Yukiru Sugisaki (杉崎ゆきる; Sugisaku Yukiru in Japanese) is a Japanese manga artist. Her hobbies are dramas, video games, and "collecting rabbit things". Sugisaki's face is rarely seen, as she prefers to draw herself with a rabbit face or mask in her manga profile images. She also seems to have developed a trait of leaving her series unfinished before moving on to different projects (Notably D.N.Angel, which has seen multiple month-long droughts between chapters. She has just recently done many Lagoon Engine installments, including the Japanese release of volume 7. Previous to that, she completed a small series entitled Eden, which had its debut in the October 2006 issue of Shōnen Ace, and finished in February 2007. It saw a departure of sorts from Sugisaki's previous series, with a darker, sci-fi noir theme and older protagonists.
Currently, she finished D.N.Angel in 20 volumes (5 released only in digital).
Her work
She made her debut in "Asuka Magazine" with "Namaiki no N". Her other works include "D.N.Angel (13 volumes, unfinished) ", "Rizelmine (1 volume, finished)", "Lagoon Engine (7 volumes, unfinished)", and "Lagoon Engine Einsatz (1 volume, unfinished)". Her "D.N.Angel" manga and "Rizelmine" manga have also been adapted into anime series. Because the D.N.Angel manga was incomplete at the time, the anime has many differences to the original manga, most notably the ending.
Sugisaki is also the artist of the "BrainPowerd" and "The Candidate for Goddess" manga, both of which have been turned into an anime. Her "Neutral" artbook contains artwork from "D.N.Angel", "BrainPowerd", and "The Candidate for Goddess". Her second artbook, [FEDER:] (which is no longer available for purchase), contains newer artwork solely from D.N.Angel. She has also penned the well-known "Sotsugyo M", and created doujinshi for series such as "Tenkuu no Escaflowne", Neon Genesis Evangelion, Lets&Go , and King of Fighters.
Most of her works feature young, cute main characters and elements of Yaoi, though not considered Yaoi.
Her current project is D.N.Angel, which has finally begun serializing in Monthly Asuka again.
The beginning of a conflict in another universe where what God touches becomes an abomination, an abomination certain individuals are compelled to fight. Lagoonaria is a nation of women where a few membets cease to be female if they must take on a task which puts their life at risk, a curious mixture of matriarchy and patriarchy displayed in this attitude. Such an individual is Sakis, a former princess turned Godslayer, fighting with the crew of their ship against Abominations. Only that ship just flew into a trap, a trap threatening to expose the sinister secrets behind Lagoonaria’s protections.
This was an intriguing, poetic, and exciting introduction to this universe, ending on an intense cliffnote, yet it was a lot to process at once. It was unclear if there was any connection to the Lagoon Engine manga which had a different premise and feel. Readers only had a brief taste of the characters, too, enough to be intrigued, but perhaps not to enough to get too attached. It was an intriguing and attractive beginning, regardless. I was sorry there wasn’t more available to me.
i actually really liked this book! the world-building is so complex and interesting, and although it’s confusing at first, there are short pauses in between events in the book that give detailed notes on the confusing parts. the art is also very pretty and well-done. my only complaint is that even though there is no volume number anywhere on the book (which made me assume it was a standalone story with no sequel), this book appears to be the first in a series. the second book also seems to be nearly impossible to find, which is disappointing because i really would have liked to read more. overall i would highly recommend this book! just be sure you go in knowing that you won’t understand everything at first, and be willing to read some author notes in between chapters. and be aware that the sequel is apparently impossible to find. i know that all together should probably make it a “bad” book, but i just can’t bring myself to say it was bad… i liked it a lot! especially given that it’s cheaper price-wise than most other manga for some reason. it’s a good read! :)
"Artwork subject to change", huh? Well, assuming I have the correct version, mine looks like this:

Anyway, I'm annoyed with this one; it apparently hasn't deigned to number itself as "Book 1" anywhere on itself, so it appears to be a single-volume story, but then it just abruptly ends.
So.
IS that the whole story?? Because it feels like a lot of setup and zero payout. Gee, wonder why someone gave it to the free library??
(also have to love when a story is SO convoluted it includes full-page footnotes in the MIDDLE of the book vs. at the end)
I don't understand why this book has such a high rating. Yes, it was written by the author of D.N. Angel, which is great, but this volume is confusing and unfinished. The story line is way too epic and grand for the number of pages allowed each chapter, and some of the story has to be explained in between chapters. Worst of all, the volume suddenly ends in the middle of the story; I'm guessing the series was discontinued. I like the idea of it, and the main character seems interesting, but the execution is lacking.
This book was pretty amazing. The storyline and the characters fit each other perfectly. I absolutely love when you find out shes a girl cause you actually think shes a boy. The way marriage is an how they decide who is a man and who is a women is interesting. I loved it and anyone who loves action and rebellion should like it too.
