لا يجب أن يكون النفس طيبًا ومسالمًا إلى حد السذاجة، أن تؤمن بالخير في الآخرين يلزمه اتقاء شرهم أيضًا .. ربما بحكم نشأته وحيدًا بلا موجّه أو مرضه أو مرافقته للأطفال لم يدرك أن المجتمع يطالبه بأكثر مما لديه، فكان فريسة سهلة لنزوات الشر لدى الآخرين.. عمومًا البطل مثير للتعاطف حد الاشمئزاز.
