodeo man turned instant heart throb movie star that is supposed to make him instantly likable and perfect. He had a crappy childhood and came out on top but now he just wants to get away so he moves out to a ranch house he bought a while back and proceeds to turn it into a million dollar retreat. Our MFC Brylee is a bipolar, no self-esteem, judgmental snap to unfounded conclusions hippie cowgirl who is supposed to be a sweet little country girl. She should be happy that she is smart, has a good family and a million dollar business but she can't get over the fact that she is a spinster (at around 30) who will never have a husband and kids and love! Oh woe is me!
Zane meets Brylee and it'slust I mean love at first sight. In a matter of 4-5 days they barely interact and believe they are soulmates while bemoaning that they will be alone (a childless) forever (this takes up almost the entire book!) until they just fall into bed for lots of the greatest sex in the world one night. Then cut to the last chapter and it's 6 months later at their perfect wedding! The End.

My review:
I love a good contemporary western and Linda Lael Miller is really good at bringing it alive with the decent plot and characters to die for. It is a second book of hers that I read. The first one was from the same series - Parable, Montana - Big Sky Summer and when I got the chance to review Big Sky Wedding I had no doubts that I wanted to read it. I fell in love with the surroundings and characters of Parable and I was glad to meet them again in Big Sky Wedding.
Plot:
All the books in the series are standalone books where different couples are the main characters. Big Sky Wedding gives you the story of Brylee and Zane. I met Brylee and many other characters already in Big Sky Summer.
Anyway, Brylee has experienced something that no woman ever should - she was jilted while walking down on the isle for getting married. Even though she understood, that it was a right thing for her in long term, it broke her heart and she lived in humiliation for quite some time. Now, being an owner of a big company, she keeps her heart safe from men and focuses on her company. That is until Zane shows up.
Zane is an A-list Hollywood player and has come back to his roots, at least for a while. Neither Brylee nor Zane are looking for love, but it just happens. The attraction between them is too strong to avoid and when Zane realizes that Brylee is not just a woman, but the woman, he is going after what he wants - Brylee.
It is a love story, but besides that, there are other great things about this book - the dialogue was captivating and witty and I got a lot of giggles while reading. I truly enjoyed all the characters in the story and the Parable itself. The author gives you quite bright and vivid pictures of Parable, so it's impossible not to want visiting the place and experiencing it in person!
Characters:

Family ties play a big role in the book and it influences almost all the characters either they want it or not. And community is another big influencer in Parable. It is tight-knitted society where almost everybody knows everyone and when it matters, they are there for you to help and support. I loved that!
I liked Brylee already in the previous book where her background story was mentioned and I was excited to see what the author had to offer to Brylee. It is mortifying and humiliating to be left in front of the family and whole Parable just few minutes before getting married, so Brylee had to struggle to get over the humiliation. It takes a very strong person to have faith and trust in love after that. So she has hidden her heart away. Little did she know when Zane came into the picture. I was happy to see, how she step by step gave herself a chance. She definitely deserved a happy ending.
Zane comes from a family with no means and he understands the value of the family.I loved how he took in his brother, knowing, that family matters and that family is exactly what Nash needs. I also admired Zane's persistence in his relationship with Brylee. Loved the relationship dynamics and how Zane proved, that he truly loves her.
I think Linda Lael Miller does a great work with all the other characters in the book. She gives them their own stories and you keep wondering which ones of them will be the main characters in the upcoming books. There are many supportive characters whom you start caring for while reading - Nash, Cleo, Opal just to name the few. This is what adds a lot of value to Miller's books - all these interesting and very real people whom you meet while reading.

If you like a good romance with great characters, then this book is definitely for you! If you love stories about families and family ties, this book is definitely for you! If you like happy endings, this book is definitely for you.

Very good book. I've been waiting for Brylee to get her own story since Hutch left her at the altar in Big Sky Mountain. Originally she seemed pretty spoiled, but in the books since then she's done some growing up. She's turned her business into a huge success and continues to be a loving presence in her family's life. I really liked seeing how great she was with her niece Clare. There is a wonderfully emotional scene with her brother Walker when she explains to him why Clare wants to go along on a rodeo trip with him and her brother. She has finally admitted to herself that it's time to get over the past and move on. She's lonely and wants a family of her own. It's at this point that Zane Sutton returns to the ranch he and his brother bought a few years earlier. The attraction between them is immediate and hot, but Brylee is pretty wary around him. There have been a lot of Hollywood people who have bought land in Montana, visited once in awhile or lived there for a short time, then gotten bored and moved on. She doesn't want to get involved and then get left again. She starts out judging him pretty harshly, but as she has the chance to spend time with him realizes that he's not what she had expected. When the white hot attraction between them gets too hard to resist they give in to it. Then Brylee panics and starts thinking about leaving town for awhile before she talks herself out of it. She admits to herself that she's in love with him already, but she's afraid to take the chance. I loved what he said to her when he came to see her that relieved her fears.
I loved Zane. He had been a successful rodeo cowboy when he got sucked into acting and became a star. He's had enough of that lifestyle and has come to his ranch in Montana to start a new life. Shortly after he arrives he meets Brylee in the woods between their properties. He feels like he's been struck by lightning but she can't get away from him fast enough. His house is in pretty bad shape and he's just starting to get a handle on what he wants to do with it when his brother Landry calls. Their father has dumped their 12 year old half brother on him and he's getting ready to leave the country for a meeting. Can he send Nash to Zane? It's him or foster care, so Zane says yes. I liked the way he stepped right up to take care of Nash. He could see the pain the boy was in at the way he's treated by his father and the pride that won't let him complain. Zane was terrific at making sure Nash knew that he was wanted and welcome. Besides dealing with Nash he also had his housekeeper Cleo show up and take over the care of the house and getting the renovations started. This freed up Zane to try to get closer to Brylee. I really liked the way that he kept going back to Brylee, trying to win her over. When they had their big passion filled moment he understood what her reaction was going to be the next day. I loved the way that he went to her, told her his feelings, and what his intentions were for the future. It was exactly what she needed to feel secure. The epilogue was fantastic, especially the dance with Hutch.
There were some really funny moments, especially once Cleo made her appearance. I loved the way she fussed and fumed at Zane. There were also some really emotional times, such as when Zane realized just how badly Nash had been treated by their father. I also loved seeing Clare's teenage melodramatics as she would describe her woes to her Aunt Brylee.

2.5 stars from me
Smack in the middle of a series - this is after all, Book #5 in the Parable, Montana lineup. I didn't read the earlier books, except for #4, and thus Big Sky Wedding didn't feel so much like being parachuted into an unknown society where you should be abreast of Who's Who. I was less lost this time, but I still caught myself a few times going, Huh? when someone was mentioned.
And yes, it's a long book, slightly longer than the regular MIRA books. It reads quite easily; Ms Miller writes with a flowing prose that features a lot of details (if you tend to skim details and descriptions, this one's not for you!). Her worldbuilding is fabulous, though, and you really feel like you're in the town right there with the characters.
And speaking of... I'd been looking forward to Brylee's story. I mean, jilted at the altar - the poor girl deserved a hero and a HEA! So it's with relish that I dug into this book. Sadly, Brylee failed to impress me. She had seemed surly in Book #4, Big Sky Summer, but hey, she'd been jilted, so of course she was entitled to be bitter and such. But in her own story? A lot of her reactions and positions in life I couldn't understand; like, I know where she comes from, but does that warrant such a stance? For example, her insta-hate for Zane came out of the blue, and a few times I even asked myself why Zane would bother with her. She makes him jump through hoops throughout the story. I can understand fear of being burnt only too well, but Brylee took this one level too high and thus came across as a heroine that, though you don't hate, you cannot really sympathize with, either.
Zane, like I said above - I wondered why he bothered. Yes, he loved Brylee, but still...
This romance was a bit of a hard sell for me, and I couldn't get into the love story, which in turn kept me from getting into the book and the whole ongoing town-plotline.
I wouldn't say I don't recommend this book, but it's not one I can give glowing accolades to. It will take a very patient person to 'accept' Brylee as she is and think she deserves a happy ending with a wonderful man like Zane.

Big Sky Wedding is the story of Brylee Parrish and cowboy movie star Zane Sutton. In one of Miller’s previous Parable books, Brylee was dumped by Hutch Carmody (Big Sky Mountain), so she is kind of wary of relationships. Zane was a rodeo champion who became a movie star and has worked with Brylee’s sister-in-law, Casey. Years earlier Zane and his brother, Landry, decided to buy a ranch in Parable. Zane has grown tired of the Hollywood life and never really felt as though he belonged there, so he finally decides to move to the ranch. Brylee immediately hates him upon meeting him because she thinks he is just another rich, selfish, Hollywood star who will quickly grow tired of the area and leave. She is also an environmentalist who is afraid that he will destroy the land.
This book wasn’t great, but there were things about it that I did enjoy. It took me awhile to warm up to Brylee in this one. I didn’t like the way that she judged Zane and always thought the worst of him. Zane was immediately likable. I very much enjoyed his mother-son type relationship with his housekeeper, Cleo. I also liked how he treated his young brother, Nash, who became his responsibility after their father left Nash with Landry who then sent Nash to Zane. I was annoyed at Landry, but I assume that we will find out why he was being somewhat of a jerk in the next book. As the novel moved along and Brylee began to realize how unfair she was, I did start to like her character again. Overall, this was a nice, sweet romance; but, I found myself more interested in the other relationships than the romantic relationship between Brylee and Zane.

It all started with a broken heart, a burned out star and the blue skies of Montana.Brylee is still stinging after being stood-up at the alter. Her heart is covered in scar tissue and she has no desire to try to make it better. Her work has become everything in her life. She avoids friends, works long hours, and hardly rides anymore. She takes on some comfort lessons and is caught red handed by one Zane Sutton, movie star and ex rodeo cowboy. There is much blushing, some testy words and perhaps a bit of lusty feelings between the two. Brylee finds herself on uncomfortable ground.Zane Sutton, the super sexy, movie star, divorced, ex rodeo cowboy has moved to the dilapidated ranch he and his brother bought. He's looking for some time away from Hollywood and all the glamor. He wants some time with his horse and the great blue sky in this country. While out looking at his land he see's something strange. His neighbor is on his property and she's. What ??? He finds the fun in this new woman, she is feisty, beautiful and treats him like a man not a star. She feels something she hasn't felt in a long while, interest.The two of them make for an exciting fun read, they are not the sweet predictable pairing, these two have scars to wrangle through. There are also adorable animals, troubled teens and nosey good intentioned neighbors. I loved this addition to the series Ms. Miller never fails to leave me wanting more.

In the early Parable books by Ms Miller, Hutch Carmody literally leaves Brylee Parrish standing in the church on the wedding day. Hutch finally gets his girl with his long lost love Kendra, but Brylee is still hurting. She built a home decor company from the ground up and has more money than she knows what to do with, but will she ever find the love she seeks?
Zane Sutton, former rodeo star and actor, wants away from big city lights and back to basics. With his half brother Nash and hilarious housekeeper Cleo, they set about renovating the ranch house at Hangmans Bend, the ranch Zane and his brother Landry purchased on a whim near Three Trees, Montana..a hop skip and junk from Parable.
I really enjoyed this book, but I had a major issue. That is.. it felt like Zane and Brylee met three or four times before he storms into her office expressing his love for her. Then we get a six months later: beautiful wedding. I seriously feel like we didn't get a full story. I'm hanging. Three or four times they see each other.. he claims his love, she tells him she loves him back.. we are going to date for six months and see what happens.. then the epilogue. -sigh-

I did not realize this book was part of a series until after I read it. I think that is a complement to the author.
The beginning of the book seemed to move at a slow steady pace. Towards the end I felt like Brylee had two personalities - she couldn't decide if she wanted to be with Zane or not - that part was like whip lash for me. The end all of a sudden wrapped up.
Zane really took care of Nash, the way his mother had taken care of him. It was nice to see a male character nurture another male. You usually read about the female character stepping in and taking care of siblings. I also liked that Zane corrected Nash's language when he used foul words.
The love scenes at the end of the book could have been left out and the story would have been the same ( or better ). It didn't add anything for me, so I skimmed over that part.

I've never given a Miller book 2 stars, but this book just wasn't up to snuff. Miller forced herself into a corner, having to tie up so many of her dropped threads from other books in the series that she couldn't devote herself to the threads in this one. As a result, the zing lost its swing.
Characters that were interesting in former books fell flat in this one. Brylee went from feisty, successful entrepreneur to wimpy dumb blonde.
This book had elements that made me wonder if it had been an old story shoved in a drawer that was dusted off to finish the Parable et al saga. At least I hope it's finished.
As an aside, why would a 2013 middle schooler name his horse after a mythical creature from an early 80's series? That put paid to the whole set up for me.
So, I will be much more leery about tossing the next Miller book in my basket, which makes me sad.

Brylee Parrish hasn't enjoyed the sound of wedding bells since being jilted at the altar by Hutch Carmody. She's over Hutch now, and running a multimillion-dollar business is challenging enough for this country gal. So she should avoid falling head-over-boot-heels for actor Zane Sutton. I really enjoy reading a book where you know all the characters and their story. The primary charaters in other books, are now secondary. But its so nice to know everyone. It makes for a 'homey' read. 5 stars!

Big Sky Wedding is another sweetly romantic installment in Linda Lael Miller’s charming Parable, Montana series. More than just a romance, this engaging story is a wonderful story of new beginnings for Zane Sutton and his younger half-brother Nash. It is also the long-awaited romance for Brylee Parrish, who was unceremoniously dumped at the altar by Hutch Carmody in Big Sky Mountain.

Brylee Parrish has been hiding from life since her disastrous non-wedding but her new neighbor Zane Sutton has her thinking maybe her thinking maybe it's time to start living again. Great story. Definitely a recommended read as are all the books in this series.

For a romance, I didn't feel that the connection and well, romance, between Zane and Brylee was developed all that much. More time was spent on the individuals and not so much the couple. I usually love Ms Miller's work, but this one let me down.

Das Buch war für mich entspannend. Es war nicht aufregend und ich fand es auch nicht wirklich interessant, aber es war halt ... mir fällt kein anderes Wort dazu ein ... entspannend. Ihr wisst schon, was ich meine. Sympathische Personen, schönes Setting, Pferde, Familienleben und Hunde. Man reitet aus, trifft die Nachbarn, schaut den Wolken zu - Etwas in der Art.
Der Held ist hier ein Filmstar, der keiner mehr sein will und sich wieder nach dem Landleben sehnt und sie ist eine erfolgreiche Geschäftsfrau, die mal vor dem Altar sitzengelassen wurde und seither eher zurückgezogen ist. Wirklich überraschend gut war, dass hier die Charaktere mehr Hintergrund hatten, als in den ganzen letzten Romanen, die ich gelesen habe und sie haben Probleme außerhalb der gegenseitigen Anziehungskraft. So hat der Held der Geschichte einen 12jährigen Halbbruder, der ihm aufgenötigt wird und unsere Protagonistin ist die Ansprechpartnerin ihrer Nichte, die gerade zur Frau wird mit allen Problemen die dazugehören.
Das Setting ist wundervoll. Wir pendeln den Großteil zwischen zwei Ranches und genießen die Weite von Montana. Für mich war das ein bisschen wie Urlaub. Nur leider halt nicht so spannend, dass meine Gedanken nicht immer mal wieder abgewandert wären.
Obwohl sympathisch und mit Hintergrundstory versehen, waren die Charaktere nicht so, dass ich sie wirklich ins Herz geschlossen habe, also nicht so sehr wie Charaktere anderer Bücher. Ich werde sicher wieder zu der Reihe greifen, denn ich hatte eine gut Zeit. Hatte ich erwähnt dass dies Teil 5 der 'Big Sky Reihe' ist? Nein, gut, dann wisst ihr es jetzt. Ich habe die anderen Bände nicht gelesen, aber ich hatte als Quereinsteiger keinerlei Probleme. Es liest sich wie ein Einzelband.
Ihr müsst bei diesem Buch keine Angst haben, dass es besonders dramalastig ist. Alles was belastend wäre, ist längst passiert im Leben der Protagonisten und jetzt wird für alle Probleme das Happy End gesucht.
Wer also Lust hat zu entspannen und so wie ich eine Vorliebe für die Weite von Montana, dem Ranchleben und Ruhe hat, sollte sich die Reihe mal ansehen.

Brylee Parrish is a very successful businesswoman who can't get over being left at the altar several years before. When actor/rodeo rider Zane Sutton decides to leave Hollywood for his dilapidated ranch next door, there are instant sparks between the two.
I've read the rest of the series previous to this book and I was curious to see what happens with Brylee. I could sympathize with her to some degree when Hutch Carmody called off the wedding when she was walking down the aisle and thought she deserved her own HEA. That was the only reason to read this as I didn't care for the previous book - the whole hiding the father thing for fifteen years just seemed ridiculous and didn't cast either Casey or Walker in a good light. I was hoping this would be better, and it was but just slightly. Brylee and Zane have very little time together in the story so the ending stretched the bounds of credulity (the epilogue sort of made up for it, but it seemed weak). These two people never really talked to each other at all. The supplementary characters are interesting but underused. The younger half-brother has all sorts of issues and worries that are never really resolved until tied in a neat bow during the epilogue. I did like Casey, Walker, and the rest of their family better now that they're not lying about everything. I give this book 3 1/2 stars.

August 21, 2020Oh where to begin... I've read a historical romance by this author and really liked it. Modern romances are definitely not as interesting to me. Keeping that in mind, I'm sure others will not share my same likes and dislikes and that's OK!
Likes: Nash. I freakin' loved that kid. His story made you root for him like crazy.
Claire and the rodeo storyline.
Meh stuff: The language. Sometimes, love-making language is awkward. Again, this is subjective! But the word "feasting" used in the context of oral sex is cringe-worthy!
The romance was OK, it didn't feel super believable to me and felt rushed toward the end. This is another personal thing though -- I like slow-burning romances more than "know you for five minutes" romances.

Then his young Brother Nash comes to live with him brings up all the bad memories of his dad. His older brother Landry comes for a visit too to check out cowboy living. While out riding his horse he Mets his neighbor Brylee, Walkers sister, she was left at the alter by Hutch, something hard to live down in a small town. She runs a decor company. Self made independent women. Zane falls first time he sees her. She is hesitant. But in the end she gives into him and they get married, Nash stays with them.

Seems obvious that the wedding of the title will be Brylee’s though Casey and Parrish will be in need of a housekeeper if they are to survive missing culinary skills. Hopefully this event will not be aborted as was her last trip up the aisle. As we learned last outing Opal is no longer available to step into the breach.
Brylee’s love interest is the handsome movie star who has moved in next door with his beautiful horse, his young half brother, Nash, and Cleo, his force of nature housekeeper. Out riding Zane meets Ria making way for his full brother, Landry, to find romance in book 5.
In true romance lore the men are magnetically handsome and the woman goddesses and given the title it ends with a wedding and a bedding.
