The ultra handsome beta of Novogrod pack, Maxim Ciolek is taking a much needed vacation on Mystic Isle when a beautiful but shy vampiress catches his eye. She deserves more than a one night stand and because that’s all he can offer her, he vows to leave her alone.
Ceara Blackwell is eager to leave her sheltered life behind and start knocking items off her bucket list. Item one: a first kiss. But as mysterious Maxim works his way into her heart, she wonders if she's found a forever-kind-of-love.
An action movie buff with a penchant for all things supernatural and sexy, Selena Blake combines her love for adventure, travel and romance into steamy paranormal romance. Selena’s books have been called “a steamy escape” and have appeared on bestseller lists, been nominated for awards, and won contests. When she’s not writing you can find her by the pool soaking up some sun, day dreaming about new characters, and watching the cabana boy (aka her muse), Derek. I really do like this series. It's pretty much light and fluffy with a nice romance that may not go smoothly but you know it will work out in the end. You get just what you need from this book and the others because you just want to be taken away for a while and this does that perfectly. The characters are who they need to be and you don't need to go super deep because they give you enough. The location is exotic but could be almost any Island paradise you can imagine so it almost tailors to the individual.
Maxim is on vacation from the rigors of being beta to a pack he helped build. He has always had a hard time relaxing but this place seems to be working. Ceara is a young vampire, full blood, who is at Mystic Isle for the solstice but has a bucket list she would love work on. When Maxim sees the young vamp he is enchanted and wants to meet her, and he gets his chance when she is approached by a demon who scares her. Maxim knows right away that she deserves better than him but cannot help wanting to spend what time he can with her.
Ceara falls fast for the werewolf who rescues her and just wants him to be the one. After being cloistered for so long she just wants to break out and enjoy herself if possible. Maxim could do that for her or he could cause her true heartache.
It kind of bugged me that the spelling of Ceara name changed from time to time. Other than that I found everything to be great. Look for that HEA for Ceara and Max.
Wow!! That is what I'm talking about!! This is what I want to read when I read an erotic romance, lol. This is the second book in the Mystic Isle series, but the novellas are stand alone so you're not missing anything if you read out of sequence. Tho I am DEFINITELY going to go back and read the first one is this series. I also wouldn't mind taking a little vacation to the Mystic Isle myself, sounds amazing and tons of fun, lol. If you like short and sweet, or should I say short and steamy, this is the book for you. Tho it's not just about the steaminess, it has a good story too, so it was a really great read. I highly recommend it.
I thought Grayson West was awesomely sexy and totally drool-worthy in Fangs, Fur & Mistletoe. I should have known from previous experience that Selena Blake’s books only get better and HOTTER as a series evolves and her male characters are always to die for. In A Werewolf to Call Her Own; Maxim Ciolek will have you wanting to climb within the pages and devour him whole! He is gorgeous, sexy and honourable to a fault, while hiding his slightly dark and broody side. Ms Blake provides everything that erotic romance readers want in their paranormal stories! Don’t miss a single book in this series, it’s AWESOME!!!
oh my God?? where have I been all this time?? this is probably THE BEST werewolf romance I've ever read. and a werewolf/vampiress at that! it's thoroughly sweet, seductive, endearing (I got teary-eyed at some point!), and of course STEAMY AF. despite the shortness, the characters' building and development are excellent! it doesn't feel rushed at all! Maxim and Ceara are both very likeable characters as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO READ!
The second book in the mystic isle series maxim and Ceara are great. Well matched. They are each other's other half. Even when they thought they couldn't be together.
As the sequel to Fangs, Fur & Mistletoe, Selena Blake's A Werewolf to Call Her Own, continues on with the adventures of the paranormal retreat, Mystic Isle. Through out the second book, readers dive more in depth with the coven of women that were first introduced to in Fangs, Fur & Mistletoe. As the story of Ceara Blackwell is revealed about this shy vampire shows readers how the possibility of a one night stand can take theirs hearts for a dive with the dolphins.
Ceara has been sheltered and isolated for most of her life, and while she's at Mystic Isle she plans to escape that life. Nervous around others and wants to check the first thing off of her to do list: be kissed. And with the death of her parents several years ago by a demon, Ceara is terrified by them. But, when Maxim Ciolek, spots Ceara he knew there was something special about her. He became her prince charming, saving her when she was distressed and an instant attraction occurred. With growing responsibilities as the beta of his pack Maxim has a lot of expectations from others. But, one perfect night of talking and adventure changes both of their lives. However, the question rises about whether Maxim will help Ceara check everything off on her list or leave her?
Even though A Werewolf to Call Her Own is considered a Novella, it's still a longer winded one. With good character depth, and a great plot line, Selena Blake pulls at the reader's heart strings within the last thirty pages and pulls off another great book with Ceara and Maxim's story. Vampire and Werewolf lovers will fall in love the Mystic Isle series, and A Werewolf to Call Her Own will capture their hearts with cases of misspelling names, misunderstandings, and a bite.
Just released last week (February 28), this book is wonderful for an individual that would like to read a short novella. If your interested in A Werewolf to Call Her Own there is no requirement to read the first book Fangs, Fur & Mistletoe if you don't want to, though I recommend it. The third book, Games Demons Play, in the Mystic Isle series is due out at the end of April, and is the story of Izzy and her love interest. But get A Werewolf to Call Her Own while it's still hot, and on sale!
What would you say if a handsome sexy alpha male put things on his bucket list that he normally wouldn’t do just so he could help you cross the task off your list and see you smile. That is what made this reader fall in love with Maxim. How could you not love a man that would do that? A man who would build sandcastles with you. Maxim is protective yet caring. Ceara is young and for the first time truly learning how to experience life. These were two great characters.
A Werewolf of Her Own is a sweet tender romance between a baby vamp and a responsibility challenged werewolf. They are perfect for each other. I loved the banter between them and seeing their relationship blossom. But can they get past the hurdles in their way? The misunderstandings? Fate has a way of making things right in the end, allowing a baby vamp to find a werewolf of her own.
Another steamy romance in a very smexy new series!
I really enjoyed Ceara and Maxim’s story, however there were a couple things that bothered me. One was the whole confusion with the spelling of Ceara’s name. The problem wasn’t the confusion, but that for me, the reader, it was more confusing than to Maxim.
Secondly, it bothered me how much both Maxim and Ceara don’t know about their races ability to relate to each other. I understand that the Vamps and Werewolves have been enemies for a long time, but the war has been over for a century, that’s enough time to know these things.
Despite that, A Werewolf to Call Her Own, was a very short and hot read. I am definitely looking forward to more stories in the Mystic Isle series!
What a very sweet story this was.....love Ceara & Maxim!!! Plenty of hot love scenes in this one. There was a bit of angst towards the end that had me worried they would stay apart, but knew they couldn't say away from each other. Loved the one line in this book that went like this....She sighed, unable to tell where she began and he ended. So, now when they have babies, they'll have her fangs and his fur!!! Can't wait for the naxt book about Izzy this time~~~
Ceara who is a shy innocent type young vampiress and who finds herself drawn to the wolf named Maxim and who is at Mystic Isles and on vacation to scratch an itch in his sexual desires but he finds much more than he bargains for he finds his mate but who is his mate and will it be Ceara the one whom her species is fighting or may once again be at war with the wolves or can they find peace together
This series just keeps getting better and better. Maxim (love that name!) the alpha werewolf & Ceara the shy vamp story. When Maxim put things on his bucket list that he would not do just to see Ceara smile. It made me smile too. This was one hot book (just like the 1st in the series) and can't wait to read the 3rd and 4th books.
Oh, this series just keeps getting better and better! A great little read with lots of HEAT! I love werewolves and really love big, sexy ones like Maxim. I really see a lot of stories coming out of this new series... YUM, Yum!
I loved this story. I couldn't put it down. I was so engaged with the characters. I was really pulling for them and having my heart break with them. Silly Max i wasn't sure he was going to figure it all out.
I can't for the next book. JUst like the first book, I didn't want to put this one down. Who doesn't want to read about a sexy werewolf? Grab these if you haven't, you won't be disappointed.
