Kindle and I have been at war this last week over whether I was reading FREEDOM (JERUSALEM #1) or FREEDOM (JERUSALEM #2). ( It is so tempting to write a bathroom joke at this point, but I will let it pass.)
The author's writing mechanics were excellent! His words flowed despite the complex subject matter, the numerous characters, and the time period. It seems that Hitler had the Germans in his hand for a decade or more before the people woke up to what he was. Through a German Jewish family and a German family, the author hits emotions and events in a very readable way. The two main characters embody the things that are good in a vicious society not of their making.
Thank you, Mr. Falconer, for a GOOD READ.
Note to readers: This book ended abruptly. There was no resolution between the two main characters which leads me to think there is another book in the FREEDOM series.
