Drift: Nissan Skyline

Rate this book
The great thing about drifting, thinks Kekoa, is that it's more about skill than expensive parts. That's good for him. Since his mom left him on the island with his grandma, his Nissan Skyline 350 is all he has to his name. Life is the opposite for Billy Cain, who can buy his way into or out of anything. But when Billy's antics threaten the few things Kekoa cares about, they'll put it to the does skill or money win out when it comes to wheels, winding mountain roads, honor, and love?

Includes real tech specs and tuning details for the Nissan Skyline 350!

This book is great. It has great content. I like this book because it is short and it is great if your into cars or drifting. This book shows you can do anything if you set you mind to it. It shows if you really want and you go for it,you will get what you want.

Plot Summary
This book takes place in Hawaii. With Kekoe the main character. He is there with his grandma. All he has is his car a
Recommendation
I would recommend this book to anyone that is into cars. This book has great explanation about cars and about the Skyline. This book is is more for high school. If you want a short, book this is for you.

Charactation
Kekoe the main character starts out with staying with his grandma. Kekoe is with his grandma since his mom left him there. Kekoe has his Skyline, a great car. He is a drifter, but he needs to get to the top and beat all these rich kids who get anything from their parents. Kekoe first starts as a normal drifter without fame. Then he gets to the top with fame.

Overall the book is decent for older teens as I suggest this book is for younger kids because they used phrases like “You done F-ed up kid!”, and “Drifting cars is for losers!”, Typical child insults if you asked me.
A primary conflict/theme in the book is where the main character Kekoa works hard for his car, and car parts while on the other hand Billy, a rich wealthy kid gets everything handed to him by rich parents so one of the themes is Skill vs Wealth. This just explains to the targeted audience which id assume to be young readers that you don’t need to be wealthy or rich to be good at something thats usually associated with a wealthier class sport IF you work hard and put your mind to it, even in the rough conditions like what Kekoa was in living with his grandparents.
I like that the book was easy to read and some of the car definitions are easy for everyone to understand. But someone like me who knows a bit more than the average person about engines, cars, etc, they definitely could have been more specific on car modifications and or engine mods with just a simple definition right after it.
Personally I think this book is great and is a good book for basically everyone to read but if I had to put an age range on it, it would be 10-13 in my opinion. And I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in cars and wants to find a nice book to read in school

I need to find some young adult novels that include automobiles, etc but this one lacks any substance. It did have automobile and racing and drifting information in it and that will be enough for some of my more reluctant readers but that's about it.

The book is set in Hawaii. The characters in the book are, Kekoa Pahinui, Billy Cain, Adila
I found this book at the school library. It is about cars and I am interested in driving.

It's about how kekao goes and lives with his aunt. So he can go to drifting school. When he got there his grandma let him use the little gaurge for his car. But first he had to cell all the car parts that his grandpa had from when he owned a auto shop. So he started selling all the parts so he had money to put into his car. Then he would go different places in hawaii to practice drifting. He even put a second seat in the car so his one friend could go with him when he went to drift.

How he didnt know if he was going to stay on the island or go back to live with his mom. And how they haven't raced yet. He was lost in what he need to do now. He didn't know if he needed to strip the hole car down to start a real drift car. So he was just lost in what he needed to do now.

This book is very good if you things about cars and if you think drifting is fun. It has a lot of information about drifting. It tell you how to drift. It's very good because he sells car parts from his grandma's garage. And how he switched schools and only had one friend. So i recommend this book to people that like thing about cars. I thought it was really interesting.
