Rate this book
When someone becomes a new Christian, they are often left wondering what to do next. What does it mean to be a Christian? Where do they start?

Bob Franquiz, founding pastor of Calvary Fellowship in Miami has built a road map for new Christians in Begin . He leads young believers to the starting points--Bible reading, prayer, church, fellowship, and baptism--that lead to a rich life of following Christ. New Christians will discover the practices that encourage spiritual growth and develop a process that allows them to keep growing closer to God for a lifetime.

As the subtitle indicates, this short book is designed to introduce a new Christian to the first steps of the Christian life.

Between the chatty style and higher page count I was concerned at first this would not be an effective tool for its purpose, but I was very pleased with the intro chapter serving almost as a self-contained pamphlet.

The chapters are formatted well handling the right topics and the Franquiz's signature frequently asked questions chapter doesn't disappoint.

My only other concern with Franquiz is his tendency to add distracting elements where clarity would be most helpful. For example, he mentions in passing his second baptism to rededicate his life for ministry. I have no problem with this practice but it seems totally unnecessary to include in a chapter supposing to introduce the reader to the concept of batism.

This may not be my go-to book for this purpose but it is serviceable and for the right person would be excellent.
