In the second installment Chase and Jasmine recognize their feelings for each other, but she's still unsure about how much compatibility they have for the long haul. In the midst of that an attempt is made on her life. Is the danger coming from his former lovers, or other secrets from the past?

The Good:
1. Chase is so intense in his feelings for Jasmine and I love it. The way he does things is very manipulative, but I found it entertaining.

2. Jasmine is a smart girl who has enough sense to wonder how someone so hedonistic could all of a sudden become a one woman man so quickly.

3. The character backstories are revealed in this installment, and surprised me in great ways. Some even shocked me.

4. This went to a wonderfully darker place than expected from the first book An Arrangement of Love (Chasing Love, #1) by Kenya Wright , mainly because of the heroine's family.

5. The way all the characters vibe off each other makes this series, not just the leads.

The Bad:

1. Too many POVs. Though invested in Jasmine's family didn't need to get her brother's or the girlfriend's narrative. It took me outside the love story that brought me to the party in the first place. This being written in third person instead might have earned an extra star from me.

Final Thoughts:

The POV challenges made this honestly a 3 1/2 rating, but rounded up because of the subgenre love honestly. That said, can't wait to see how it all wraps up in the final book.

This book was ok. Jasmine and Chase were ok but I liked them in the last book better. Their love-sickness for one another became a bit tiring. Jasmine would just whine and complain too much over stupid stuff. She lost a lot of the feistiness she possessed in the first book and came across as a total nag.

As for Troy and Vivian I just couldn't deal. Their situation was a hard limit for me. I found myself cringing and skimming through a lot of Troy's chapters. I didn't like not being given the option to delve into their relationship. I was thrown into the middle of their bullshit when all I wanted was the continuation of Jasmine and Chase's story.

I feel like Troy and Vivian's situation could have been resolved in a novella that revolved around them and not a story told to fill the empty spaces between Jasmine and Chase's story

I would like to start by saying that I laughed so hard at the whole "Hamburger meat" convo. I know it shouldn't have been funny and it may be due to the fact that it's 1AM and I just finished this book but I could not stop laughing every time one of them said hamburger meat.

Now that that's out of the way I will say I didn't like this book as much as the first one and I skimmed a little because I was a little bored during certain parts.. like every time it was a scene where Jasmine was about to eat I was bored out of my mind, it was cute the first couple of times but after a while I was like YAWN.. I didn't care to hear about how everything she put in her mouth made her moan... we get it she is a foodie it was loud and clear.

Chase was sort of a push over in this book, I mean he was still alpha male but it seemed like if Jasmine said jump he would say how high which was a little annoying.

The drama seemed a little overboard and I know this story isn't real but I'm like seriously chase has billions and he can't find out who is doing all this crap... and you mean to tell me he has a weak security team at that.. yeah I rolled my eyes hard.

Last but not least Vivan and Troy, while I certainly felt bad for them in the first book I was borderline grossed out by them at the same time. Unless some papers come back clearing them... its gross and it needed to end period.

Benny is next level insane... he freaked me out all the way and honestly wendy wasn't far behind him on the weirdo meter... also who in the hell was Wendy talking too in the room at the end? I was like yeah this chick is insane all the way

Sigh... I probably won't be reading the last final book, it was too much crazy drama in this one so I am ending this book here.

I enjoyed the series up until half way through this book where i found it ridiculous how Gabe, Chase, Troy & Viv’s character made Jasmine the center of all their attention unwaveringly & that’s love right there! She was in obvious danger, don’t get me wrong

this wouldn’t have even bothered me as much if Viv didn’t attempt to commit suicide. Viv was completely disregarded by Jasmine & her father & suddenly Vivian’s very recent escape from death, finding out the man she’s inlove with is in fact her brother Troy & her emotional state was no longer Jasmine’s concern or that of her dad?

Viv practically just appeared occasionally while the book pretty much went on with Jasmine & her situation being the center of all that is important & she just happily soaked it all up
I loved Jasmine’s character but all that did was annoy me

At some points in the book, I just wanted the characters to just get to the point already. At some points, it felt like the story dragged on in some places with repetitive lines. i was glad for an epilogue in the story but it did not really feel like one at all. I would've loved to get a little more closure with the H/h before the story ended.

Overall, it was a good story and I will definitely be reading the next story in the series.

Although Jasmine was a little flip floppy but her and Chase got it right in the end. Sort Of. Overall I loved this book, I can't wait until the third book

An anticlimactic resolution. I think my real problem is that I still don’t like Chase. He’s an obsessive psychopath. And I find Jasmine to be spineless. Neither are the type of hero or heroine I like to read about.

I gave this one 4.7 stars because it had some seriously epic things going on that need to be recognized... however, I found Jasmine's constant preoccupation with food to become annoying at times. I also found Jasmine continuously running away from Chase and being kind of a bitch but then falling for the D to be annoying as well. Lastly, there was a great slow burn to this at times... but I really would have liked more of the sexy details. But as stated there were some crazy things going on in this one so I got why some of the sex was just mentioned or didn't go down. It just would have been nice is all.

We pick up where book 1 left off in this one. Chase is absolutely indulgently delicious in this book. The story line gets really serious and dramatic, intense, and suspenseful. For awhile I felt like I was part of the Scooby-Doo team trying to solve this mystery. Some of the choices that these characters had to make were devastating and heart breaking. This book has one of my NO-GO's in it... but the way that it was written even I was confused about how I felt about that, and I must say that is a huge feat to accomplish because I am not easily swayed. LOL!

There were also some psychotic characters in this one that had me cringing and sitting on the edge of my seat to see what they would do next. Do not fuck with Benny! That's all I'll say about that. I always say the second book in a series really has the hardest time. The expectations are set, and if it sucks then you know people are going to jump ship... I'm happy to report even with the few things that I didn't care for this was EPIC! READ IT!!!

Quote Love:

"'Say it, baby.' Burying his face into my cleavage, he begged some more. 'Please, Jasmine, please. Give me that soft pleasure. Only you know how to give it to me just right.' He squeezed the curve of my behind..."

"I kissed that cunt. Her liquid smeared against my lips. I licked those folds and released a growl that made her turn back and look at me in fear.
You better be scared."

"I needed to get deep, I was desperate to be completely inside of her... I worked that pussy, stamped my annoyance on those secret lips. 'Don't ever keep this from me.'
'Oh!'
'Ever.' 'Mine! Goddamn it. You feel that?'
'Oh, Chase!'
'Mine, when I want it. Mine, when I beg!'"

"'Trust me. I was doing my best not to listen to white boy beat it up.'
'You're disgusting.'
'No, you're the one and you're mad that I'm right.'
'Yeah. Yeah. Chase is on probation. We didn't have sex.'
'Well, then he's cheating because he sure had someone upstairs screaming out biblical names for the past two hours.'
'Oh, Chase! Help me Jesus!' 'Let the heavens open up! God take me now!'"

"Because you're talking to me as if I am a dog. I don't eat puppy chow or slop out of a bowl placed in the kitchen. I am a man. I eat like one and walk like one... I do not listen to orders, nor do I fetch and run or fucking be pulled by a leash, little girl... I. Am. No. Dog!"

I thought “A Test of Love” was a great follow-up to “An Arrangement of Love”, albeit a bit darker read.

I liked seeing Chase’s perspective on things. In this book he’s still the dominating alpha he was in book 1, but this time around he’s much more vulnerable and emotional. I guess falling in love can do that to you.. lol. He has dismantled his polyamorous relationships and wants Jasmine to be his one and only. He will do whatever he has to do to protect her, no matter what the cost.
Jasmine got him wrapped and she has the power to make him beg for it.. until he can’t take it anymore and then he has to show her who’s boss! (I LOVE THAT!!!!!)

I LOVED Jasmine in book 1. But in this book? Not so much. She got on my nerves! She played with his head too much. “Come here,” “Go away,” “Come here”, “Go away”. She whined and complained a lot too. I also found her to be a bit too demanding when it came to information about Chases’s past. Chase has a lot of childhood secrets that are difficult for him to talk about and sort through. They’re painful. I understand she wants to know more about him because his past might affect her and their future, but I think her way of going about it was ALL WRONG. Who are you to demand anything? It’s his house, he can have a locked door if he wants to! I can’t stand that pushy, “I have the right to know all of your secrets, or I am going to pitch a fit like a two year old” kind of behavior. I’m probably biased about this because I am a private person by nature and can only share when I am ready to, but I found her antics to be childish and a major turn off. I wouldn’t have minded if he dumped her after all of her foolishness. :P

I know the storyline with Troy and Vivian is controversial, and may disturb some readers. It doesn’t disgust me, as much as it makes me sad. I try to put myself in their shoes and all I can do is feel sorry for them. I believe that these type of things have happened to people in real life and it must be such a heartbreaking and devastating thing to experience. :(

Great plot and backstories are provided here, and more delicious love scenes between Jasmine and Chase.

“A Test of Love” is definitely another gem by Kenya Wright!

SOMEWHAT OF A SPOLIER AHEAD, GREAT BOOK, HOT SEX, CHARM AND WIT. THE PRICE IS AWESOME PICK IT UP AND READ. SUPPORT A GREAT AUTHOR.

This book was a good book, I really loved reading it. The characters were well developed. The plot needed more development. The ending was somewhat confusing, I understood why the other girls had to die but I wish their was some development into Wendy's past of what made her a killer in the first place. Her and Dawn should of both been confronted about the other girls death. Dawn was killed to soon in this book. I do not even want to know what the third book could possibly entail because they killed the murderers. Those rooms in the Artani are a mystery, along with Wendy's past. Glad we got to know Benn, the first book had me thinking that he was a doting father but in reality he is kind of twisted and dangerous. The love between Vivian and Troy is very weird, it kind of weird me out that she was saying its okay, no matter what if you share the same father you are still brother and sister. I was glad I got to see into Chases past a little bit more, got to see who he is as a man it was very nice to see that he is still somewhat vulnerable. I like the end when he went all alpha male on Jazmine. Bottom line Kenya Wright is an great writer. I love her books because they are IR romances, but they also have charm and wit. I find myself laughing at things Jazmine and Vivian do because they remind me of my friends and I.

Chase & Jasmine- BRAB Online Book Club

Chase and Jasmine's story continues with the quest to find the person responsible for shooting her. As usual the author brings the heat, his crazy obsession with Jasmine will let him stop at nothing, including murder.

The right amount of intrigue, murder and scorching hot love scenes makes it a must read. Anxiously awaiting Commitment, the final book in the series.

4.25 stars! Great read! I love Jasmine! She is such a great character. I love how she's such a big foodie, she's hilarious, and she's adorable. All in all wonderful. I loved reading Troy and Chase's POV as well because I always love the male POV. I do have to say, this isn't as steamy as the first one but it very hot. I can't wait for the next book! Is that still coming out this month???

5 Deliciously easy stars for this one.

Again the writing was superb...the dialogue between the characters was very believable.

The continuation of Chase & Jasmine's love story drew me in from the first page and didn't let me go....at this point I'm eagerly awaiting the final book in this series A Commitment to Love can't wait to see what unfolds next for the characters.

It was ok. I liked the first book a lot. The second book started off well but it just got to be a little too unrealistic. I mean I felt like the story was pulling plot twist from other books into this one book. Then I realized I have to read a third book and that just did it for me. Don't think I will be getting the third one.

Sick with some hotness but not worth it.

There are so many things that are sick and deviant about that here converged stories and characters. The author does have other books that are wonderfully smart, funny, engaging. This does not one.

So Many Changes

*****Spoilers*****

The story is starting to get off track and Jasmine has morphed into a private investigator. Not so much about her and Chase this one but it does make me wonder just what she studied at Harvard since I can't seem to recall, only that she went to school there and received its fine education. Troy and Vivian aren't exactly done like expected after the revelation that they're brother and sister so I'm guessing a reveal will come about that indicates they're not related after all. Not sure if it'll be Vivian who's out or Jasmine and Troy but think it makes sense for the twins since there are all kinds of reasons Benny could be excluded as their father.

Turns out Dawn AND Wendy conspired against Jasmine to try and kill her. For that, Benny took care of Dawn personally and horrifically and Chase Wendy though minus the meat grinder approach that Benny took to Dawn. Lucy was innocent and naive but thankfully Troy and Vivian took her and hid from Benny because he's lost it. But he's not the only one who's personally is shifting, so is Jasmine's and Chase's. He's turning into some dangerous criminal gangster element and Jasmine is now a tough girl. Sighs. Didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but the series continues and so will I.

Good!!

OK, this is a "weirdly" good series.... Lol. One of the review says that Jasmine, Troy and Vivian walk all over Chase, that's not true. Chase never deal with a woman like Jasmine and he loves her beyond reason. Jasmine is Chase's weakness, he even admitted himself : "“Your man only bows down to you. The rest of the world I ignore.” He brushed off his shoulder and exuded that same slick, rich boy swagger that radiated around him when I first met him..."
Great read, now time for book 3 !!!

Wow

How are we still left with questions? I LOVE IT!! This series holds your attention because there are twists and turns around every corner. I love the fact that Chase refuses to give up and how he’s willing to risk it all to be with the one he loves. I love how Jasmine doesn’t know the power she has and if she did I don’t think she would abuse it. Benny is another creature altogether. And Viv and Troy? I hope something works in their favor.

Book 2

This is definitely Kenya Wright the author of the Lion and Mouse series. The flare for international places, the descriptions allow the reader to travel to foreign lands. The sex scenes can make your body illicit sensations. The elements of danger lurk while the characters display humorous dialogue, vulnerability, and willfulness. Underneath there is a mystery to solve. An intrigue feast to be devoured.

Something didn't add up

So I really enjoyed this book until the end. I felt like I really got to know the characters and the suspense was there in who shot Jasmine but something was missing when the end came. It was like the book wasn't finished. There was no cliffhanger or foreshadowing of things to come. Thankful there is a 3rd book or I would have given it less than 3 stars.

A Test of Love

Book 2 was a great continuation. Chase and Jasmine along with Jasmine's family conquer their road blocks. The couple has substance and they glow together in this novel. There were some unanswered questions and I'm hoping another book reveals the answers.
