A sweet story of two dads falling in love and their struggles as single parents. They shared parenting tips and help support each other. For Izumi, it's love at first sight, he was practically drooling all over his child's pre-school friend's handsome daddy. As for Asakura, he found his feelings for Izumi deepens each day without realizing the nature of his affection towards another guy.

The story of Vol. 1 ends with a direct brazen confession that left Asakura flustered. I can't wait to follow the love story of these two single dad with their cute kids. I am pretty sure Asakura would overcome his confusion and acknowledge Izumi's love for him. Usually I don't quite like kids in my M/M or Yaoi books but the kids here are super cute. They mirror their daddies so much yet unlike their daddies, they are very honest and straightforward with their feelings. The adults has much to learn from them.

The artwork was good and the story was interesting and entertaining but I don't think this series could be compared to Kizuna - Bonds of Love Book 1, Kodaka sensei's earlier accomplished yaoi series. Kizuna was unforgettably good. So good that it is basically a must-read for all Yaoi fans.

Two single dads ✅

—————————————————————— •○●

It was okay and, I suppose, pretty cute. Just felt a little too much when Asakura's vibes abruptly changed. It would be nice if the vibes matched with the first image he had 💁🏻‍♀️

I stumbled across this by total accident, and oh god, am I glad that I did. It's a story about two single dads written and drawn by Kazuma Kodaka and it's so supercute and happiness inducing! The only bad thing is that it isn't finished and it looks like it will be a while until there's a continuation, but I don't care that much. It's really a sweet story that's beautifully drawn, and the kids are incredibly cute, and the dads are adorable. I really loved this, can you tell?

I think this book is an exhalent read, and I would recommend it for both veteran and (especially for) beginning BL readers.

As an artist and an inspiring cartoonist the art is drawn amazingly and you can feel the hard work and emotion that was put into evey panel, with an added bonus the chins don't look like there going to shank you.

The story is cute, hilarious, thrilling, head-aginst-book bashing, and hot -n-steamy rolled up in one sushi role. With the sauce of interesting and compelling characters and I would love to see with their own stories.
In my opinion it is also a beautiful example of how important proper and clear communication is for a romantic relationship to grow and blossom, because without it one wouldn't be able to maintain the relationship because well you know people can't read minds.

I also LOVE how their kids ship them and try to get the two together throughout the story.

One of the sweetest stories/manga's I've read. There is some angst along the way, but the journey of these two fathers and their son's is a very entertaining and "warm feeling" read.

Ikumen After, story and art by Kazuma Kodaka, is a very sweet, on-going manga series first released in 2010 that is not a yaoi. I know, you’re in shock, that I’ve actually read a non-yaoi manga. :P Well, I have, kind of. Ikumen After is a yaoi, but a tame one, which is called shonen-ai, or the equivalent to puppy love within Japanese comics. The relationships are gay and the men may hold hands, kiss, and express feelings for one another verbally, however, physical interaction doesn’t happen. In other words: sex might be implied, but it’s never shown. Once the artist crosses the line and draws explicit sex the manga is automatically labelled a yaoi (hard core).

Asakura and Izumi are both single fathers; Asakura is a widower and Izumi by an unfortunate circumstance or perhaps fortunate, depending how you view his story. And they happen to meet when they take their sons to the same daycare. Their sons are already friends. They start to talk, and once they discover they live not far from one another, they meet up in the mornings and take their sons to daycare together. Asakura and Izumi get to know one another and, eventually, their friendship grows. They discuss child rearing and the past as well as a few personal secrets, and of course, life happens along the way. I’ve found and read seven chapters to this manga so far, the latest of which was released in 2013. And I believe that’s all there is available at present.

Ikumen After is basically cute and fluffy. Aside from a steamy kiss, Izumi wanting sex, and Asakura masturbating then admitting to it later, there isn’t any explicit content. Like I said, this manga is a shonen-ai, and has to be accepted as such. As usual, Ms. Kodaka’s artistic skills are second to none; her characters are attractive, their personalities endearing, and the story is charming. What can I say…I really enjoyed IA. I give this comedy-drama 4 stars!

This is such a cute, sweet and funny manga. Quite kitschy, but in a good way :) I liked it a lot. And I do like good manga with kids in them, they are so sweet and funny >.<
