Honestly, this series just keeps getting better and better!
It's pretty rare to stumble across a book which is the perfect size (which this just happens to be), full of wonderful stories that make you think, move you beyond words, and make you smile on a train journey. Well, this book ticks all three boxes.
Some of these stories are quirky little sketches (see After a hard day's make-believe, Just a bad hair day and Excuse me) while others are deeply affecting and tug on the heartstrings (see All those words, The giant bent down, I want desperately and The mountain) which are stories that stay with you for a while afterwards. Finally, there are thought-provoking sketches (see It's beautiful, Her father's father, Monuments make and Everything has) which are mini commentaries on society. They change the way we perceive our world, our neighbours, the fleeting people we encounter in the streets.
This is a collection which has to be savoured in order to be fully appreciated, and while it is a thin book and can easily be read in one sitting, the best thing you can do is read a handful of stories a day. This book is a like a journey into some of our fears, our hopes, dreams and wishes and you cannot overindulge in them otherwise the magic quickly wears off.
If you invest in this gem of a book, you will be greatly rewarded, not only because of the tiny stories themselves but because they are accompanied with some beautiful artwork.
All that's left to say is to go find this book, hunt it down if you have to and add it to your collection, your bookcase will love you forever if you do.
