My name is Yanna Everleigh. I used to think that being an old-fashioned virgin would be enough to keep gorgeous, sexy billionaires away - well, at least the kind who didn't do love at least. But I was wrong. If anything, it simply made my billionaire want me even more.
His name is Constantijin Kastein. He blows hot and cold, arrogant and cynical one moment and then disarmingly sweet the next. He makes me forget all about waiting for true love and just go for mind-blowingly hot sex. But he's also Netherlands' #1 playboy, and I'm my own worst enemy. I must be on my guard.
Maybe if I play hard to get and pretend that my heart doesn't beat madly every time I see him - pretend that my body doesn't go weak when he's close - maybe he'll finally stop trying to seduce me.
I don’t know how Marian did it, but she drew me into this trilogy without me even knowing it. I truly enjoyed this series. It was funny, sexy, and hot. I purchased the first installment when it was free back in February. I just started reading it April 1 and I was so eager to find out about Yanny and Constantijin that by Tuesday night I purchased ($6.00) and finished both copies that same night. That’s how much I enjoyed reading the story. Now, that’s not my usual M.O. I usually stalk the free copies list for novels but I couldn’t resist this story. I enjoyed Yanny’s humor and she is probably one of the few women I know that has great self-control. I mean, Constantijin put her in some hot situations but she stayed strong. I also fell in love with alpha male Constantijin. I liked that Marian portrayed him as a true playboy and didn’t change him to “boyfriend” material early in the story. You actually get a chance to see him grow into boyfriend material. Marian also included some different twist and turns that I haven’t read in other erotic-romance books. I will admit the last book “Caged” did leave me with a few questions I wish Marian had answered so maybe she may right another story about Yanny and Constantijin. But then again, the book does have some supporting characters that may need to find love.
How Not to be Seduced by Billionaires is probably one of the cutest stories I’ve read in a while. It has such an enjoyable light hearted feel to it. I know not one woman can say that they would not want to be pursued by a very rich, young, attractive man, so this just became every woman’s fantasy read. Marian is so good at writing anticipation, she brings you right to the edge of a cliff but never lets you go over. Multiple times I was holding my breath, chanting in my head do it or don’t do it, to the point I actually gave myself a headache. Whereas some of Marian’s other stories were a bit longer, this one was roughly 100 pages, which I wished would have been longer but worked for the story. With every story that I read by Marian, she has become an author I am sure to follow.
So about the story, Yanna is a young 24 year old woman trying to get a job at a multi-million dollar company. Upon arriving for her interview, she is late and stands out like a sore thumb in a pink suit. Taking one of the last available seats, she unknowingly sits down next to the CEO, Constantijin Kastein. That my friends is just the beginning. Standing out is what gets her the job. She has caught the attention of her new employer and not just for her excellent skills, but her looks as well. Unskilled in the art of love warfare, Constantijin begins his intense seduction techniques on Yanna and is intent on getting her in his bed. Throughout this story you will find out more about Yanna’s fate with Constantijin. Will she give in to his seduction and give him what he wants most or will she hold out until he gives her what she wants most, his heart. Find out when you read this enjoyable story. Enjoy
I definately did not see this coming! This is a short little snap of a story that starts out strong and has an even stronger finish. It was a short read but definately a good one. When I started reading this, I thought, ok this is so a 50 Shades of something kind of book. I was wrong. This book started out with a bang. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Yanna had an endearing quality about her. She knew that Constantijin was her boss and she couldn't break the no office relationship code of conduct, but everything in her body told her that she wanted to. But it was more than evident that he wanted it to... Constantijin (just for the record, I have no idea how to say that I just called him Constant while reading the book), the filthy rich billionaire was a strong character and hot, oh my goodness whas he hot... Without revealing too much of this story, I will say, I loved it. It was short but complex enough to keep me interested. I was a bit angry when the book actually ended. I needed more. The sexual tension in this book was unbelievable and there was plenty of it... This book had great characters, although I think that Arian could have been left completely out of it and it wouldn't have mattered except for the jealousy factor and all great romances have to have the jealousy factor right? Because of the length of the book, I was a tad diappointed that we didn't get to learn more about George. Or what happened back at the office after the final presentations. I was left with several unanswered questions, but an unbelievable ending that left me with my mouth wide open. It was a great quick read and I am looking forward to reading more of Marian Tee's books in the future. This one was so worth it, I only wish it had been longer.
Chased was a really good book. Yanna has been working for her father’s pharmaceutical company for years and at the age of 24, decides she wants to do something different. She applies for a marketing research job at Kastein Inc., where she meets Constantijin Kastein. Constantijin is the 32 year old CEO of the company, and Dutch Playboy. Yanna arrives to the interview late and doesn’t realize who Constantijin really is until he starts the interview. Constantijin is instantly attracted to Yanna and pursues her aggressively. She ends up running out of the office embarrassed and crying. Yanna is a 24 year old virgin who is saving herself for “The One.” Constantijin doesn’t believe in “The One.” He is an unabashed playboy. Yanna ends up working at Kastein in her dream job, for the time. She gets to read and predict current trends, which is perfect since she loves to read. She works along side George (he’s gay and becomes a great, fun friend) and Arian (Bottle Head Blonde who insults her at every turn and is after Constintijin and won’t allow her to get in the way). Another great character is Drake Morrison. He works at Kastein Inc. and seems to always be there at the right time to help Yanna out. She ends up referring to him as “Mr. Fix-It”. He has a bit of a crush on Yanna and tries pursuing her, but ends up being more like a hott great friend. Constantijin continues to chase after Yanna, trying to convince her to go to bed with him, since of course he knows she wants to. Yanna is determined to hold out for something more than losing her virginity to a one night stand, playboy. This story is really cute and I can’t wait to read the entire series.
WOW! That's my initial shock after finishing this book. It was a quick read but in the end it packs so much information into it. The character development was phenomenal as it twisted in with the story.
Yanna is definitely a woman that a lot of other women can connect with. She's looking for Mr. Right and set only on finding him, but finds herself having inappropriate thoughts for the man who is now her boss.
Constantijin is the CEO bad boy. He is the #1 playboy in his country and doesn't hesitate to live up to his title until he meets Yanna. When he meets Yanna, his world is turned inside out in a heartbeat.
The story is told through the eyes of Yanna. She is an attractive woman who doesn't realize it and still doesn't even when Constantijin chases after her to make her his. She is struck with inappropriate thoughts every time she is in Constantijin's presence. She even finds her doing things she never thought she would do until she met her Mr. Right.
The ending of the book is rather sad, but leads right into the second book. This book shouldn't be read by anyone who isn't prepared to read about sex and sexual actions.
Talk about ditzy and terrible writing. This is yet another spin-off of Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey. Gross. So apparently the heroine (if you can even call her that) has NEVER masturbated or watched porn although she's 24 years old. Yet she somehow knows that the pornographic name for a penis is "cock." Not only that, when she goes for a job interview, she's twenty minutes late, wearing a pink suit (who the fuck thinks it's a good idea to wear a fucking PINK suit to an interview?), sits on the opposite side of the interviewing table. Did I mention that she says she reverts to teenage behaviour and inserts "like" into every other sentence when she's "panicky or terrified." I have read 30 pages and might scroll through to see some of the sex scenes since apparently the boss, the hero, is a "holy-shit", drool-worthy character. I can't believe I wasted my computer's memory on this garbage. Did Not Finish. Do NOT Recommend.
This is a very short read of about eight chapters.
I really liked the whole plot of NOT getting seduced by a billionaire. But in the end, this was just like any other story about falling in love with a playboy, and how bad that would be. The only difference is that the title already says everything you need to know: The girl plays hard to get.
The characters were...interesting. But again, I've already read something very similar.
The more sexier scenes in this book are VERY hot.
If you are looking for a quick and light read, this is your book.
I enjoyed the book even though I started reading it as a one night stand book. I wanted something short to read before I went to sleep and I found this one on my endless list of ebooks. Now I am kind of hooked with the book and as soon as I turn my computer of I will go and read the next two.
Another guilty pleasure read for me. I picked up this book after reading Marian Tee's When Fangirls Lie where we had Constantijin and Yanna as supporting characters. I was intrigued by them and wanted to learn more about their story.
I like that Yanna is not the meek female typical in romance novels. She has a brain and a backbone, which came in useful in her dealings with Constantijin. There was insta-lust from both sides, but Yanna didn't automatically allow her libido to rule her decisions.
Constantijin was an alpha male in every sense of the word in romantic literature. I didn't exactly like him initially as he seems to objectify women. Although a bit predictable, I did enjoy his character development.
Overall, the story is intriguing enough for me to want to read the sequel.
Want a hot romance?? A hot sexy dutch accent man who makes you dream?? Ladies I present you Chased (how not to be seduced by Billionaires) by Marian Tee.. The Book is awesome as i expected and well you wnt regret it at all.. So what i would say go grab while am going to grab the second one..
I really enjoyed the book, a little sad that it was short but I it did leave a nice cliffhanger for the next book. I liked how witty, strong and so naive Yanna was but that just made it a better storyline. The way she feels, you can pretty much feel like your going thru the motions with her. Constantijian, what is there to say about the #1 playboy.... get your act together and get a clue or even buy one since you've got money to burn.
I do have this funny feeling that his secretary could turn out to be his mother, hmmmmm
AWESOME> the one star is for the ending. im soft for this heroine. shes so delicate yet smart n hopelessly a fan of soppy romantic love story (i think me too) damn. what could i say...every hero in marian story would be top-hot-notch. and THE COVER did justice for the book. ahh niceu one. i loooove it. now onto next book.
I loved this whole series. I read all three books today. Couldn't stop. I had to find out what happened. Loved all the characters in this book. Would recommend it to everyone. Will be looking for more of her book to read. The one thing I didnt like where the way the books broke up. I do wish they where one book. But that will not stop me for looking for more of Marian teebbooks.
I love a Billionaire series...add in that he is a hot alpha and I'm sold. I liked the writing of this story. And I really enjoyed the characters. I actually really like how Yanna is...and how she doesn't really let Constantijin rule over her too much. The end was totally a cliff hanger and made me dive right into the next in this series :)
I had gotten this series as a freebie through amazon.com. Even though it was free, this book is well worth the price of the book. I really enjoyed this book. It reminds me of a cross between 50 Shades of Grey mixed with Bared to You. The book was too short though and I thought the ending was a bit abrupt but I guess that's what cliffhangers are for. I'm off to read the next book!
Please write more! I loved this series so much, the characters are utterly enthralling. I loved the play between them, the insecurities and vulnerability they displayed. The plot was interesting and engaging, I was very tired for work because of this book ha ha. I couldn't stop reading until I finished it. This writer has very real talent, huge fan!
I really liked this series. First book was a bit slow, but following two picked up and generated enough heat and suspense that had me quickly devouring it. Not sure why it is a trilogy if all series was released at once, but individually not pricey so could deal.
