Midnight Symphony is hidden a diamond in the rough. Not all diamonds are flawless, so yes, you’ll find some flaws in Midnight Symphony but considering this is A.L. Kessler first book it’s really good and a great start to a series. I devoured it in two days and went to beg her for more.

As a heavy paranormal romance reader I love finding something totally different from the same old PNR’s out there today and Midnight Symphony gave me just that. Loved the characters, world build, magic and lots of different emotions.

With a war wedging between the demon hunters and the demons Cora and Darius are against all odds of beginning able fall in love with each other. This is not your typical lovie dovie PNR, this is what some of us call more hard core PNR. With Darius father after the Cora for his own shellfish benefit and he abuses Cora in many ways. One was is he has her back wiped and Darius is powerless to help her. Cora is very strong and powerful and she is willing to take all risk to bring down the Demon King that killed her mother.

I recommend this to any paranormal romance reader who like something hard core and different.

Spoiler alert below
I bought this thinking it was a standalone but when I got to the end of the story I was screaming for more. Cora father arranged a marriage with her to Alaster without her knowing. Alaster is very prominent in the story, so before the end you might find yourself rooting for him to get with Cora. While you’re rooting for him the story ends with Darius wishing for him to find love, therefore causing you scream for his story. Needless to say that’s just what I did went to the author screaming for a story for Alaster. With the world she created it would defiantly be easy to add more stories and she has insured me that she is working on Alaster story.

I really enjoyed this book, it is a fun read and the characters have depth which I find extremely important in a book. I found myself loving the main characters from their very first encounter, nothing felt forced and in the end there were other characters that were so developed so well that I want to know more about them as well. To me all of that adds up to an Author that I will definitely want to read more from.

4.5 Stars..

What a fabulous story involving witches and Demons. I was enthralled from the very first chapter when Cora kisses the Demon Prince, Darius, to distract him so that she can flee his presence. From that point I was thinking that I was going to like this story!

Cora is a witty character; she lives as the mysterious Gypsy Girl and appears on stage to bring hope to the villagers. Her powers are mute during the day, so the Demon King doesn't see her as a threat. For her to be a strong Demon Hunter, she will need her powers to come out so that she can call on them at any time of day. She is a strong person and she will do anything so that she is not a pawn on either side.

Darius is a great guy for a Demon Prince and he was immediately captivated by the red-haired beauty from that very first kiss!! He even heads south to try and locate the girl who has piqued his interest. He is one sexy man, and I was hoping he would appear to me!!! But that didn’t happen and he kept tracking down his earth Beauty.

Together our two main characters need to set aside their attraction to work together to try and defeat the demon King to prevent a war between the Demons and the Demon Hunters. I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry these two characters had and the lengths that they go to for one another as well. There was a steamy sex scene thrown in and enough action to keep me entertained until the very end. The only thing I would have to criticise would be that the story wasn't long enough! I will definitely read more from this author!!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was a little dubious as to whether I would like this read when I first looked at it and read the description, due to the fact of seeing the word “gypsy” in the blurb made me think of it as having a historical aspect which I am not a fan of. However, I was pleasantly surprised as to how much I did enjoy this book and liked the storyline.

Cora was a fascinating character to follow; I liked her determination and her strength. Her sister Theresa though, towards the end I wasn’t really sure what side she was on! After Cora put herself in danger to try and save her, she turns on her once she finds out about Cora being involved with Darius. Though all was revealed by the end of what Theresa had planned in order to ensure Darius and Cora's safety.

Overall this read exceeded my expectations and left me wanting to read more. I hope there are more books in the works by this author in the genre or even a continuation of Darius and Cora’s story to see what battles the pair might have to overcome next.

If I could give this one 41/2 stars I would!!!

It was great I loved the hole story line!! I really enjoyed the hole King and Queen thing, with this twist. I have always liked books about demons and what knot's. This story Surprised me about a young peasant who is actually a really strong witch, that hasn't gotten her powers yet I enjoyed the journey she went through just to break those powers free and on the plus side she fell in love along the way another plus.

I would for sure recommend this to anyone to read who likes Demons and witches, you get it combined into one story and it was a great story. Although I have to say their was some grammar issues but not many it was still very readable. It was a different realm love story that turned out with a good ending instead of a heart break, yes their was some but not a lot it was all for the greater good.

This was well written, what readers need it got right to the point and didn't take very long I was hooked within the first 3pages and to me that's a great story!! :)

I don't get a chance to read many stories about gypsy's so when I saw the description I had to read it. This is the second book from Kessler that I have read. This book was so lovely. It has romance, war, deceit, and legend. I loved the legend that the story refers to and would love to see how the legend began. I became invested in the Gypsy Woman. Even now I want to know what else Darius and Cora has to face. If you love paranormal romance the way I do you will love this story!

I want to start off by saying I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The rating should really be 2.5 but since there are no half stars in this, I bumped it up to 3 stars since I did like the way it ended... at least for the most part. So, the things I didn't like as much in this book are most of the characters... I really did not like how violent Darius was with Cora at the beginning - that is just not OK; but I guess you have to remember that he is a demon, so ... I don't know, it's still not OK with me. He does get better at the end, but it still bothered me. Cora's personality was a little too inconsistent for me, especially at the beginning... she claims to be independent and this strong character but then throws herself at Darius which to me is a little unrealistic. Then there's the father... what a complete jerk, the way he handled his daughters and basically disowning Cora and then constantly saying how Theresa is the weaker of the two - in my opinion Theresa was the best character and showed her strength and bravery at the end of the book. Also, I just have to mention this there were some grammar issues, but that didn't really bother me as much as the characters did. With all this being said though I still enjoyed the book, especially at the end - I won't say what happens because I don't want to ruin it for you but I will say that I enjoyed it and it made me bump up my rating to 3. :)

I would recommend this book to those who like supernatural romance novels.

At a time where encounters with indie authors can be a bit like dipping one's toe into the shark tank, I'm pleased to give a positive recommendation to the works of A.L. Kessler. Not only can Ms. Kessler create an interesting, layered paranormal/fantasy world (one gets the sense of a great deal of cultural history that in no small way motivates the actions of the characters), she's very personable, friendly, and genuinely pleased when people express interest in her books.

Paranormal romance is not my prime genre, but Kessler can weave a story that holds my attention and avoids many of the tropes and cliches that can drag down a story. Definitely keep an eye out for more work by Kessler!
