the core of my problem with yuri manga (or any romance manga, for that matter) is this refusal to move on. these stories are so wrapped up in their narrative, the character's identity of being someone who is in love with their high school best friend, that it does not leave room for the possibility that maybe, humans crave variety that one cannot say, without a hint of skepticism, that they felt the same way they as they did back when they were sixteen. it's impossible. we cannot step in the same river twice.

yet. it's such a common trope in manga. the concept of the childhood friend alone.

it continues to be what knocks a star or two off my rating for these types of stories.

overall, what a funny note to end on.

I really loved this one. It’s more mature than most of the yuri with a high school setting I’ve read this far and it’s not afraid to explore dark thematics.
