When a fire threatens to destroy the future of Walker Ranch, Cade and Suzanna have to work together to save it.

I grew up in a really small town in Missouri. Very similar to the fictional towns I write about. I moved to the big city right after I graduated. I work full-time and I am mom to a beautiful little girl.

I started writing in October 2012 when a group I am a member of had a prologue contest. I didn't win the contest, but everyone who read my prologue asked for more of my story. I decided I had to finish it and get these characters that were in my head out on paper. During the writing process it became clear that these characters had a lot to say. So I realized my story was really a series:

The Destined Series
Destined to Change (Available Now)
Destined to Succeed (Available Now)
Destined to Forgive (Coming Fall 2013)
Destined to Rock (Coming Winter 2013)
Destined to Overcome (Coming Early 2014)

I am a really boring person, so this bio is super short! This is really about all there is to know about me. Sad, isn’t it. lol

I love music and honestly couldn't write without my Spotify playlist. I am kinda obsessed with frogs (not real ones) and office supplies are my downfall! I could spend my whole paycheck at the stationery store...boring, didn't I already say that? lol

Also, I am slightly addicted to Facebook and Voxer. Please message me on either one...I would love to hear from ya’ll.

I really enjoy Lisa Harley's writing! Her books are full of plot twists, angst, a nice dose of drama, a whole lot of steam and of course, the obligatory swoon-worthy romance!

If you fancy a hot cowboy romance, look no further. Cade Walker is about as 'hot cowboy' as they come.

“He was sex on a stick. If the body didn’t get you, that damn deep voice with the country drawl would do it every time.”

I must admit, I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first. I felt that the actual writing itself didn't quite flow as well as it did in Destined to Change. But the plot itself had me gripped.

4.5 stars!

I loved Cade when we met him in Destined to Change despite his cocky cowboy ways. I know I shouldn't have, and I was totally Team Jaxon, for Lorelei, but I did like Cade. I can't help but gravitate toward an arrogant hottie in tight ass Wranglers and a stetson, who has no problem flexing his sun-kissed muscles, putting a half tonne animal in it's place, hauling hay bales and just generally getting his hands dirty! Y.U.M. So I was excited that we would be getting his story in Destined to Succeed.

The story begins just after DtC leaves off. From there it flicks backward to Cade's childhood, where he meets his best friend, Suzanna. A.K.A. 'Suzy Q'. The book follows their lives as they create an ever lasting friendship, but skirt around one another in the romantic sense. They fall victim to misunderstandings, allow other people to manipulate them and just never get their chance to be together. Life gets in the way and eventually they both find themselves leading their own lives...
This is beautiful story about second chances, childhood sweethearts and finding out that what you've been looking for has been right in front of you all along. I love those kinds of heart-warming stories.

She was the one that my dad had told me about. He always said, "Son, when you find the right one, you'll just know it. Your dick won't pick her. Your heart will. Always listen to your heart, because your dick can be a lyin' bastard."

But aaarrrggghh! This was soooo frustrating at times! I wanted to bash Suzanna and Cade's damn heads together! The whole thing went completely pear shaped when they were young, immature teenagers and they failed to communicate properly. It's amazing the impact that one stupid mistake had on their entire lives... it leads Cade into a life of womanizing and debauchery and Suzy Q into a life that is nowhere near the fairytale she had hoped for.

"What took you so long?"
"I've been askin' myself that same question all damn day."

This book does include some pretty graphic domestic violence and non-consensual sex. I was quite surprised, because it was quite heavy and I hadn't expected that level of detail.

I went backwards and forwards with Suzy Q. Sometimes I loved her, she was funny and feisty, and she adored Cade... and then sometimes I wanted to slap sense into her. Again, back to the lack of communication! But later on the book, when Suzanna is suffering from domestic abuse, Lisa Harley does a great job of getting into the mind of an abused woman. She explains that you can't possibly know how you would react until you are in the situation and that even the strongest women find themselves feeling weakened by their controlling, violent spouses.

Cade was the knight in shining armour. Or, in this case, spurs and a cowboy hat. He was there for Suzy Q even when they weren't romantically involved. He was the loyal, steadfast, dependable best friend. Now, I love my best friend, but if I could swap her for a better model, in the shape of hunky cowboy who bent me over his kitchen table every once in a while, I wouldn't think twice!!! What a BFF to have!!

Yeh, like I said, this book is steamy! There are some delicious sex scenes. I loved the 'first time' scene. I just knew it was all too good to be true. *sulks*

"Somethin' was always missin'. I finally figured out what it was.
It was you."

Urgh, I hated Branch. I hated him from the beginning, but it gets worse. So much worse. He deserved nothing short of a skinning alive.

When Cade and Suzanna finally get their acts together. It's perfect. I love the way it happens for them. They bring out the best in one another and you can't help but root for them all the way through the book. Totes emosh!

"You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and I'm never lettin' you go again."

The surrounding characters in Lisa Harley's books are fab. Cade, Colt, Cole and Clay. All strapping, blonde, muscle bound alpha males. Honestly, where is a girl to find a town like this??? These kinds of men just don't wander around freely where I live. I can't wait to read more of this series, because I'm sure Lisa has many more exciting stories to tell and I hope that these lovely boys all get their tale told.

I'd definitely recommend this series. I guess, you could technically read this book as a stand alone. But I really wouldn't advise it. Book #1 is great and the two together make for a much more satisfying reading experience. Happy reading. :)

I have to be honest and admit that I was not a fan of Cade in Destined to Change. I was completely Team Jaxon and felt Cade was arrogant, cocky and just in the way of my favorite couple. But from the beginning of this book, my opinion of Cade changed. In Destined to Succeed we find out about his past, what shaped him, and what turned him into the ladies' man with little emotion that we first met. But in this story we see his vulnerable and his sweet side. We meet Suzanna when Cade does... in third grade. They grow up together, become best friends and are inseparable. But as their pre-teen and teen years occur, their feelings start to change. But unfortunately communicaton issues, fear and insecurities lead to years of missed opportunities and poor choices. My heart literally hurt for both of them.

“Son, when you find the right one you’ll just know it. Your dick won’t pick her. Your heart will. Always listen to your heart, because your dick can be a lying bastard.”

They clearly loved each other and belonged together but they could not seem to get it together. Their failed union created consequences for both of them and changed the course of their lives. Cade turns off emotion and seeks fulfillment in multitudes of women, and Suzanna finds herself miserable in an abusive marriage. But she feels she has no chance of escape since she has to protect her daughter and those she loves. They have such deep feelings of longing, lust, and love. But they have so much stacked against them. It was sad, heart breaking, frustrating, and maddening.

Cade is a sexy, cocky, cowboy with a huge sense of responsibility and a big heart. He hid this by being a womanizer in order to cover up his true hurt feelings and to protect himself. But deep down, he knows there is really only one woman for him...but he is not sure how she feels and circumstances make the situation impossible. He is struggling to rebuild his ranch and take care of everyone.

“He was sex on a stick. If the body didn’t get you, that damn deep voice with the country drawl would do it every time.”

Suzanna was initially fun and feisty, but her marriage and circumstances dragged her down. She was damaged and hurt, but always still managed to support Cade and his family. The only bright spot in her marriage is her sweet daughter Isabella. She will do anything to protect her. She longs for the life she could have had with Cade if things had been different.

“My heart picked you, Suzy Q. My heart always knew it was you.”

There is also danger lurking the background threatening Suzanna, Cade, and their families. So there is tension, suspense, intrigue and tragedy that raises your anxiety level. You know something is coming and it just builds and builds. And then something does happen, and then the build up starts again. So it kept me entertained and engaged.. It made me tense, upset, and at one point...totally shocked. I loved many of the supporting characters especially Cade's cousins Cord, Clay, Colt, and Cole, and the sweetest little girl ever, IzzyB. She had such a child like innocence and spunky spirit and she had all of the men eating out of her hands.

I was really invested in the characters and their relationship. They really were likable and so good for each other. If they could only go back in time and change one thing, their lives would have been so different. It is told in alternating points of view of Cade and Suzanna in present time and in flashbacks. But it flowed well and I enjoyed their memories as much as their present story.

Despite all that they have been through, can they finally overcome the problems with their past and find a happy ending? Or are they destined to have happiness just out of their reach?

I look forward to more books in this series and hope that we see more of the characters from the first two books filter into the subsequent books.

Thanks to Lisa M. Harley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was actually privileged enough to be a Beta Reader for this book and review is based off my beta read. Will be posted on Reviews by Tammy and Kim

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy! I knew when we got to Cade's story I was in for a story that was going to be downright steamy but I didn't expect the feelings I had the HIGHS of highs and the LOWS of lows ~ yes I was

Ladies you remember Cade if you read Destined to Change ~ Oh yes that sexy cowboy Cade that had no problem entertaining the ladies between the sheets ~ that Cowboy knows how to provide a wild ride! We get to see a side to Cade that was just itching to come out! We get to see Cade & Suzanna (his Suzy Q) meeting for the first time in third grade, it literally made me ~

and then threw the years as they grew up together! They experienced many first together and some of those first were ~

but then after graduation things get really serious and get really sad and when Cade lost his parents I was ~

it just broke my heart! It tore me to pieces and little did I know this was just the beginning of my heart being twisted like it was in a vice ~ Suzy Q agrees to marry Branch and as much as I was ~

I just knew there was no stopping it! Now I could seriously go through piece by piece of this book and tell you how I felt on each page but then that's not fair cause you need to read this one~ So let's just tell you this after Branch & Suzanna's wedding I was ~

with what happened and then I wanted to~

Branch ~ he was certified CRAZY ~ I mean really CRAZY! He made me SICK with the way he treated Suzanna ~ Suzanna had one blessing from that disastrous marriage and that was her adorable curly red-headed, blue eyed daughter Isabella or as Uncle Cade calls her Izzy B~ that baby makes you want to ~

her to death! When Suzanna escapes the nightmare of her marriage I was totally ~

yes I was so freaking ecstatic~ When Cade & his Suzy Q FINALLY admit to there feelings I was ~

but lo and behold I had no clue this is where the story was just heating up and not always in a good way ~ I went from~

to downright

back to

to FINALLY yes FINALLY

Of course many parts of this book did have me

but most of all Destined to Succeed made me SMILE ~ This was a story about 2 best friends that meant more than the other let on. A story where what you ALWAYS needed was right before your eyes and how communication just might have avoided years of utter heartbreak! We have that sexy "cowboy" oh yes that term will have you ladies giggle and we have the beautiful, strong, giving woman who he was Destined to be with.

This was a 5 star read for me! I can't wait to see what Lisa's Destined series brings to us next! I'm looking forward to more of the Walker boys and I'm hoping it's soon!

I've loved Cade Allen Walker since the very first page he appeared on in Destined to Change. Some thought he was arrogant and didn't like him. I wasn't one of them. I always felt Cade had a sexy smirk on his face whenever he would boast about himself. I "got" Cade. I knew underneath the bravado was a sweet soul. In Destined to Succeed you get to see that sweet soul. Cade is more than meets the eye. He's a hard worker who cares deeply for his family and friends. As for Suzanna, Cade's best friend... Before reading the book I had already made up my mind that I didn't like her. She was coming between me and my Cade. I started to like her SOME. That's the best I can do. At times I felt the book was more her story, but that was okay with me. Her journey was sad and compelling. Certain scenes involving her made me angry and uncomfortable, which I think was Lisa's goal. I found a new love in Cord, Cade's cousin. He's in the book throughout briefly, but he made an impression on me. There's something smoldering sexy about Cord and I want to know more about him. So to sum up, I'll love Cade forever, I like Suzanna SOME, and I need more Cord. Lisa has delivered another sweet story with sexy sauce poured over it. It is Cade, after all.

Destined to Succeed is the second book in Destined Series. This book cris crosses a little with the end of the first book but we get to see it through Cades eyes instead of Loralei's. I LOVED Cade in the first book and I though Loralei treated him like crap so I was soooo happy to see him find happiness.

In Destined to Succeed we get to see the real Cade Walker. He is still the cocky, arrogant, sexy as hell cowboy from the first book but now we get to see his protective, vulnerable, sweet side. He is tired of the cocky womanizing playboy he has become and after Loralei breaks his heart he realizes that he wants to settle down and have a family of his own.

Suzanna is sweet and loyal to a fault. She is also a little broken due to being in an abusive relationship for years to her husband and the father of her daughter Izzy B. Her and Cade have been best friends since they were in third grade which leads to much more in their teen years. Unfortunately due to constant miss-communication, insecurities & stupid choices their relationship never went any further.

Cade & Suzanna have always been their for one another so when circumstances keep shoving them together and Suzanna & Izzy B need help Cade steps up for them. Despite everything that is thrown at them they stick together and are there for each other. They try to pick the pieces up and move on to something better that they can feel is just out of reach.

This book wasn't just a romance it was chock full action and OMG did that just happen moments. Lisa done a fantastic job making you connect with the characters and fall in love with each and every one. It was a great read and I can't wait for the next one.

I fell entirely in love with bossy, badassed, filthy mouthed Cade Walker in Destined to Changed so I thought that I would love, love, love this book.

I was wrong and I'm a little sad about it.

It could just be the way this book was written...going back and taking us through Cade's childhood...for me, it was too drawn out. I wanted to get to know Cade better as he is now.

Bottom line, he just didn't grip me like he did in the first book...I was bored and ended up skimming through a LOT of stuff just to get to the end.

Cade and Suzanna's story had me HOOKED from the moment I started! This book blew me away. I loved being inside of Cade's head, and you will want to scoop Suzanna up in your arms as much as Cade does. If you liked Destined to Change, you will LOVE this book!!!

As I started reading this book my heart broke for Cade during the prologue. I loved Destined to Change. When I met Cade in that story I loved him so glad he got his own story. His story is a rough one many twist and turns. There anger and hate and happiness and sadness and in the end there is a story of ONE TRUE LOVE and that no matter how ugly or crazy that journey gets your destined to be.
Cade and Suzanna have been best friends since they were 9. But because if stubbornness and fear of ruining there friendship neither one would tell the other how they felt. Well that was there first mistake. They decided to be each others first and Cade thought his luck had turned around with his Suzy Q . Ignorance/Fear took them on a different path for many years. To many years. She always knew her heart only belonged to Cade but decided to marry Branch anyway and she paid dearly for way to many years for her decision . She was living with fear at the hands of a crazy violent man. ( what he did to her sickened me beyond words) she finally escaped only because her daughter saved her. No child should have to endure what Izzy B did. Things were getting better for them until the CRAZY showed his face again doing the unthinkable and destroying another life. There journey continues to be a hard one. Anna has always had a thing for Cade but he never felt the same way. Anna decided that she would win in the end an has turned into a crazy person. Cade has fought long and hard to have Suzy Q and Izzy B in his life there were destined to be his family it's what should be. When life gets out of control and two people are so crazy they would stop at nothing to split you apart destiny has to run its course. It's hard to put your happiness in the hands of destiny but if you learn anything from Cade and Suzy Q's journey in Destined to Succeed there is a reason for everything whether you like it or not. Now matter how difficult your journey was destiny will get you to your happiness and you ever after. This book took me thru many emotions I cried because I was so ANGRY I cried because I was SCARED I cried because I was HAPPY. The ending made me so happy I'm so in love with Cade , Suzy Q and Izzy B there just perfect together and after all they endured they deserve there HEA.

Destined To Succeed by Lisa M. Harley

5/5 Stars

"Destined To Succeed" was simply amazing. I knew from reading Lisa M. Harley's debut novel "Destined To Change" that her writing captured me and I felt her words. It was clear to me then that I would want more.

First things first, Cade Walker... It's no secret that I was Not Team Cade at all in DTC. In fact I'm pretty sure the whole of the Facebook indie-book community I frequent knows this.

So... While I knew I would enjoy reading "Destined To Succeed", and waiting not so patiently for her to finish writing it after the prologue I read at the end of DTC, I may or may not have sent some er, rather "encouraging" messages to the author to take her laptop and get in her writing cave so I could find out what happened next.

My surprise? Cade Holy Hotness Walker!! How in the world did she make me fall in love with HIM? Talk about I didn't see THAT coming! Yeah, she did. (Relax, my loyalties and love will always lie with Jaxon from DTC) but, Cade Walker has so many layers to him. I can honestly say that I look forward to seeing snippets of him in future "Destined Books".

Suzanna... Oh my God. I loved her. I wanted to protect her. I wanted to talk sense into her. Hell into both of them from time to time. The journey that she goes through and the absolute hell and horrors that she faces. I cannot imagine facing those situations myself.

The level of emotions that I felt while reading DTS was light and easy yet at times very intense & definitely smokin' HOT!!!

Strength? Love? Loyalty? Cade & Suzanna have it in spades.

Oh, and you may want to have a box of Kleenex nearby, just sayin'.

Definitely a 5 Star book... Add it to your TBR list and watch for it in June! I love to feel and get lost in the books I read. Thank you Ms. Harley and get back in your writing cave!!

I haven't read the first book, but really, I haven't felt anything missing, except for wondering Cade's relationship with Loralei and how she could have not choosen him. ;) - have I mentioned, I want me a Cade please :D...
Destined to Succeed is Cade's and his childhood best friend Suzanna's story. The book begins from the end of Destined to Change, with a short Prologue. And then its pace increases with a tragic event on the farm in present. Then the story of Cade and Suzy B starts from their first meeting at the age of nine. We read their friendship and their growing love with the important moments they share, as if looking through an old photo album, with a smile on our face. The love for each other is so palpable, you can almost feel it yourself.
Cade Walker is handsome, cocky and a little (!) arrogant, a typical women's men. But with all these traits, when it came to Suzanna, he is caring, protective and sensitive... but they are - and can be - just friends!!! He lost his parents and shouldered the responsibility of the Walker Ranch at an early age. And loosing his best friend during the same time to a marriage wasn't helping either. He was definitely a womanizer, and every woman was after him - he is what you'd call a sex on a stick - damn! I am not a cowboy fan and even I wanted to have him for myself ;) But he wasn't really interested in them, except for some fun, he never had with any of them what he had with Suzanna once. My heart went out to him during those days, I must admit...

Suzanna is sweet and always loyal, she made sure her love for Cade could be seen by the reader from the first moment she laid eyes on him. However, I would be lying, if I say, I never thought to shake some sense into her!!! ;) She was in an abusive marriage with her longtime boyfriend, Branch, from the first day of their marriage I should add. She felt as if, she had no choice and this was her destiny - which I will never understand why - she chose this life. I felt broken for her and IzzyB, especially Izzy B - I had a daughter same age and couldn't bare the thought of happiness around sweet Izzy B. Noone should bare this type of abuse. Wish she reached out for help sooner...
“Son, when you find the right one, you’ll just know it. Your dick won’t pick her. Your heart will. Always listen to your heart, because your dick can be a lyin’ bastard.”~ Cody
During their teenage years, they came to cross the thin line between a friendship and being lovers, but they didn't have luck on their side; they moved on to others - though they were always close through their lives. SuzyQ had an abusive marriage, that she could only stand for her lovely daughter IzzyB and nothing else to make her happy. And Cade had his share of women; many who he can't even remember their names...

This wasn't my usual cup of tea; however, I really enjoyed reading it and loved Cade, I must add. Lisa didn't just put a simple love story out there; she showed family bonds, friendship and a heavy subject-matter; domestic violence, but never overwhelm the reader or take these issues lightly. Even though I wanted to strangle the two main characters at times, their feelings and frustrations were perfectly reflected which helped the readers to connect them, in a perfect sense.
I would suggest this book to any romance reader, and fans of sweet love story fans with some taste of reality in their books; you can grab your cold drink - let me warn you, you will need that cold drink at times with Cade out there!!! - settle on your comfy couch, and get ready to have a couple of hours of fun with this fast read. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series...

Cade walked up behind me and pulled my hand with the shot glass up to his mouth. He had me press it to his lips as he slammed it back. He was standing so close to me. His chest was pressed against my shoulder.
“You havin’ a party without me, hon?” I could feel his breath against my neck.
“A party just ain’t a party without Cade Walker, right?” I was trying to be funny, but my voice was shaky because he was just too close for me to think straight. He gently turned me around to face him. I felt his finger under my chin as he tilted my head up to look at him. His eyes were smoldering and this might have been the shots talking, but he was totally kissing me with those eyes.

*Received ARC in return for honest review*

I have come to conclusion that Lisa M. Harley and I are destined to have a love/hate relationship…hehe. I read her first book in this series, Destined to Change, a few weeks ago when I found out we had our blog tour. I enjoyed that book but didn’t love it. There were just certain parts of the story and dialogue that had me saying, “Seriously, did I just read that right?”

Lisa can write a great story, she makes you laugh and definitely keeps you entertained. I definitely enjoyed Destined to Succeed more than her first book. Her writing developed some and the story had a much better flow. She does repeat some of the same things more than once and puts lines in that state the obvious to reader but it doesn’t take away from you enjoying the story.

Readers first meet Cade in Destined to Change. That was where I first fell in love with him and was so excited to read his story. I just knew it was going to be good. I was not disappointed. The story starts out where her first book ended and there being a major accident on Cade’s family ranch. The accident puts Cade in danger of losing everything he holds dear. That is also where you meet his best friend Suzanna. She is there to console him and from there you start to see that something is just not right in her world. The story then jumps to when Cade and Suzanna first met at 9 years old. The story slowly progresses from there and you watch their relationship and lives progress over the years. They go through a lot firsts and hard times together. Their friendship is far from smooth sailing. They both love each other and you want them to be together. They should be together but as always circumstances and misunderstandings destroy anything that could have been and Suzanna ends up marrying someone else. Suzanna does not have it easy and spends a good portion of the story suffering in silence. Eventually you make it back to the present and see where things are from when the story first started. That is when stuff gets real and you start to see the true love story unfold.

Cade is all types of sexy cowboy and Suzanna really is a good heroine once she finds herself in the second half of the book. Suzanna little girl Isabella was absolutely adorable. I did shed a few tears for one part of the book because it broke my heart. I felt all their pain. I loved the second half of the book much more than the first. I understood the purpose for the back story but sometimes
I just really wanted it jump back to the present. I think the back story could have been worked into the story a little better.

All in all I think it was great read. You will not be disappointed. Cade and Suzanna’s story is part of series but if you have not read the first book you will be fine. There will be a third book in series called Destined to Forgive and will be characters from the first book, Eric and Emma.

Fantastic follow up to Destined to Change!! Lisa has definitely upped her game with this book!!!

I felt so much while reading this book. For one, I have never ever had such hatred towards another character as I did with Branch – I don’t know how many times I sent Lisa a message stating how I wanted to beat him and make him die a slow death – harsh, probably, but that’s just how I felt towards him while reading this book. Then there was Cade – OMFG!!!! Sex on a stick doesn’t come close to describing him in my humble opinion – he is a Sex God!!! YES – SEX GOD!!!!

Cade and Suzanna have been best friends since they were nine years old. They group up having each others backs. It was when Branch and Suzanna got married that things changed. Branch was always jealous of the friendship that Cade and Suzanna had, he never kept that a secret. And Cade didn’t keep it a secret that he didn’t like Branch at all. One night, Branch went too far and pushed Suzanna over the edge.

Cade was there for his Suzy Q like he always had been when they were kids. Suzanna was able to get back on her feet and feel like herself again. She was finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel and thinking she might get her HEA. But when you have someone like Branch in your life, he’s bound to be there to screw it all up!! Suzanna, Cade and the rest of the Walker clan go through some really tough and ugly times. But in the end, love really does conquer all!!

As I stated above, I had a lot of anger towards Branch and a whole lot of love and lust with Cade. But I also did a lot of crying – happy tears and some horrible ugly crying. So yes, have a box of tissues handy. Lisa will have you going from one feeling to the next throughout this book. Fair warning – the sex scenes are pretty hot!!!

DTS is a beautiful love story but it deals with a very difficult subject that many people sort of push under the rug or don’t want to talk about. Lisa does a superb job writing about this and doesn’t sugar coat anything. Being that I have someone very close to me go through a situation very similar to Suzanna’s, it really hit home for me. But Lisa, thank you for making the situation very true to life – that’s what makes you such a great writer and make this even better!!

Great job Lisa!! I lurve you so hard!!

You must go and buy this!!!

I have never felt so many emotions happen at the same time while reading a great book. When a writer can put a picture in your mind and it makes you laugh a real out loud full belly laugh that's when you know... Your hooked. One scene still plays out in my head only because from the minute I read about Cade walker in Destined to Change I felt a kinship to Lisa. I could actually close my eyes and see Cade walking beside his bike after dumping Suzanna in the pond.... I won't add to that except those of you that have finished reading Destined to Succeed will know exactly what I mean... (BIG SMILE!!!)

You never know when or where you will meet your soul mate.
Cade Walker was introduced in Destined to Change as an arrogant, cocky, self-assured, and sexy as hell cowboy... (Every girl's dream). In Destined to Succeed, the softer side of Cade Walker is introduced. His strong family values and love for his best friend and soul mate, makes the reader want to protect him from outside sources (Branch) determined to cause him emotional pain.
In Destined to Succeed, Cade and Suzanna meet at the age of nine and make it through some very important firsts. I felt the pull of Suzanna and Cade from the moment they meet. Suzanna the feisty red-head never to back down, at least to Cade and Cade the "Cowboy angel" determined to stay in her life even if it means giving her up. They are like two sides of the same coin. Lisa follows the two through ups and downs of childhood, adolescence into adulthood. You know they are meant to be together and the story line takes you through all the difficult times life can throw you curves and they still move forward.
Every woman needs her "angel" and if he happens to be the hottest cowboy around; so be it and Cade is definitely Suzanna's.
I love this book and look forward to many more from Lisa Harley.

So Lisa hop to it and get me another book to read. <3

If you have not read Destined to Change that is a must read before this book. Lisa M Harley did a great job with that book but Destined to Succeed is superb. Many times there is one main character that angers you but you are happy everything works out. Not here, my heart broke for both main characters involved. I needed them both to get their happy ever after.

To hear Cade's side of the story from the prologue to the end was the absolute best for me. We see a different tender side to him, and understand why he was a cocky SOB. He deserved happiness. He had love slip through his fingers twice. Suzanna was is complete heart and he looked for substitutes his entire life. Loralei would have been a substitute and never had his entire heart.

We meet Suzanna who has been Cade's best friend since they were young. She loves Cade, but 1 misunderstanding and her life take a terrible turn. She is forced into a relationship with another man who is crazy. He is verbally and physically abusive for years One night Cade becomes her knight. There story is only beginning. There is a crazy ex who needs to redeem himself. This story had a few twist in turns guaranteed to tear your heart in pieces. You will definitely need some Kleenex. The characters are tested in so many ways, you can see how strong each one is with all the pain they have endured.

I would highly recommend this book, Lisa Harley has done a fabulous job in her writing. I fell in love with so many of the supporting characters. I am hoping she has books planned for all of them. Her next book. Is due out in September, make sure to click the link below to add to your TBR.

Amazing follow up to Destined TO Change. We all first get to read about Cade Walker in Destined To Change, in that book Cade is a tough, sexy, cowboy who comes across a little arrogant, but like most of us we love the bad boys. I have to tell you I was truly surprised with Destined to Succeed, we get a chance to know the real Cade Walker and why he goes from one woman to the another.

Without giving to much away you get a glimpse into Cade's child hood and find out how much he has loved one woman, Suzanna, since the third grade, his Suzy Q. That's just one of the things I loved about this book, the writer takes you on a journey with Cade & Suzanna from third grade through their high school years, so you really understand what they meant to each other and what happened during that time to not allow them to be together but to just remain friends, who are desperately in love with each other. During those years Suzanna has been keeping a painful secret from Cade, her family and friends, she has been living a life of hell with her daughter Isabella. This part of the book had me in tears and heartbroken for what Suzanna was going through.

This is when we see the side of Cade that just made me even more crazy about him. He is not only sexy and all alpha cowboy but generous and has a heart of gold, he would do anything for the people that he loves.
This book has passion, sorrow and drama everything that you need for a good story that keeps you hooked from the beginning to the end..

If you haven't read Destined to Change you need to. This is where we are first introduced to Cade. I didn’t like Cade that much in that book, but after reading his story I am in love!!

Cade is a sexy womanizing cowboy. He lost the only girl he would ever love when he was sixteen so he decided that he would just sleep with anyone willing and not build any relationships. He had his heart broken at the end of Book one, but that wasn't because he was in love. He was heartbroken because he wanted a wife and kids. Can he finally get the family he wants? Can he give up a new women every day to be with the same one for the rest of his life?

Suzanna is a beautiful girl who is in love with Cade. They met when they were nine and have been best friends ever since. She was in love with Cade, but was afraid to tell him, because she didn't want to ruin their friendship. So she moved on with the town asshole Branch. He was a womanizer also, but she didn't care because she didn't love him. She ended up marrying him and then realized she made the biggest mistake of her life. Can she get over her past and make her life right? Does she finally find love with Cade?

This is an amazing book. It has a really good story line. Just when you think everything is going perfect there is a twist thrown in. Cade and Suzanna definitely have their work cut out for them to actually make a relationship last. I highly recommend this series to read.

What to say about this book - it's FANTASTIC!

I've not read anything by this author before (yes I've read the series in wrong order) but I'm definitely reading book 1 - destined to change because this book was brilliant.

I loved Cade and Suzy Q. Their love was such a destined lovely thing that all the mishaps that kept them apart were so frustrating.

Cade is a sweetheart, and although becomes a man-whore it makes you question "what if" he had got together with his child hood sweetheart.

The brutality of Suzy Q's marriage was heartbreaking, and even though her husband broke her and emotionally damaged her the strength left within Suzy to protect her daughter was amazing. I adored that little girl, izzy b is the most adorable little thing.

I could rave about this book forever, but go read it - highly recommended!

This is the 2nd book in this series by a new to me author. I am really loving this series and this author. I am so happy that Cade and Suzy were given a happily-ever-after. I literally cried about Clay and was so sad about what happened with his character. I'm glad the author brings to light the problem about spousal abuse, even though it was very emotional and hard for me to read at times, and the effect it has the children as well. Cade and Suzy endured many obstacles before they finally were able to be together. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series even though I think it is going to be emotional rollercoaster as well going back to the death of Declan.

I read this on my Nook from B&N, not in Kindle format.

I loved Cade and Suzanna's story! How do you go from best friends to lovers? What happens when their are misunderstandings and what path those misunderstandings take you on? I loved Cade, he is sweet, sexy and loyal! I love the friendship they have that nothing can break, even after all they go through. This book takes you an a rollercoaster of emotions. Lisa did an excellent job touching on the subject of abuse and loss. This is a must read!

Cade Walker is probably my new favorite book boyfriend. If he really existed I'd pack my bags and head to Walker Ranch. What a great story! Loved reading the years between now and when they met. I got misty several times but was so thrilled they got their happy ever after. Amazing read, thanks for sharing your talent.

Another amazing story! I loved Cade. In DTC I wasn't such a fan of his because he was trying to steal Lorelai away but I loved his story! Him and Suzanne are such a power couple and this was their true love story! Loved it :)
