I feel like I am in the minority but I didn't like it as much as the first two books. It really didn't need to be a trilogy.... I was a bit bored in the middle of the book. It was ok.

Now that is exactly what erotica at its finest should be!!!
When book 2, Shadows of Pearl ended, I was left with my jaw to the floor thinking NO, that just did not happen! I knew I'd be going CRAZY waiting for book 3, Shimmers of Pearl. I knew it was going to be released, and then got a HUGE surprise because it was actually released early. Of course, I put all the other books I was planning to read aside, and jumped right into Shimmers of Pearl. I just had to know what was going to happen next.
This book takes place exactly where Shadows of Pearl left off. Once again I was hooked into the story. Arianne Richmonde did a wonderful job, not with just the story and characters but also with her skillfully crafted descriptive writing. The whole Pearl Trilogy has simply captivated me.
This book also wrapped up a lot of questions I had at the end of Shadows of Pearl and the answers were not what I expected, making the story even more interesting. I was pleasantly surprised at the turn of events.
Shimmers of Pearl is what a true erotic book should be, great story line, wonderful characters, and some of the HOTTEST sex/love scenes I've read in a while. This is where the author’s writing shines. I could really feel the attraction and desire that Pearl and Alexandre had for each other. Their chemistry was amazing and their need for each other leapt off the pages.
This FANTASTIC read concluded Arianne Richmonde's Pearl Trilogy. I'm so glad that I was offered this series to review. So THANK YOU Arianne for offering me the opportunity to read this EXCELLLENT series. I have found myself another must read author and can hardly wait to read Arianne's next book and see what she has in store for her fans!
** A copy of this book was kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**
So disappointed in this! Such potential to be a great story, but this felt rushed and trite Seems Richmonde just wanted to hurry and strike while the iron is hot for an overpriced, contrived story that wasn't true to the characters. Am BAFFLED by the five-star ratings here. If you haven't read this yet, stick with your imagination. It'll be far better than what's written!
I was fortunate enough to proofread this book. Shimmers is the perfect ending to the Pearl Trilogy. Packed with tragedy, love, and resolution. For those of you who enjoyed the first two books, you'll be rewarded with this one.
Let me start by saying I loved the first book. The character of Pearl moved me like no other protagonist has ever done before. Book 2 had me screaming and stamping at the ending which had me dying for the next installment. This book (book 3) tied all the loose endings up and allowed me to put Pearl and her Frenchmen into Happy Ever After Literary Land.
In all honesty this book did not grab me or captivate me as the first two did and it is perhaps my least favorite of the trilogy. (i am wavering between 3 1/2 and 4 stars) I think this is perhaps the curse of a book that's role is to conclude and resolve. However, in saying this I am glad that the story was about finding peace, contentment, resolution and honesty. I needed Pearl to get her HEA. I needed Pearl to believe in love. I needed Pearl to trust. She didn't let me down.
There are two things that stand out for me.....
Firstly, I really enjoy Arianne's writing style. Her words captivated, impacted and inspired me. When I grow up i want to be just like Arianne! Secondly, I loved the fact the trilogy was based on a 40 year old woman......I feel slightly uncomfortable reading about sexual 20 year olds when my daughters are not far off this age........but my choices for reading about 40 year olds is very, very limited.
It is a must read if you've read the first two. It was sexy, hot. erotic and passionate........ Pearl has moved on and I bid her au revoir, now I eagerly wait a new protagonist to captivate and inspire me as Pearl did.
Very, very good, although not quite what I expected. I read books one and two back-to-back in December and I was truly crushed by the ending of book two. During the month and a half wait for this book, I imagined Pearl and Alexandre resolving their impasse, but I expected it to be harder and longer; an opportunity for them both to grow a bit more and struggle with some of their personal demons. We knew they were madly in love, but Alexandre's critique of Pearl's behavior at the end of book two was warranted. I do not want to give anything away, but I did not sense Pearl really showed any comprehension of what he told her. However, I did really appreciate Pearl and Alexandre's moments of honesty and truth and the sex was wicked hot. Alexandre's declarations of love and adoration were beautiful, too!
Such a lovely conclusion to the Pearl trilogy. The love story between Alexandre and Pearl continues with the promise of a baby, and a magically, fantastic, happy-ever-after!
But the plot turns twisty and tumultuous with Alexandre's difficult past coming back to haunt him. This is another one of those serials you just can't put down, because you need to find out how it all works out, and if everyone makes it out alright!
I highly recommend this series. It has a little bit of everything - world travel, good sex, pink champagne, a charming BFF, cute kid and dog stories, suspense and a swoon-worthy romance.
Aaaand, I'm off to the next in the series, with Alexandre's POV! <3
Another roller coaster ride in the relationship of Pearl and Alexandre. Only stopped reading during life necessities as compulsion and obsession to read what happened next in their tumultuous lives. I can breath now at least. This trilogy is one I will read over and over again. Highly recommend.

It was really hard for me to write this review, I wrestled between the idea of just going with the flow and agree with all the five star review or be truthful and give the number of stars it truly deserve. The fact that it takes a skilled and exceptional mind to write a book, ( all authors are, no doubt! ) the end result must also stay true to its promise. The first two books did, I was one of those who was impressed and gave a five star review and couldn't wait for this one, the final book, and I'm so disappointed. The dialogue was somewhat childish and mundane, it went here and there and really Nowhere! They were just a filler to prolong the pages to call it a novel. This is only a little over 300 hundred pages long, I skimmed through pages of them and perhaps was left with only about 100 pages to read, yet it still took me over two days to finish which is highly unusual for me ( does that mean I was bored to death? aah, yeah! ) Senseless conversation with a five yr old; endless description of the company HookedUp Enterprise and its project and who's involve and what they plan ( who cares? ) It's as if this was written by two different authors, the words used on many pages of sex scenes were vulgar and offensive, no finesse at all. It lost its intent to seduce the readers mind and instead became comical. Let's admit it, nobody really talks that much during sex, this two, Pearl and Alexandre were never lost for words, in fact that's when they're most talkative. Jeez! The author's attempt to put a happily ever after ending was so rushed and contrived, it leaves you with a mouth hanging open asking "what just happened"? It's sad that many readers are now into so much BDSM and raw, crude and vulgar sex description of love making that stories like this, and such as "This Man" "Beneath This Man" that bordered abuse sadly have been ridiculously revered and somehow have forgotten what true romance is...

The Review Wow, this had me on the edge of my seat or rather bed (that’s where I read usually) I have loved the whole trilogy of Pearl & I am sad that this is the end, I love how this author writes, she made me believe I was watching the whole thing like a film in my head which is just how I like to read my books, watching them play out and imagining the characters, what they wore, etc, anyway, In this episode we start right where we left off in Shadows of Pearl, that cliffhanger was killing me, but it all became clear in this one, All the characters were the same, which made it easy to understand what was going on, I can’t wait to read more from this author, she is truly a writing genius, she will have you hooked, Highly recommended to all my friends, 5/5
I wanted to know how this series ended, but I was a bit disappointed. I thought that the issue with Laura wrapped up too quickly and too nicely. I think that this should have occurred early in the story and taken more time, not in the last twenty percent.
This followed Fifty Shades of Grey too closely * Alexandre is extremely wealthy (Christian) * Pearl is relatively inexperienced in bed for a forty year old (Anna is a virgin) * Sex was great between Pearl and Alexandre (same for Christian and Anna) * Alexandre can't let Pearl go, even through she tries quite often (Christian and Anna again) *
Slight change in that Pearl is older than Alexandre.
Even with these similarities I did enjoy the series, but wont be reading any POV (I'm an avid follower of
I am sad to say that I am happy that trilogy is over. That was one of the hardest trilogies to get through. I was hoping it would get better but it did not.
I couldn't draw myself into the story of the two main characters. The story line seem to be all over the place along with it just dragging. I am also sad that with there finally being a story with an older woman that there would be more sophistication and poise. Instead, the character Pearl was a ditz who could never seem to pull herself together.
And lastly, the attempt of writing out a French accent was sooooo not necessary. If state a person has a French accent, we the readers can use our imagination of what the character sounds like.
This is an amazing passionate hot hot couple..I loved this series from the beginning..pearl is a forty yr old lady that runs into the much younger love of her life to be..make that bestest ever lover to be (Alexandre Chavelier-meaning knight), He's everything dreamy an with a beautiful French accent to boot! But it's one serious rollercoaster ride all the way to book 3!! OMG- cuz book 2 ends making you want book 3 like now!! Leaving your heart in your throat an feeling all crazy..book 3 is a wonderful wrap up for this series, definitely a must read! after this pearl series I can't wait to see what Ms. Richmonde comes out with next.
I was in love with books 1 and 2, it was refreshing to read about someone closer to my age and couldn't wait to get book 3 and see what drama enfolded. But wow, I was disappointed. I feel like the author didn't put much into it and just wanted to end it. Yes there was drama, but it was all wrapped up so quick it was like it didn't happen.
I normally don't write bad reviews but I'm just so disappointed. After the way the second book ended, I couldn't wait for book three to come out. It was rushed and somehow the chemistry between Pearl & Alexandre just seemed to disappear. Halfway through the book, I just kept looking to see how much more I had until it was over. And I was relieved when it ended. Bummer:(
This book was close to being my first DNF. Too redundant and too predictable. This easily could've been shortened by 60%. It evolved into the same I can't live without you, I love you, I want to f--- you over and over and over again. A real disappointment considering the first two books in this series. I definitely don't have the heart to try the remaining books in the series.
I am so disappointed. After the way the second book ended I wanted more twisted turns of actions. I still had hope until it was over. What the F....?!!!!!! Right now I feel like the author did not put much into it and just wanted to end it. There was only one drama situation. It happen too quick I barely noticed it. I did not feel any excitement reading this part.
I started reading A Taste of Pearl and loved the story! Such a great read! I would definitely suggest reading all 5 books - the last two are a re-telling from Alexandre's POV and its great to see what he went through during the story. I'm going to suggest this series to my bookie friends!!
Book 3...and I am so on the edge of my seat with this book. It was a lot of secrets shared between Pearl and Alexandre that I had to stop and really digest them all. I was happy with how things turned out though if you really think about it...the likelihood of things resolving just like that...you would say that "it's only in the movies". A good ender for both characters and a good read for me.
What a wonderful conclusion to the Pearl Series. this is one of those series that you just can't put down, page turner from the first word to the last. I have enjoyed the ups and downs, the travels, erotic sex, suspense, and last but not least a lovable dog. A must-read. Now on to Alexandre's POV.
