★★★ All I Know by Ashly Lorenzana

A collection of quotes on life, love, sadness and other topics

I won this as a LibraryThing Members Giveaway in exchange for my honest review.

This one was sort of strange. I really did enjoy some of them, while others were just harsh.

The layout is deceptive. It is listed as 95 pages, however I would say more like 40 pages. There are a lot of blank pages in it. the first time I got to a set of blank pages, I honestly thought, I had a bad copy.

Thanks to the author for sharing your insight with me.

I love books of quotes, whether an accumulation of famous people's thoughts or, like this, the author's own - you can always find something that stands out or speaks to you. Some of these really made me think.

I do wish there had been more of an explanation behind the words in this book, an explanation of what lead her to write this book other than what is written in the book description on Amazon. An introduction into herself, her history and her background would have pulled the book together, giving a lead in instead of immediately starting with quotes.

Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A sobering reality of quotes that will both force you to see the truth but also reflection. While some are a little abrupt, the constant is truth in words.

An interesting concept in parallel to the lies that we may tell ourselves.

A quick, easy read from a writer with style and intrigue.

4 stars~ Interesting short book

It seems to me that this is just a compilation of some pretty random musings, enough to fill about 15 pages.
Some of them are pretty accurate, some we've all heard before, and some of them make you think. A few of them really stuck out for me- doing unselfish acts being good, but that those acts ultimately become selfish because of the feel good we get from doing them - and the very first one - never do anything you can't admit doing, because if it's something you'd be ashamed of others knowing about, it's probably not the right thing to do. Both of those are rephrased into my words, but those are the meanings.
The only thing I really didn't care for was the author's input on her drug usage and enjoyment. But.. to each their own, and the quotes were decent aside from that.

This is a very short book, consisting of only about 15 pages which are full of quotes and what appears to be, ideas and thoughts. I'm not sure what the authors intentions were with the layout of the book, since it's just a jumble of quotes and thoughts. They're each random and do not seem to have any relation to one another.

I did find some of the quotes to be very enlightening and relatable, but other than that I feel indifferent towards this book. It's neither great, nor bad. I would still rate this book at a 4/5 but I think the price of the book is a little high. It's a great book for those of you who are looking for some thought provoking quotes, I know some of them really got me thinking.

ALL I KNOW: A COLLECTION OF QUOTES ON LIFE, LOVE, SADNESS AND OTHER THINGS by Ashly Lorenzana gives us ideas to reflect upon as we read them. I liked the quotes on the black and white world as well as the one about selfless acts. The quotes will change in meaning as life circumstances change. It is a good one to read over and over again.

I enjoyed this far more than I anticipated, and found myself agreeing with the author's thoughts throughout the book. It was a brief reflection of the author, and, transitively, ourselves. (I won a copy of this through Goodreads.) I would have liked to have seen some biographical information about the author.

I would categorize this more as a collection of thoughts than a collection of quotes.

Some were quite contradictory to others, but overall a beautiful glimpse into the mind of someone dealing with happiness, sadness, and hope like we all are.

Many pages are one liners, several topics. Wisdom and sadness.

Some of the quotes/lines (however you want to describe them) were thought provoking. Others were so-so. Overall, they didn't do much for me, personally. Maybe as more fleshed out passages I could have better appreciated what the author was trying to convey.

I'm sure many other readers could enjoy it more than I did, though. Probably just not the type of book for me, but I gave it a shot.
